We recently came for dinner a few weeks ago with another couple. Our waitress was awesome! We ordered our drinks and they were excellent! My wife is very particular about her dirty martinis and she was very pleased!! Atmosphere is antique and crowded, waitress was very friendly but not as attentive as I expected, she took while to get drinks and salads to the table. We ordered takeout from Hanser our first night on Pawleys island and were pleasantly surprised with the quality of takeout. I inadvertently ordered two of everything but it worked out for lunch the next day. My father in law had the burger and the ribs which he loved, mother in law had the fish sandwich loved it, wife had the fish sandwich loved it and I had the grilled flounder and shrimp. The shrimp was amazing so so good! Service picking up the order was outstanding and if the food was this good on takeout I'm sure it's even better sitting in the restaurant! Great food, great service. Good atmosphere. 8 golfers had a 7pm reservation but due to staffing challenges we needed to wait about 20 minutes. It was no problem as we hung out in the bar area enjoying the bartender's generous pours. The group all enjoyed our appetizers and entrees- seafood, steaks, tacos, scampi. 3.12.23 It was my MIL's 80th birthday so we booked a room for about 30 people. It was on the upper level, which was good because we were a loud group especially when my husband and his brothers are together. I am surprised we didn't get thrown out. Lol. We were in a nice sized room with a private bathroom, which was very convenient. We had multiple servers. Service was mostly good. A few minor mistakes giving orders to the wrong person, but given our party size it was understandable. The servers came around frequently to ask if we needed anything including refills and they cleared our plates. They provide complimentary hushpuppies, which was sweet and came with honey butter. I ordered the She Crab Soup, which was delicious and creamy. For my entree, I ordered the Crab Cakes from the Petite Plates, which came with coleslaw and one side. I chose the garlic mashed potatoes, which was one of their specials. The crab cake was just average, but I loved the sides. The dressing for the coleslaw was on the sweet side, which I like. We really enjoyed our dinner at this 25-year young family-operated restaurant. The parking lot was full on a Monday night - often a good sign - and HH didn't disappoint. We were able to get a table right away and were greeted by our very nice and capable server, Ayla. Ayla is a rare breed of server who actually has an opinion about dishes and isn't hesitant to answer questions that help you make a good decision. When we asked, she shared her menu favorites are the shrimp creole and fantail shrimp. So, my wife ordered the former and I the latter in combo with a blackened flounder. We complemented these with a glass of Banshee Pinot Noir (her) and Munkle Pilsner (me). I also ordered a side of Granny's coleslaw and grits. All were very good and the coleslaw was especially interesting (in a good way). We weren't sure if it contains cinnamon, nutmeg or a different spice but it's really tasty and unique. Ayla made dinner all the more enjoyable by visiting with us and sharing her friendly personality, although that seemed to be a consistent pattern with the staff. Granny greeted us as we were leaving and shared some special history of her family and the restaurant. I came here about a month ago and compared to the other food I've had, it wasn't that great. A memorable experience, but not in the best way so I had to review. We had the oysters Rockefeller for an app which was really good but the oysters were small. The hush puppies were delicious and I don't even like hush puppies. The butter was really sweet but I liked it a lot. She crab soup I'd rate a 6 out of 10. It was more of a chowder texture, but had decent flavor. It's a lot different than the other she crab soups I've had in Myrtle. I had the grilled seafood platter and there was no flavor. The saving grace was the garlic butter it came with, but the seafood had no flavor at all. I wouldn't have eaten the food if there wasn't the butter. The crab cake was good, so I'd recommend getting that as an appetizer or entree. For the sides we got the okra which tasted like tomatoes, nothing else. Also got the squash casserole which had no flavor, though I did like the texture. I tried adding salt and pepper which did nothing. My sister got the shrimp or seafood creole, I can't remember exactly. It was a tomato based dish and I didn't like it at all. It tasted like straight cooked tomatoes with rice, that's it. Not only was the food not up to par, we were sat at a booth in the bar. The bartenders were our server and they came to our table every 2 minutes asking what we wanted, even though we told them we'd never been there and wanted time to decide. Once we ordered our food, the server came by when our moths were full and we never saw her again until she brought us the check. I'm not sure if this was an off night, as I've heard great things about this place. I might try it again if my MIL decides to go, but I wouldn't choose to go back. read more

I ordered the Pauley's Platter (lightly blackened Scallops, Shrimp, & Grouper), a green Salad, a Baked Potato & Okra with Tomatoes. My dining companion enjoyed a Lobster Tail, along with Crab Legs and 6 Oysters on the Half Shell, Sweet Potato Fries,and Sautéed Vegetables. All of our food was delicious. My blackened seafood was perfect. I was able to taste the subtle flavors of everything without the blackening overwhelming them. Also, everything was cooked to perfection. Our waitress was fantastic! I never write reviews but the take-out experience here is unacceptable. They have an online ordering now which is great but not when you show up at the time they give you and wait 30minutes. This is not the first time this has happened and the bar staff does not even acknowledge that you are waiting . Then you get your food And are missing condiments and sometimes even meals paid for. We were warmly greeted when we arrived. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt upbeat. I ordered their clam specialty and it was lackluster. It looked beautiful, but very little in flavor. A side item of loaded baked potato came with a lot of maple bacon and melted cheese inside . On the side was a butter flavored spread and containers of sour cream. I was not a big fan of the maple bacon with a seafood entree. The other order we had was lobster and that was delicious with a side of melted butter. I ordered key lime pie with coffee. They made a fresh pot and it came out steaming. I requested Splenda and it never arrived, but the check did with the waitress asking "I think I forgot something." Good news is the coffee was still good and key lime pie was creamy and highly recommended. read more

What a first meal during our much needed getaway! The salads were fresh and the small sweet hush puppies were delicious.
