Located in Centreville, Sõ is known for their delicious Korean BBQ. Sõ has cocktails, mocktails, beer and wine. To start with, they have shareables, soups, rice and noodle dishes. They have three different combination options: Prime Beef and Our Favorite. They have two all you can eat options. Option A is $35/person & Option B is $40/person. There is also A La Carte options. For dinner we had the Beef combination with corn cheese. To drink we had a Lycee Martini and Kloud Beer. Service is great!

This is a great kbbq place in Centreville! I came with my family on Christmas Eve and it was packed, but we had a reservation so we were seated quickly. We got the AYCE option B, which had a few more choices than option A such as squid, octopus, shrimp, and galbi. If you want to go with option B for AYCE, keep in mind that you can only get one order galbi per person. We also ordered a few drinks, such as kiwi yuzu lemonade and the pear bear mocktail. Both drinks were really good, not too sweet with a nice fruit flavor. The meats were very fresh and flavorful. We ordered a wide variety such as brisket, galbi, steak, pork belly, bulgogi, shrimp, and octopus. My favorite was the pork belly even though I usually don't like pork belly as much as other kbbq meats. The pork belly at So was not too fatty, yet had a decadent, rich flavor. I also like that you have the option of choosing whether you want to cook the meat yourself or have a server grill for you. We opted to have the server cook for us and everything turned out great! There were a few times that we wish our server came over more often to help us cook, but it was really busy that night, so service would probably be better on a day that wasn't so packed.

It's been over a year since I've last been here. It was a good place to go to if you're getting AYCE. I went again as I missed the Herb Pork Belly they used to serve. It's no longer on the menu. It's okay though. The curry pork belly actually made up for that and became a top item to get on the menu. Specifically that dish was great as the meat was soft and tender. The curry gave it a sweet touch on top of that. The cuts of meat was still good as ever. My issue is the service I've received. I made reservations for 5 people and when I got there, they lead us to the table and only gave us 4 sets of plates and sauces. I've had to requested an additional set and drink. It's not a big issue at all. But It's been a long time since I've been here. I've asked for the silverware and the server pointed out it was in a drawer. I feel like the server just thinks we know what to do. He wasn't very nice and neglected the table. I'm assuming as the 20% tip was already included, he didn't bother to take care of us as much. We had to ask for extra sauce for the table and only refilled 3 out of the 5 sauces. We also had him come to our table to turn down or off our grill and another girl kept turning it on. I'm incredibly disappointed in the service received. I don't think I'd be returning for a while again.

The price is higher than its competitors in the DMV area and the meat choices are limited. We chose the Option A, the basic level with $35 per person which is more expensive than other Korean BBQ AYCE restaurant's basic level. It only includes three beef items and the rest are chicken and pork items. To get shrimp, squid, short rib, octopus, or intestines, you need to upgrade to Option B, which is $40 per person. The food quality is good, and the servers will help you to cook the food. They are good. The environment is clean and very open. My Korean friend told me the restaurant is very traditional and the food is authentic Korean food.

Pretty solid spot for all-you-can-eat KBBQ. The sides were just okay--standard kimchi, bean sprouts, etc.--nothing too exciting. Meat quality was decent, not premium cuts but good enough for AYCE. They kept the orders coming fast and hot, and the grill stayed clean thanks to attentive staff. If you're craving KBBQ and want to get full without breaking the bank, this place does the trick.

Went here with a group of friends on a whim after a spa day. We had a great time! We were easily able to get a table, but it was busy. We got options A all you can eat. The curry chicken was a table favorite was were the beef and pork bulgogi. The kimchi was also superb! The portions were very big for the 4 of us so suggestions asking for less to start with as to not waste food. The chairs were super uncomfortable. Low to the ground and the backrest was also very low. My one friend said they do this on purpose at all you can eat spots to make folks uncomfortable so they don't stay too long. Unsure if this is true, but it would make sense. Overall, I felt like we got a good value for $35/pp.

