We had heard a lot of good things about Rustic Table, but our experience was just okay. We decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was friendly and made a great lemon drop martini. Our food arrived and it tasted good. What threw me off was when a couple regulars came and sat at the bar. It was clear they come in often, because they asked the bartender about a trip she had taken. The bartender proceeded to tell them how she and her family were sick for the trip and had projectile vomited quite a bit. This conversation was happening right next to us as we were eating our dinner. It was a bit off putting. We will try Rustic Table again, but perhaps we will sit in the dining room next time. read more

Great selection of salad meals - Annie's salad was delicious! Meatloaf dinner, BLT salad and mahi salad were also hits with our group. Service was fast and server was attentive to our needs. Table bread and goat cheese butter was a nice start to a wonderful experience! read more

Came in town for a wedding and came here based off the great reviews. It was a beautiful day so we chose to eat out on the patio and were seated immediately. We started with the fried pickles which were so good. Both my husband and I ordered the Grayman burger which is 2x5oz patties on a toasted butter hamburger bun. The fries were fresh cut and amazing. Flew in to Georgetown (KGGE) for a drop off and grabbed some lunch. Decided to drive to Pawley's Island and see what we find. Saw a full parking lot and decide to try the Rustic Table. Very glad we stopped in. Food was great and the staff was fantastic. We sat at the bar and ordered quickly. Shrimp & grits and Chicken & waffles. Both were very good and served fast. Dropped in spontaneously and was very pleased at our choice. The staff is incredibly courteous & friendly. The food...best chicken pie I've ever had. Gator is great too. I didn't even get past the hostess stand, but I will never return here. We had a large group (willing and ready to split into smaller groups to be seated) and no reservation. The two hostesses that I spoke to first stared at me with smirks on their face and gave me no response when I spoke to them. Then another woman came over and laughed at me and shoved her huge list of reservations in my face, when I again requested for my group to be seated (I made it clear we were willing to spilt up). Loved it. Got today's special - yummy! Tender fried oysters over lettuce with perfectly ripened cantaloupe, raspberries and blueberries. Delicious vinaigrette. So happy we stopped in. Can I just say awesome meal! We arrived to the warm and cozy Rustic Table not sure what to expect. We received great service from the start. We started off with some tasty cocktail...they actually knew how to make a Hot N Dirty martini (no one ever does!). They were even awesome enough to bring my boyfriend the bottle topper from the empty Blantons bottle (which I was told was customary). That right there made my man's night. We then decided to have the calamari special which was tasty. They deep fried the calamari and jalapenos in a cornmeal breading which was a nice change. The garlic butter with the bread we could live off of it we knew it was healthy hahaha. If I can offer any dining words of advice.....GET THE SHRIMP AND GRITS! I have decided I want to try shrimp and grits from all across the south. I have had some amazing shrimp and grits in Savannah but they don't even compare to this dish at Rustic Table. Immediately upon the first bite you are in for a treat. The portion is well worth the money. My boyfriend ordered the Comfy. It was as expected but didn't wow our socks off. The fries were cold by time he got it but overall he was satisfied.....especially when I was sharing my shrimp and grits. We will be back! read more

We moved to this area less than a year ago and this is probably the one restaurant we have gone to the most. The food is consistently has been great. My husband always gets the wedge salad with the grilled shrimp and loves it. Our church group usually has lunch here every Sunday after church and the restaurant always accommodate us. Had an early appointment in the Murrells Inlet area so was looking for a breakfast place close by, but after reading the reviews & seeing the pictures for Rustic Table, we decided to go there for lunch! We certainly don't regret that decision, in fact, we enjoyed it so much that we made reservations for Mother's Day. My husband had the chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes & seasoned green beans topped with an awesome sausage gravy! He said it was the best chicken fried steak he's ever had! I had several options I wanted to try but settled on the chopped salad with blackened mahi-mahi & it was awesome! Who ever thought of black eyed peas in a salad? Yum!! We even splurged on the creme brûlée for dessert & it was absolutely delicious but we really shouldn't have ordered dessert, there was so much food, we were stuffed! read more

Rustic Table had some great qualities but the slow pace really brought this place down in my point of view. I had dinner here with family and on a busy Thursday night. Once we sat down, it took about 15 minutes before we got a server. The interior had the "farm-to-kitchen" feel and at home atmosphere that I really liked. The server was very friendly and had great table side banter. I had the Ms. Anne's Salad with flounder on top. This took too long to come out in my opinion. The menu doesn't state that it is fried, but it is lightly battered. It was an excellent salad and everyone else at the table really enjoyed their meal. Other than the slow service, this place was awesome and I will definitely be back. read more

