Had a perfect brunch. Proud Mary is the special Bloody Mary with shrimp sausage grilled pineapple and pickled okra skewers. Pretty spicy and delicious. Country fried steak and eggs are really tasty. Our family stays in Litchfield by the Sea every year for a week and have been going to the same restaurants for years. They are all great restaurants, but we can get great steaks, Italian, and Mexican food at home in Indiana or New Hampshire. This year the grandparents fed the kids and insisted my brother and sister-in-law, my wife, and I go out and have adult time. None of us wanted to go to the same places we have always went to. 3 of the 4 of us are foodies and wanted something that impressed the locals. Although we were looking for place with live music and great food, the reviews for the Rustic Table it an easy choice after our first pick didn't have a reservation opening until the next evening at 9pm. I am a big fan of farm-to-table or in this case... water-to-table. This place certainly didn't disappoint. We arrived at 7:25 for our 7:30 reservation and had to wait about 15mins or so for our table to be ready but that was the only negative of our visit. None of us were upset considering how packed it was. From the smell of the food... It wasn't surprising at the busy-ness of the place. The décor is well done. Im a big fan or repurposed and industrial designed restaurants and they did a very good job with this place. My brother-in-law had whiskey and the ladies had the blueberry peach sangria which they LOVED. We ordered the fried beets as an appetizer. I have hated beets since I was a child. No one else at the table was a big fan either but they were strongly suggested by the server. They look like dark red fried green tomatoes. I have to admit... Saying these were really good is an understatement. Being paired with their house-made avocado ranch dressing made them AMAZING. Our entrees arrived and the presentation was excellent and very appealing. I had the wreckfish special with grits, and root vegetables, my brother-in-law had the shrimp and grits, my sister-in-law had the eggplant parmesan, and my wife had the fried chicken and smashed potatoes. My wife was the only one who had anything left on her plate. This was only because the portions were so big. Everything was cooked to perfection. The grits were especially good. They are easy to mess up and these were very rich and cooked perfectly. We decided for the whole family that this would be our new "Go-To" place every year. Dad got a Meatloaf sandwich w/ broccoli bacon salad & mashed potatoes and gravy. I got a Smashed Burger w/onion rings. Which was cooked exactly the way I wanted. Date night with the wife, without kids, while on vacation for a week, requires careful planning and selection of a restaurant and other activities. We always end up doing the same thing every year we come to Pawley's - dinner, cruising the strip and laughing at the mouth-breathers, then some light shopping. We're super cool if you haven't figured that out yet. So, Rustic Table was recommended by the couple that owns Anything Froz and we were super grateful for the suggestion. It was a success! We went around 7pm on a Wednesday so parking and getting seated was quick and easy. The outdoor seating is a little tight so I had to tune out some convo from neighboring tables but the quality of the food and relative portion sizes balanced it out. For me, if I spend $18 on country fried steak, mashed potatoes, and green beans, it should be equal parts filling and delicious - that was the case at Rustic Table. The rolls with bleu cheese spread were excellent. The Brie appetizer with warm pear and and pecans was off the charts good. My wife upon taking a bite closed her eyes and made a sound that some would've found inappropriate. I'm not a big fan of Brie but this was damn good. Our entrees were perfect - no complaints there, only appreciation. Desert, a banana foster type of thing was delicious. We don't drink but had bread, an app, 2 big entrees w/ leftovers, and desert for under $80 with tip. Go check it out! read more

My wife and I visited Brookgreen Gardens last week to see their wonderful Christmas lights display. On the way home we stopped in Pawley's to have dinner. Bistro 17, their sister restaurant was full so the owner walked us to the Rustic Table and introduced us to her daughter. I own a family business so appreciate this kind of business. We were promptly seated and the server came immediately. She told us about the specials and left to get bread and drinks. The bread was a blue cheese sourdough that was beyond great. Two thumbs up. I ordered the scallop special and my wife had shrimp and grits. Both were great. The entire staff was professional and very Covid safe which made us feel good. Bottom line - try this restaurant. You won't be disappointed. read more

