The undercarriage, however, was completely rust covered. After an internet search, I gave Steve a call. He was gracious enough to spend about 20 minutes on the phone explaining to me the mechanics of rust remediation and agreed to take a look at my car. Ultimately, Steve and Rob removed the rust and replaced two safety plates underneath, one on the gas tank and the other on the front differential. On their recommendation, struts, shocks, bushings, and all of the mechanical linkages were replaced. The result of all this work is that I have a 15 year old car that literally drives like new. I cannot say enough about the job Steve and Rob did for me. They were always caring, considerate, informative, and accommodating. And, the price was extremely fair and work was finished on time when promised. Do yourself a favor and give Steve a call if you need a restoration. Get lucky like me and find a couple of mechanics you can really trust.

Here's the thing with old cars and I have two of them. They no longer make the freon to charge the AC, some parts are hard too come by and it costs to repair them. Psst! When you have a Jeep, its a car that will run and run and run... My 2001 TJ, There's 150K on the clock and the engine light came on. I also noticed the tranny was starting to slip. I'm not going to any old tranny shop, I'm going to Goonie's Garage. Meeting with John, the guy is a Jeep Einstein. I show him the car, he drives it and knows exactly what's needed. I go into the shop and see all the Jeeps getting some crazy mods. Lift kits, wheels, and frame repairs are all happening here. My Jeep? I had the frame done a year ago and the transfer case done two years ago. Now the tranny needs work, that's it! There is nothing else to these cars. I dropped off the Jeep and told John to take his time. This is my baby and it has to keep ticking for a few more years. He went to work, he called me saying he found some original tranny tubes from 2001, the replacement tubes being made today wont rot. Yes, I told him to order them as well. After all said and done, I'm seeing better gas mileage? My Jeep is now running like a Swiss watch! If you have a Jeep, don't go anywhere else.
