Had a lobster roll and the fluffy chowder - such a good lil spot. Food was very fresh and the roll felt like it had a whole lobster stuffed in it. Parking is free if you take it and leave or 10 dollars if you want to sit by the water.

Local here.... Don't go anywhere else. The lobster roll is so much more generous, and tastier, than places like the Beach Plum. The fluffy lobster bisque is $9.95 and enough for a small lunch. The mesquite salad is $14.95 and packed tight. Parking is free for 30 minutes, they have nice benches when you turn right out of the shack.

    "fluffy" clam chowder

We live in the area but didn't know about this hidden gem until reading about it in Yankee Magazine! I was curious to try the "fluffy" clam chowder. They were busy but we managed to sneak our order in right before closing on a Sunday night. The chowder is rich, and loaded with seafood, and came with oyster crackers ($10 for a cup). My husband got a cold lobster roll (light dressing, chunks of raw celery). I got a hot buttered one, which I thought would have a stronger sherry flavor. But both came with chips, had toasted buns, were loaded with meat, and delicious ($30 each). Lots of friendly young people were working franticly to take and serve the orders. Bottled drinks available for purchase, as well as fresh seafood. There is a large parking lot right next to the shack, and picnic tables to eat at near the harbor.

Rich, buttery, creamy lobster bisque with fresh, perfectly cooked lobster. Definitely recommend. Fast and friendly service in a no frills setting. I'll be back for a lobster roll (hot butter of course) soon.

Super delicious! The service was fast despite a big turnout. The fluffy chowder was phenomenal and the lobster roll was delicious as well with good quality meat. There was lots of seating available with a lovely harbor view

Just had a most delicious lunch from Rye Harbor Lobster Pound. Went with my daughter and her baby. We each got Cold Rolls. These sandwiches were packed with lobster meat and served on a buttered toasted roll. Amanda also got a bowl of Fluffy Chowder. We're not really sure what made it fluffy, but she said it was nice and creamy and had a bunch of lobster in it. I got a bowl of Cole Slaw that was very good (I'm pretty picky when it comes to slaw). The roll comes with a small bag of Lays potato chips. Ordering is easy. Go into the shack, tell the friendly staff member what you'd like. Pay. Then go outside and wait for them to call your name. We sat at a picnic table overlooking the harbor with other folks doing the same. Nothing fancy, but oh my goodness! The Lobster Roll was SO GOOD! I recommend coming here without hesitation and will return in the future.

It was my first time trying a new place lobster rolls in New Hampshire. I have my usual go-to places when I visit but stumbled upon Rye Harbor Lobster Pound on TikTok and thought I'd give it a try! I had the hot butter lobster roll (only way to have a lobster roll) I also had the lobster bisque which had lobster meat chunks in it as well as the fluffy chowder which was clam chowder with lobster meat chunks. The hot butter lobster roll was chefs kiss. Perfectly cooked and perfectly buttered. Not too oily/buttery. And the lobster meat was tender. The bisque and chowder were definitely a game changer with the lobster bits in it. I definitely will make this a regular spot when I visit in the summers. On top of the great food, service was quick and friendly! Appreciate the staffs help when we had questions. It's a to-go only place but they have picnic benches along the shore of Rye where you enjoy the ambiance of the coast with your meal. Only down side is you have to pay for parking, buuuuuut, it's definitely worth it!

This was our last stop after driving up north in NH seeing the colors of Fall. I really wanted to like this place, but is just fell a little short for me. Paying $10 to park seemed excessive to start. The lobster roll was good, but it just did not have a lot of lobster for $30. It seemed like 4-5 oz at best. The fluffy chowder and lobster bisque were the best items we had here. Steamers were good, but smaller long necks. Service was friendly.

The lobster is so fresh, I literally saw the lobsterman walking in with them. The roll is packed with meat for a good price and a nice add on to any meal is their "fluffy" clam chowder. On a beautiful day, you can sit sea side to take in the sights and breathe in the fresh air.

Wish we could give more than 5 starts. We had the hot lobster roll, fluffy chowder, and garlic butter mussels (mussels were $3.59/lb!). Everything was amazing. The lobster was perfectly cooked, everything tasted fresh. There's free 30 minute parking for pick up. Grab soemthing here and you won't regret it! It's also a great example of a place run by young teenage staff who do it well.

I was super pleased with their recommendations for my first time cooking a lobster totally solo from start to finish. They could've upsold me on a bigger, pricier lobster given my admitted ignorance. What? They weren't even annoyed that I got there 15 or 20 minutes before close. The young lobster I got was so sweet and flavorful it didn't even need the melted butter or lime juice I had at the ready I was impressed with the amount of meat as well for a little bugger I really can't wait to come back, I love this place.