The service and food were 4-5 stars, but we made the mistake of sitting on the porch the day after it rained. The cockroaches and water bugs were out and it pretty much ruined our lunch because I spent the whole time watching the one that crawled up the table leg of the table extremely close to ours. We warned the hostess when she went to seat two ladies at the table. Food wise, the Waldorf salad and chicken club were great and our waiter was very nice. My family and I made reservations Sunday morning for 7 peoole at 10:30am and arrived at 10am and were seated immediately. Our server Ashley greeted us with waters. We arrived at the perfect time because it started getting busy at 10:30 and was pretty crowded by the time we left at 11:15ish. We tried their new signature Island mimosa which was fantastic! The specials sounded so good we tried them all from the pastromi sandwhich, crab cake eggs benedict, to the oyster wedge salad. The appetizers were well worth it too! The bri and fried beets were so tasty! Ashley checked in on us frequently and even became our personsonal photograoher offering to take pictures of us with our new favorite drink! Found this place through the great Yelp reviews. Although we were visiting the area during the increase in COVID cases, we decided to try this restaurant in person. We had originally made a reservation to sit on the patio, but when we got seated, we were right by the main entrance and hostess station, and there was a lot of traffic around us. We asked to be re-seated inside, and the hostess immediately accommodated us. Inside, the tables were far enough apart to feel comfortable, and it wasn't crowded (this was a Wednesday evening at 7pm). All of the staff wore masks (although not many of the customers, unfortunately). The food was excellent. We had the mini crab cake appetizer, which I would say was good but not particularly memorable. For main dishes, we ordered the shrimp and grits and a blackened snapper with brown butter, succotash, and grits (this was a special). Both were excellent, with the grits themselves being a standout in both entrees. We had the Pawley's Island pie for dessert, which was a nice finish to our meal. The only downside was that our food came out WAY too fast! We had our appetizer within 5 minutes of sitting down, and then our main meals came while we were only halfway through the appetizer. We were basically done the majority of the meal within 25 minutes of sitting down. We didn't even have time for a second drink. The service, needless to say, was prompt! Other than the speed, Rustic Table was a great choice and we look forward to coming back in better times. read more

Stopped in for my first time today and everything was delicious! We started with the brie and pear honey appetizer which was absolutely delicious - I would have been happy with just that and a bottle of wine! I had the BLTA sandwich, which was served with two sides - great value. The sandwich was good, the only complaint I have is that they said it had avocado and I was expecting actual avocado slices, not just an avocado spread. I didn't want the tomato soup that came with it as one of the sides, so the waitress let me swap it for fries (hand cut, tossed in sea salt. Yummo) without any issues. My husband and I went there for dinner. We will warmly welcomed and sat at a lovely table. I had ordered chicken my husband had ordered the ribs both meals were delicious. As usual my husband and I tried each other's dishes and we will both very satisfied. Two minor complaints, one was above our table there was a drip from the vent directly onto my lap. I did let the waitress know about that. She offered to move us but we refused I simply moved over as we were in the middle of our meal. The other complaint was that a group of elderly people sat behind us. We were trying to enjoy your meal, however the elderly people spoke so loud apparently because they can't hear each other. It was disruptive to our time together. Aside from that though we had a wonderful time and look forward to our next dinner there. read more

Entertaining our friends from California (Dan and Kathy) we opted to give it a chance as it has been open only 2 weeks and we were not sure what to expect. We spent the day at Brookgreen Gardens and had a wonderful lunch at the museum restaurant. Opting for a lighter more casual dinner than the night before and to treat our friends to a more indigenous dining experience... this seemed to fit the bill. Our hostess and waitress were very attentive and dinner came out all at once, nice and warm. Wine menu was OK, nothing too special, but offered several varietals by the glass. Wife had the Comfy (chicken bathed in gravy over a bisquet) and I opted for a cut of the she-crab soup (OK) and the pork chops.. but it was the sides that win a gold star... the fried okra was super good, light and tasty, the collard greens were some of the best I have had. Our California guests were equally impressed and as one is a vegan, there were plenty of "sides" on the menu to keep him happy. We shared the roasted chicken salad sandwich and the turkey Reuben and both were delicious. We came back for dinner the next night and were pleased by the dinner options also.