Where do I start with this quaint place! We had lunch with a party of 9. We were seated promptly in a back room Overlooking a pond with a fountain and ducks. The menu items all seemed appealing and deciding what to order was the worst part. Settling on the wedge salad and mini crab cake appetizer was spot on!!! Oh my goodness this place is my new FAVORITE!! The peach and blueberry Sangria was flavorful and refreshing!! I had the Rustic Caesar Salad with grilled shrimp. Wow this was wonderful and very tasty. My husband had the real taste treat and thank goodness he shared. He had the brisket dinner with lima beans with rice and gravy. The brisket was smoked right there on site. Really delicious Southern food. I had "The Comfy" with grits. The grits were creamy, sweet and had some sweet corn kernels in them. The biscuit was everything a good biscuit should be: light and buttery. Paired with some of the best sausage gravy I've ever had and a juicy, slightly spicy fried chicken breast I'd have to say that this was the best Southern breakfast I've had in a long, long time. read more

I've worked in food service in various capacities in my youth. I most often cook at home for my family and know about how to cook. I've eaten at Rustic Table three times - twice for lunch and once, most recently, for dinner. I've also dined at the companion restaurant next door (same owners), Bistro 217, where I enjoyed a very nice meal and hospitality. As to the Rustic Table, my two lunches were in the average/acceptable range. I recall that the chicken fried steak was greasy and rather flavorless. But the dinner we had there a few nights ago was a disaster. My order was for the meatloaf (with mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans). It came out quickly, but the whole meal was about body temperature, so there's no way it could have been held at a required hold temperature (which is usually about 165F). The meatloaf was about 50% bread, relatively tasteless, heaped on top of some cold mashed potatoes and smothered in some tasteless thick brown gravy. The green beans were a watery julienned canned version. When I responded to the waitress's query about the meal, I said it might taste better if it was warm. She quickly returned the plate to the kitchen and came back within five minutes with the same plate, only now it was volcanically steaming. When I asked if they'd simply popped it in the microwave for two minutes on high, she said "oh, no", of course not. I don't like being lied to. The mashed potatoes were still below temp in the center, under the sheltering mass of the slabs of 'meatloaf', and the green beans had become even mushier. My wife's seared scallops were also lukewarm, mushy, and tasted more like fish than scallops. The third in our party had a salad, but she spent a good deal of time picking through it to get rid of wilted or rotten bits of veggies. When I told the waitress that my meal was unacceptable, she offered to bring me something else, so I ordered the two mini Lump Blue crab cakes. They came out quickly, and in fact had been cooked so quickly that they were still just warm on the inside but completely charred on the outside, even the oil they were grilled with had gone past its smoke point. The little patties were about 2" across and a little more than 1/4" thick. There was nothing lump about them, they were pretty much a paste, sort of like a fish cake. I couldn't really taste much besides the burnt outer layer, struggled through half of one and gave up. I give this place a 2-star rating only because I've eaten there before and it was at least so-so. Otherwise, based on this dining experience, I'd give it the lowest rating possible. I'd have gotten a better meal at a hot dog stand. read more

Definitely a fan of this place. I've been several times now and it's a favorite. Worst part is the parking - I'd honestly never try it on a weekend unless I made reservations. So much of what you get here is delicious - I'm a big fan of the roast chicken and the Rustic Table Caesar salad. Fried beets are good, as well as the warm brie & pear honey. The meatloaf or shrimp and grits are go-tos for a lot of my family & friends. The outdoor seating is tight, but manageable. Very cool feel and design inside. We were so happy to have happened upon this restaurant while we were out exploring the island on our vacation. Our lunch (chicken salad sandwiches and tomato soup) was presented beautifully, tasted delicious and was plentiful. Service was outstanding. We stopped in for brunch with friends on our way down to Pawleys for a little day trip. I ordered the blueberry pancakes and a mimosa. Mimosa was good, pancakes on the other hand, weren't for me. Way way too many blueberries for my liking. Also the menu was lacking a ton, in my opinion. There weren't enough options. There wasn't the option to get just plain pancakes if you wanted. Maybe if you asked the waitress? However, we were shocked. Normally you go to a breakfast/brunch place and there's at least 5 different ways you can order a pancake. And the tab was outrageous. Yes we got a mimosa or two, but my lanta. Nope. I will not be back, for sure. read more
