Food and service were great! Our server Jennifer was wonderful as well as the food. The She Crab Soup was great as well shrimp and fish platter.

    Seafood fettuccine

Atmosphere is antique and crowded, waitress was very friendly but not as attentive as I expected, she took while to get drinks and salads to the table. Our entrees arrived and the seafood fettuccine was salty and the scallops over cooked. My wife had the grilled shrimp and flounder is waa okay. I ordered an old fashion the first one was not bad and unfortunately I ordered a second and it was all Alcohol. Sorry really can't recommend this place.

The atmosphere was delightful, I loved the old school music. I ate one of the best baked potatoes I ever had. Soft shelled crabs were a little bland. My hubby loved his grilled flounder. Chocolate cake is a must have! Our waiter Caleb was a hunk. Watch out girls.

This place was so good. I was driving from Charleston back to DC and wanted authentic southern seafood. The she crab soup was amazing and the shrimp creole was unbelievable. Glad I stopped here! Can't wait to come back.

3.12.23 It was my MIL's 80th birthday so we booked a room for about 30 people. It was on the upper level, which was good because we were a loud group especially when my husband and his brothers are together. I am surprised we didn't get thrown out. Lol. We were in a nice sized room with a private bathroom, which was very convenient. We had multiple servers. Service was mostly good. A few minor mistakes giving orders to the wrong person, but given our party size it was understandable. The servers came around frequently to ask if we needed anything including refills and they cleared our plates. They provide complimentary hushpuppies, which was sweet and came with honey butter. I ordered the She Crab Soup, which was delicious and creamy. For my entree, I ordered the Crab Cakes from the Petite Plates, which came with coleslaw and one side. I chose the garlic mashed potatoes, which was one of their specials. The crab cake was just average, but I loved the sides. The dressing for the coleslaw was on the sweet side, which I like. I heard from someone in our party that their prime rib which is their special on Fridays is phenomenal. They also have Happy Hour Specials from 4-6pm from Monday-Saturday.

We really enjoyed our dinner at this 25-year young family-operated restaurant. The parking lot was full on a Monday night - often a good sign - and HH didn't disappoint. We were able to get a table right away and were greeted by our very nice and capable server, Ayla. Ayla is a rare breed of server who actually has an opinion about dishes and isn't hesitant to answer questions that help you make a good decision. When we asked, she shared her menu favorites are the shrimp creole and fantail shrimp. So, my wife ordered the former and I the latter in combo with a blackened flounder. We complemented these with a glass of Banshee Pinot Noir (her) and Munkle Pilsner (me). I also ordered a side of Granny's coleslaw and grits. All were very good and the coleslaw was especially interesting (in a good way). We weren't sure if it contains cinnamon, nutmeg or a different spice but it's really tasty and unique. Ayla made dinner all the more enjoyable by visiting with us and sharing her friendly personality, although that seemed to be a consistent pattern with the staff. Granny greeted us as we were leaving and shared some special history of her family and the restaurant. We definitely recommend you make a point of coming here for a meal when you're in Pawleys Island.

She was prompt, attentive, and gave extra attention to details like bringing a plastic plate instead of a ceramic one when I asked for an empty plate for our toddler. We had a large party and that didn't diminish the quality of our service. The food was fantastic. The crab cakes say "no filler" on the menu and they mean it. That was exactly how a crab cake should be made and the texture was perfect. Our party had every iteration of oysters you can get and they were all great. They were accommodating for a member of our party with celiac and her food was exactly what she was promised. Other points of note: Bar service was quick and friendly. The hostesses promptly accommodated our party of 10. The straps on the high chair actually worked (if you're a parent then you know what I mean). And my favorite of all: there was no tv to be seen from our table so we were all able to chit chat without distraction from glowing tv screens. This was our first trip, both to Graham's Landing and Pawley's Island. We typically vacation on Georgia beaches but we will 100% be coming back to this beach and more importantly Graham's Landing.

Those that had Shrimp and Grits commented that the grits were fantastic but the shrimp (that were ordered grilled) had cajun seasoning on them like blacked shrimp - which was not what they were expecting. I had the She Crab Soup followed by a nightly special, Red Drum stuffed with a crab cake. The soup was OK but I didn't actually find any crab in it and it was kinda bland. The Drum was just awful - I should have sent it back but being in a large group I didn't want to hold everyone up. The stuffed Drum was the most expensive thing on the menu. It was tough, dry and WAY overcooked. The top of the Crab cake stuffing was burnt black. I suspect the dish had been cooked a day or two ago and simply reheated. Our waitress was wonderful, fast, efficient and got everyone's order right. She even put the TV on the Atlanta Braves game for us. I would probably try this place again, but I'd just order something fried.

Our first and second visit consisted mostly of the same things: Oysters and Calamari to start, Seafood Mac & Cheese and Fish & Chips. I had the lettuce wraps, which are big, so share. And I had Crab Cakes. The wraps were good but they needed a better aioli in my opinion, because it became a sort of watery dressing instead of something sturdier. And the pico de gallo was not actually that. It was diced tomato, onion and had zero taste of lime, salt or spicy. It was fine but could have been killer. My hubby had the Clam Chowder, Pan Seared Grouper and the shrimp Po Boy. He loved the grouper, risotto and the chowder. The fish was flaky and seasoned well. The po boy needed more sauce but was really delicious. My daughter (16) needed a seafood break since she had the fish and chips the first visit and went with the Claw House Burger. She said it was seasoned and that it was indeed 1/4 lb. And Fish & Chips was the best she had had (which, she's had an incredible amount for her young age) -- not too much breading, nice crisp on the outside and juicy fish. The fries both nights were a little chewy but the flavor was there. And how can I forget. Even though on the second night we saw at least five tables start with the Crab Nachos we added a third item, Fried Clam Strips. Those were ridiculously good. I'm not a fan of tartar sauce so I ate it without and it was perfect on its own. Everything was fresh, they paid attention to detail in most individual elements and the location sent it over the top. Definitely worth a visit.

A table of 4 sat a few minutes before we did and a table of 6 sat probably 10 minutes after them. Our table and the table of 6 were served before the group of 4 who had to ask a bus boy for service. Yikes! Server was sweet besides the empty non alcoholic beverage glasses she did not fill when our food came out. She didn't come back to check in on us until my husband's 6 bites of dinner were already gone. I asked if the portion is usually that small (especially in comparison to the significantly cheaper - MASSIVE PORTIONS we saw being served all around us) and she politely said "yes. typically, sometimes a little bigger." As someone with a culinary arts degree & kitchen background I was very very very disappointed on the portion size of his entree for the price & sizes of surrounding entrees being served (that were cheaper or around the same price) and it literally ruined my entire experience. A smidge dramatic but the God's honest truth! Great view, beautiful patio, friendly service - just extremely disappointed. I planned to order both of us dessert and immediately skipped out & asked for the check when the server finally came over to ask how our food was. This review is hot & cold because my experience was. Would I recommend it? I'd recommend going for the best oysters in Myrtle and a clean, friendly facility - but that's about all I can say! PS - $3 "destination fee?" Clearly I'm not from around here, but it was the only restaurant from north Myrtle down to Murrells to charge us a fee for eating there as a tourist.
