So we went on a Saturday night. Wait staff did the best they could but held back by the kitchen. Food took forever to come out. I had the filet. Average. The place has gnats that should have been the first reason to leave. They got more apparent as we waited and waited. Our Server seemed to have forgotten us. Then finally we get our food. It was awful the stuffed mushrooms were soggy, the flavor was off. The chicken was rubbery. When I complained to our Server all she could say was Sorry. I won't ever be back. A waste-of $90. Came in at 730pm on a Friday and not one soul muttered a word at any of the the customers waiting for tables . Couple ahead of us proceeded to the hostess area and stood there for 10 minutes without being acknowledged so they left. 5 different staff walked back and forth in front of us, not one had courtesy to say we will be right with you. This was my first time at this restaurant, and I was not at all happy. Is it normal not to be offered a basket of bread with dinner? We didn't get any. The salad was a good start-- it was small, but very fresh with a nice variety of greens. But the shrimp scampi was pretty awful. It came out lukewarm, with very thin and tasteless sauce. The linguini was average. I was surprised that I not was not automatically offered Parmesan cheese. Why did I have to ask for it? I was disappointed that the waitress didn't bring out a block of Parmesan cheese and a shredder, but rather a bowl of already ground up and obviously pre-canned cheese you get in a grocery store. You can taste a HUGE difference between freshly ground cheese and the already ground up stuff that most likely has all kinds of chemicals and preservatives in it. And for this, I paid over twenty bucks? I didn't bother ordering dessert. I just wanted to leave. Aside from not being offered Parmesan cheese, the wait staff was very attentive, friendly, and very nice. That's the only good thing I have to say about this restaurant. I won't be back. read more

I've only dined here twice & stopped in for a drink twice , food was under cooked when I stopped by & ate out back & the downstairs bar seemed kinda grimy, also not a great location for a place with 2 bars 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs because it's literally right nextdoor to the village police station, here's a hint guys no one's gonna order drinks when they parked thier car in the parking lot shared with the police vehicles. We were in town for Legoland and wanted to eat away from the hotel. This place popped up on our list. It seemed like it was in a deserted town, but we were surprised when we entered. The drinks were great. My kids Mac and cheese was excellent, not the boxed kind. I enjoyed the shrimp scampi and my husband said the sauce on his steak was excellent. We ordered zucchini fries as an appetizer. Our waiter did a great job and was attentive. We would go back again if we are in town. read more

The atmosphere is rustic as in the name. There were a handful of other tables but the greeter seemed to struggle as to where to seat us. There was live music on a Friday night which is always a plus. The food was ok. I had homemade ravioli, the pasta was good but the sauce seemed straight out of a can. The salad was premade sitting in a fridge, meh. Even the bread was meh. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious! The Neopolitan pizza is better than any slice in NYC. The fried calamari was crispy and tasty. The french onion soup was perfect. The salads were fresh with the perfect pairing of dressings. The shrimp scampi, steak, fish and papperdelle pasta were all phenomenal. Tony was our chef and he was so pleasant. He took care of us so well. We also have food allergies and he was able to tell me what we could safely eat. I highly recommend this restaurant! We went to the Rustic Wheelhouse for the first time! It was delicious! Home made pasta and desserts! I am gluten free and they offered gluten free pasta which was awesome. I also had creme brûlée for dessert and my husband had tiramisu which was yummy! The plates were perfect amount of food. The decor is clean, neat and relaxing. We highly recommend for regular diet, gluten free diet and children's menu! The owner came and took the time to speak to us and was a wealth of knowledge! read more

Disappointing. I'm visiting from out of state and went to the website to place an order. After getting our order back to my daughters, I realized our charges were not right. I called the restaurant and found out their prices have increased and their website doesn't reflect those increases. Also, when I called I was told we were charged a 4% fee for using a credit card. No where on the website, in the restaurant or in person was I made aware of that fee. I would have paid cash. I will not be returning on any of my next visits to the area. Our family tried out The Rustic Wheelhouse this afternoon for lunch. Everything was quite delicious. I haven't been to this space in a long time, and it looks lovely. It was a very quiet afternoon in the dining room, with 4 other tables filled when we arrived. The dining room is very large and there was plenty of room for everyone. There was only waitress working and she did a great job keeping her eye on everyone. We also had a visit from the chef, and he was very nice, too. Now for the food...I have one son who would like pizza every day, so he of course ordered the wood fired Neapolitan pizza, which he loved. My older son enjoyed the Italian Baked Grilled Cheese, with 3 types of gooey cheese and tomato on 3 slices of Italian bread. A BIG sandwich that was really a treat. It came with a side of fries and most of us had a bite of it. Good stuff. My husband ordered the Sausage and Pepper sub, with cheese. It was gone in no time. And I loved the spring mix salad with chicken and cranberries and walnuts and goat cheese. Delicious! We would definitely go back! read more

We had a wonderful afternoon with Chef Tony and Miss Besseme. Everything was delicious and bountiful.

We went in last night and got there about 7:45. It was busy and we asked if there were any tables. They asked us to sit and one would be ready in a few min. We figured we would wait a little longer bc of how busy it was. We did not think we would be waiting over 2 hours to receive our dinner. And not only that. Not one time during that time did the manager come to apologize. It was only after our food came. And to not even offer a round of drinks while we waited that long. We only had soda and one wine. Very disappointed. I would not go back. We didn't get our dinner until 10pm. Waitress did a great job. It wasn't her fault. But as a manager you need to do better! read more

We visited this restaurant on a Friday night and were pleasantly surprised. Nice country atmosphere and excellent wait service. Our server; Jaclyn was super friendly and explained all the dishes and specials. The food was delivered promptly and hot! Tasted delicious. Just dropped in thinking I would go to Clayton Delaney's for lunch. They're closed Mondays apparently though, so I dropped in here across the street. So glad I did! The bartender John is wonderful... Cheerful, magnetic personality... We ended up staying even longer and got more drinks because he is really fun to talk to! A great bartender really enlivens a place, and this guy is a gem! Worth going out of the way for this restaurant. The building and decor is very authentic rustic rural. The place has a long history over the last 50 years, its great that its still going strong. The food is classic Italian, we had the Calamari - perfectly breaded and cooked with a nice spicy marinara. The Shrimp scampi and Chicken Parm were both excellent. Service was on point, server and management were over to the table frequently. Very friendly people. Even had a visit from the chef. Pricing is very reasonable given the beautiful dining room (have you been to the place across the street?) They have a wood fired oven for pizza, will try that next time. What a hidden gem! We were looking for a place to eat and found this place and we were not disappointed. We got some of the most delicious French onion soup we've ever had, followed by a very fresh and tasty salad. I had the most delicious chicken parmigiana I think I've ever had, the fettuccine tasted home made, and the mozzarella on the chicken was super fresh. The chicken was also really good, most places you get a fatty piece, this piece had NO fat on it at all! Husband had the ribeye and he said it was great, I tried some and thought it was delicious. Our service was great but there were only a few other tables. All in all a great experience and the amount of food we got for the price was great! read more

I just had my wife's surprise 65th Birthday Party there with about 80 people and it was AWESOME!
