This place is the worst. Blasting horrible music, super over priced and cold matzo ball soup. Got up to go to the bathroom, with one of the workers telling me where it was, and I get back to find all my stuff moved near the garbage and another party sitting there... Same server that told me where the bathroom was, told the other people to sit in my seat (he must be slow). As a Jewish guy I was excited to try this spot but honestly I would stay away. Whoever said money can't buy you happiness has never stopped by Rye Society. I've been there a few times for a breakfast sandwich and then a lunch sandwich and that time was probably the only time I ever had to stop myself from going back in to buy another one. The rating for Rye Society was a tough decision for me to make because I can't help but compare Rye Society to other similar delis in the area and beyond it. For the same price as a 5oz at Rye Society, with a bag of Lays, you get what feels like a larger sandwich and a side of hot fries at the Bagel Deli. BD doesn't list the weight of it's regular and double-sized sandwiches but I suspect it's a similar amount. I also found Rye Society's pastrami to be lacking in flavor and required either deli mustard or Russian dressing to make it delicious. It is not bad pastrami by any means, just not as flavorful as others I have tried. If I wasn't comparing RS to other restaurants with similar offerings, I would probably give it 4 stars. Service was good and fast. The quality of the food is extremely high. And the rye bread is absolutely stunning. Finally there weren't any surprises when ordering after looking at their menu before arriving, which is always welcome. read more

Absolutely incredible. Ironically, the outside logo makes the place look like some high end restaurant, but it's a classic Jewish deli. Everything looked and smelled so good, I had a hard time choosing and will definitely be back to try the Hebrew Hammer. This place is phenomenal and you won't be disappointed. read more

This nice Jewish girl hoped for more! The space is awkward; there's virtually no seating, but YAY for Larry David! It took a remarkably long time to order considering we were virtually the only ones there. All food was fine, but not great. My corned beef on rye was weak on the meat, and the bread lacked flavor; I thought $13 was WAY overpriced for what I got (true talk, not just because I'm Jewish!). My friend's pastrami with an egg on a bagel was far more flavorful, and was the best thing my crew got. My other friend's lox sandwich was meh. Coffee drinks were good. Staff was pleasant but not overly friendly. This was a lackluster dining experience overall. read more

I love all of these East Coast classic type of places popping up in Denver! It's been great getting to explore more the Italian style of Denver. Rye Society is a hip spot located along Larimer close to the newer end of all of the action. Upon entry you are greeted by the friendly staff who genuinely seemed happy to help us one Saturday afternoon. We spent a few minutes observing the menu and quickly decided on our sandwiches and took a seat. The seating - ugh it sucks it's like you need a super short torso so sit and actually be able to reach the table to eat. And the cushions on the benches - what's up with that? They are pretty awkward and uncomfortable to be honest. In the interest of full disclosure - I am 5'7" and maybe that's what is wrong here! The food came our pretty quickly and all is made to order which is nice. I had a Corned Beef with mustard (coleslaw and pickle on the side) and my husband had The Fat Jewish (coleslaw and pickle on the side). My Corned Beef was average (the mustard was pretty great, the coleslaw better than average for sure, and the pickles homemade for sure were amazing). My husbands sandwich was better and had a ton more flavor and would be totally what I would get next time. I think in hind site I probably just ordered the wrong thing - thinking classics should be the best but would definitely prefer a combo next time. I also have an interest in trying the Matzah Ball Soup - can't imagine that would be anything less than spectacular. I look forward to what Rye Society will offer me next time. Overall, in my two years in Denver the food scene is getting better and better and Rye Society is certainly a part of that. read more

Amazing pastrami. It's pretty expensive though. But nothing beats it if you have the craving.

We were walking through the art district of Denver and stumbled upon Rye Society. Very glad we did as these were some of the best sandwiches i've had! I met a friend here for lunch and we both had a great sandwich experience. I had a pastrami sandwich which was tasty. The pastrami was done just right and was thick and juicy. The rye bread has a nice chew and the pickle hit the spot. I am excited to visit again and try some other items but it will tough not to get that yummy pastrami again. This place is good but still slow. It took about 30 minutes from when I arrived to when I had my food. Hopefully this improves and it seems salads come out much faster than sandwiches. The pastrami sandwich is very tasty, although I like it sliced thinner but it was still excellent. I hope this place succeeds and they expand the menu some. I had a great experience at Rye Society. From the moment we walked in we felt at home from the employees. We received a free cookie from Yelp and it was very soft and rich in chocolate. The ambience and setting was perfect, it was a quaint place with little seating but fortunately we were able to get a table that day. This concept has potential but there are quite a few things that need improved. I ordered a Pastrami & Sweet Potato Hash bowl. The pastrami was delicious, but it was served in a plastic bowl even when eating in. It looked a bit like fast-food take-out which I definitely wasn't expecting for $12. For eating in, they need to have non-disposable options (all the plastic makes it feel cheap & is incredibly wasteful). Using real plates & silverware could also allow them to have a better presentation to make it feel worth the money. read more

This was by far the best pastrami I've ever had. It might even be one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It was super smokey, tender, flavorful, and lean (I hate it when you get a mouthful of fat!). My boyfriend and I split the 18+1 with extra meat and it was plenty for both of us even though we were really hungry, so while the sandwiches seem pretty pricey they give you a ton of food for it. The side salad was super amazing too with lots of toppings and different types of pickled veggies. The homemade Russian dressing was out of control. The pickles were nice and crunchy and fresh tasting, though I do wish they were a bit more acidic. That's just me though. The service was super friendly, and the wallpaper in the bathroom is covered in puppies and kittens and some of them have yarmulkes on which is hysterical. Had my first experience at Rye Society last weekend. I took my boys to this fun new(ish) deli. We ordered the #18 +1 which was essentially a pastrami Ruben with coleslaw instead of sauerkraut (I love Rubens) and this one did not disappoint! We also ordered the tuna salad sandwich, which came on some nice thick cut bread. We added a healthy dose of their deli mustard! The best surprise to me was their, Dr. Rosen's Feel Good Bowl. A nice size bowl of yummy goodness including, roasted sweet potatoes, mushrooms, curry roasted cauliflower, kale, avocado, quinoa, toasted pumpkin seeds, tamari carrot vinaigrette. Not only tasty but good for your too! I would go back again just for this item. Rye Society has east coast meats and local bagels. I am excited to go back and try many other things (traditional and non)! Thanks also Yelp for the free dessert. We picked the "stuffed chocolate cookie" it was delicious, lucky enough to get this one straight out of the oven, googy and filled with a nice dollop of cream cheese! read more

Terrible customer service, we told the cashier that we'd like chips grabbed some (and paid) and were sitting with friends waiting for our sandwiches. We were accused of stealing chips by the manager and had to show our reciept and talk to the cashier to clear our name. Absolutely ridiculous. Sandwiches are great service is abysmal. read more
