I have to say, it was a pleasure dealing with John and The Goonies. One of my Yelp buds is always saying, sell the old Jeep and buy a new one. Here's the thing with old cars and I have two of them. They no longer make the freon to charge the AC, some parts are hard too come by and it costs to repair them. Psst! When you have a Jeep, its a car that will run and run and run... My 2001 TJ, There's 150K on the clock and the engine light came on. I also noticed the tranny was starting to slip. I'm not going to any old tranny shop, I'm going to Goonie's Garage. Meeting with John, the guy is a Jeep Einstein. I show him the car, he drives it and knows exactly what's needed. I go into the shop and see all the Jeeps getting some crazy mods. Lift kits, wheels, and frame repairs are all happening here. My Jeep? I had the frame done a year ago and the transfer case done two years ago. Now the tranny needs work, that's it! There is nothing else to these cars. I dropped off the Jeep and told John to take his time. This is my baby and it has to keep ticking for a few more years. He went to work, he called me saying he found some original tranny tubes from 2001, the replacement tubes being made today wont rot. Yes, I told him to order them as well. After all said and done, I'm seeing better gas mileage? My Jeep is now running like a Swiss watch! If you have a Jeep, don't go anywhere else. If I could give this place zero stars I would. My girlfriend and I had a pretty bad flat. We looked up this place to have it fixed and luckily it was about a quarter mile away. We get here and was greeted by a guy I'm guessing he's the owner I ask if we could get help with the flat and apparently this car shop had NO equipment to help fix with a flat. But they do have a car lift to work on cars. He said he can't help "because he has a business to run". However after all of this and 30 mins of waiting in a parking lot with no other customers, they managed to "find" a jack to help sent out a guy much friendlier than he was and he fixed it in less than 5 min. The entire exchange from the beginning was unnecessary we're two women needing assistance fixing a tire in the rain. We shouldn't have been given attitude for something like this at a repair shop! read more

I would give this place a zero if I could!! The owner JOHN has changed since the first few times he has served my vehicle . I had some work done to my car and nothing but problems after . I had to keep bringing It back and he kept giving me the same run around . Do NOT bring your Jeep here . The place has completely changed . Terrible service and not to mention it is almost impossible to get in touch with anyone over the phone . I had to drive to the place just to hear excuses . Good luck!! read more

Searched around for a reputable place to get a lift for my 2019 JL. Called the shop and John answered filling me in on what they had in stock. Before I knew it I had dropped off the jeep and was able to pick it up the next day. Teraflex 2.5" lift kit with Falcon shocks. 10/10 would highly recommend this shop to anyone else. I had brought my jeep here to get maintenance done along with many other upgrades I had plan on having done. I can not really do further upgrades myself due to me not owning a welder or press. Leaving my Jeep at Goonies Garage never gives me those pains in my stomach tho. My jeep is in good hands, I know that for a fact. These Goonie guys are Jeep Guru's. If I could give zero stars I would. Do not go here! My boyfriend brought his 2018 Jeep Wrangler to this shop about a month ago for new tires. My boyfriend is meticulous with his truck, washes it himself once a week. He knows every inch of his truck. When he brought the truck home he noticed that every single rim, including his spare that he has never used, had a serious scratch on it. My boyfriend called to bring this to the gentleman's attention and he point blank said no they didn't. We let it go, whatever, we knew it wasn't us but can't exactly prove it was them. Today we bring the jeep to a shop to have the tires balanced, to our surprise his wheel lock was missing. His entire part holder was emptied out in the glove box. This "shop" was the last to do anything to his tires and the last that would need access to to his wheel lock. This is a $100 part! When we called they said "oh maybe we miss placed it. We have a box you can look through if you want". They could not have cared less! We spent $1,500 at this place and this is how we're treated? Lied to and stolen from?! Go somewhere else the money you save here will not be worth it in the end! read more

Took my 2018 Wrangler JL to Goonie's to install a lift, wheels and tires. John and his staff are superlative and knowledgeable professionals. They did an incredible job and, equally importantly, were fair, honest and clear in everything they did. The price they charged was more than fair, and you should never waste your money doing the same job at a dealership. They will steer you away from a product that may not fit your needs before trying to turn a profit if it isn't what the customer needs. You cannot go wrong with Goonies Garage. Goonies Garage was recommended to me by a friend to take my Jeep there for a lift kit. After working with the owner John on customizing the perfect kit for me, I knew this was the right place. Johns main concern is your safety and the quality of work and parts put in to your vehicle. He is very honest with you and tells you everything you'll need to be back on the road safe, with no problems. I've heard horror stories of Jeeps coming back from a shop with a lot of problems, but not me. My Jeep drives like its brand new. I just went back this week to get more things done to it and yet again, Goonie's Garage completed the work quickly and made it an enjoyable and very easy process. I'm surprised to see no other reviews on this great Jeep and 4x4 repair shop. John took great care of my Jeep! Great service, explained everything he was doing and in the end for the work he did was very well priced. Professional and well done work and installation. He seems to enjoy a challenge and delivers with on time estimates. Very recommended for all your repairs and much more pleasant to deal with than other truck shops on the island. read more