I've been here twice now both times with my Mom. She chose this place a while ago for lunch. I got…read morethe chicken tenders dinner. It was OK but I wasn't a big fan of the brand of dipping sauce that they carry. Onion rings are delicious & I believe that they are homemade. It's an easy process as you go up to the counter to place your food & drink order. Visible menu on display with prices. You pay, get a number and can go inside & seat yourself. They will call out your number & bring your food to your table. On my first visit here staff was attentive and someone had come by to check on how we were doing & asked us if we needed anything. Not on this trip and it was busier on my 1st visit this year. My mom was craving whole belly clams & wanted to come here. We came around 4pm on a Tuesday. I decided I was going to get a lobster roll as I haven't had one on my visit while here in NH and I was ok with paying the crazy price of $29.99 and boy was I disappointed!! The texture of the lobster was odd.....it was soft, smooth & slippery. I've never had a lobster roll where the meat tasted like this before. Maybe it was super fresh? IDK but the lobster was lacking in the taste department. I got it with mayo. There was absolutely no spices/seasonings in it, no celery for that crunch, nothing. It was the worst lobster roll that I've ever had even the mayo didn't have any taste & I had asked for extra mayo. Oh & the bun, what was that?? One side looked like a hot dog roll & the other side looked like the butt end of a loaf of bread. It was barely even toasted on one side if that. Thank God for the onion rings as they were delicious & I knew that as I had them on my first visit. I told my mom how disappointed I was in their lobster roll and only ate 1/2 of it but due to the cost of it I had asked for a container to take the uneaten 1/2 home. I planned on adding some flavor to it with spices & some more mayo. Well the next day I decided I wasn't interested in it and offered it to my mom who gladly accepted. I asked her if she wanted me to put some seasoning in it & she said "no" well she agreed with me that it had NO flavor to it & was just as disappointed as I was. So unfortunately I don't recommend the lobster roll with mayo unless you like it to lack flavor. This last visit no one came to check on us & I saw 4 different girls in the eating area that worked there. My reasons for the 3 stars: 1. Prices 2. No flavor in the lobster roll, no hot dog bun, nor a toasted bun 3. Gross dipping sauce for your chicken tenders 4. Service in the inside seating area is a hit or miss I don't see myself coming back here unless I'm giving my mom a ride for her to get something to eat. She did enjoy her whole belly clams but even those were expensive. I know seafood can be pricey but I feel like their prices are not competitive with other places that serve seafood. This definitely isn't a fancy place so don't expect it to be. Food is served on paper, you get a little package with plastic silverware & a napkin. Staff aren't waiting on you. You get your own drink up at the soda fountain. These things I don't mind. I just expect my food to taste good & be satisfying which my most recent trip it wasn't.

And they have the displays to match. On this partly cloudy afternoon, I was in search of lobster tails. Upon requesting them, I discovered two things.. 1.) Unfortunately, the tails offered are not very big. Near as I can figure, they come in packs of 3 of what appear to be around 5 ounces each. 2.) Lobster really IS more affordable if you buy it in Maine. For context, a standard two pack of lobster tails at 5 ounces each (or sometimes 4oz) costs me around $25 in NH at the time of writing this review. The 3 pack of the same size tails costs the same price here at Taylor. So, naturally I bought two of those and ultimately nabbed a little under 2 pounds of lobstah for a mere $50. Sufficed to say - we will most certainly return at a future date. I have my eyes set on the fresh lobster meat next. As mentioned, everything in the glass display looked delicious. The place is easy enough to find. Just be aware their entrance is actually not in the front of the building, but on the right hand side. It's a little confusing at first, especially considering the tiny street view sign doesn't help much. If you drive into the "boat drop off" section, you're on the wrong side. Other items I wouldn't mind trying next visit are their lobster bisque and clam chowder. If you're coming across the border as I do, one pro tip I'd offer is to bring a cooler to keep your produce in for the day as you travel back. We transported the lobstah back in my car on an 85 degree day and the gel ice packs kept everything cold enough not to oxidize. Definitely check this place out for all your fresh seafood needs. The locals have spoken and I agree; Taylor Lobster Company is worth 5 fresh, buttery lobstah tails charred on the grill out of 5.

They can also let you pick them live as well but we chose 2 lb ones. They charge $1.5 to boil but it's a-lot of work to boil properly so it's worth it. We waited about 20-25minutes or so and they also chilled it so that we can take it home to eat. Luckily we had ice box with some ice packs so it kept the lobster fresh until getting home. Once we got home we opened the bag to eat the lobster. It's a huge lobster with large claws. We got a large bowl and separate plate to eat. It was a massive task to crack the claws as one of the claw was huge and very tough. We ended up using a hammer and dull knife to crack them open. The meat was tender and sweet. One of the best maine lobster we had. Overall the place provides fresh maine lobster for good price. Only issue is that they don't serve it so you will need to plan to take it home and have tools to crack them open. They also only take cash. The lobster rolled was not dressed like what you'd usually find in New England. In fact, it was lightly seasoned and allowed you to taste the sweetness of lobster meat itself and how perfectly cooked it was! You can't hide quality when serving it almost bare like this that it's a purist's dream! Dang, I can't stop thinking about! The shrimp sandwich was another simple culinary delight executed well. Perfectly cooked shrimp, dressed lightly, on a nicely toasted buttered brioche with crisp lettuce and tomatoes. I inhaled this just as quickly with my eyes rolling with every bite. Dang it again. The gluten-free clam chowder was a great way to finish off this quick meal. Perfectly balanced, tasty, salted perfectly, and loaded with chunky clams. What a way to warm up in this NE chilly weather this time of year. Without even trying their other fresh seafood options, they've already made it to my list of must-visits when in the area.