Four of us had lunch on a Saturday at 1pm. We ordered the soy garlic chicken, beef bulgogi, beef large intestine, seafood pancake, and dolsot beef bibimbap. The meal included the banchan side dishes (a good variety of 7 types), and complimentary small steamed egg bowl and small doenjang jjigae (soybean soup) which are usually included at Korean BBQ restaurants when you order main dishes. The meat was grilled at the table by one of the hosts. The chicken and beef were really tasty and I recommend them both. They each came with two large slices of onion, so if you don't like a lot of onion mixed in, you should set one or both of those aside. I did not try the intestine, but my dining partner said it was quite good. I don't have a picture of the cooked results of this, but it reduced quite a bit and came out to kind of a small portion. The bibimbap was good and the stone pot came out hot enough to crisp the rice a little on the bottom and cook the added egg. The large seafood pancake was massive. If there are three or fewer of you at the table, I recommend the small size unless you all know you want extra helpings of this. It was very thick and came jam packed with squid and shrimp. The selection of banchan was varied and quite tasty. It included potato salad (very smooth rather than chunky), sour pickled radish/onions/chili peppers, traditional cabbage (baechu) kimchi, a light and mild cabbage/onion/carrot slaw, thin-sliced pink pickled radish (ssam mu), mung bean sprouts, and a seaweed. We got a complimentary cup of sikhye at the end of the meal. It was tasty and refreshing, but I would have liked more bits of rice in mine. Service was prompt and attentive. Including tax, the price per person was the same as if we had ordered the AYCE menu Option A. But not all of us are big meat eaters so the AYCE option wasn't worth it. For the same price, we all still filled up and had a little more variety. Of course, if you go into this place with some serious carnivore buddies, then yeah, go for the AYCE option and go crazy. I did this on a previous visit with other friends and had the meat sweats the rest of the day and evening, but it was worth it.

The space in this Korean barbecue place I think does it for me! It's very spacious. Especially with a seating arrangement of about six people you still have a lot of space on your table for everybody to have room for all the items that they want. to meet quality was also pretty good.

Good place, clean spacious. Service is quick and helpful. Good food choices. Overall a nice place to checkout.

Ask the Community - Sō Korean Barbeque

Is there an ayce time limit?

    Yes hour and a half

How is the spicy chicken always so tender?

It's possible that it's marinated before cooking

What is included in to go meal kits? How much meat is included in the chadol meall kit?

Is there music playing in this restaurant?

Yes, but it isn't at a pounding volume. You can talk comfortably to others at the table.

    Is the meat here halal?

No it's not! You gotta go to New York for halal Korean bbq

Do they always serve the sweet rice drink? I didn't get any when dining in!

I've gone twice and got some each time!

Are they open for Columbus / Indigenous People's Day?

Yes. But avoid this place at dinner time. They'll disrupt you in the middle of your dinner to remind you that you have 15 minutes left to finish up even if they had a burnt out stove and didn't take into account the time it took for them to fix it.

Anyone know what kind of sweet potato side they have?

    No I do not !!

Do they still have lunch specials?

    No they do not :(

Are any sides included in the all you can eat?

Yep! They will come by and refill the sides occasionally. Feel free to request refills as well.

How much is the all you can eat for kids?

Kids ages 0-4 are free. Ages 4-12 are half price ($12 at dinner)

Does So offer gluten free items?

Yes, certain/limited items on the menu are GF.

What kind of sauces do they have?

Sesame oil and gochujang sauce. But this place has more premium meats so if you rely on sauce here, you are doing it wrong.

Do you have to pay for a 2 year old if the table orders AYCE?

No, we don't charge for kids under 4 years old

Do they allow you to split checks? If so, do they have a max number of ways you can split?

    Yea. Whichever u want it

What do they mean by "the first refill is on us" and additional charges apply on the AYCE? Is this refill on the meat or soda?

Hello ☺️ There is no additional charge for the meat, rice or cold banchan (side dishes). They're referring to the steamed egg and soybean soup (dwenjang jjigae) which they'll give complimentary at first. After that, they charge to refill those two.

    Do they take reservations?

    yes!

    Do they serve tteokbokki here?

    I don't think so.

Can I still get the AYCE FOR lunch on a week day for a group of 7?

Yes it's a huge place but it is very popular. Call in advance for party of 6 and above.

The pricing was a little expensive on the kids side ($20 each) for my toddlers and they definitely did not eat $20 worth. This is a review for all people who have been going to Meat Project for a while now and new people…read morewho are interested. Tonight, it was our usual outing as a family to Meat Project for their all you can eat meat and great affordable price. However, our family was very disappointed in the overall service, quality of side dishes and meat, and the owner and server with how they treated us. We ordered couple different meats like pork belly, brisket, and gopchang. We decided to order some lettuce wraps for our meat, which is a common and delicious Korean tradition and combo to wrap with our meat with a special Korean sauce called ssamjang that make the perfect bite everytime. However, after waiting for 45 minutes, while we were eating our meat, our lettuce wraps were being delayed. Now we are fine with waiting but the issue was that our main server told us multiple times when we questioned about the extended delay that our lettuce wraps were "coming out soon" and "the kitchen was preparing it". After the 45 minutes, we decided that since we were basically almost full with our appetites, and coming to a Korean traditional meat BBQ restaurant, we couldn't miss eating it the way we expected, the owner was called so that we could try to get a better explanation and figure out why this was a first time issue for us. The owner who was a Korean woman, advised to us that they had run out of lettuce and they had deliberately rushed to buy more. However, when the "lettuce wraps" we ordered finally came out on our table, it was romaine lettuce which was cut in very thin strips, clearly not suitable for wrapping meat and other veggies and sauce included. The owner then explained to us they had accidentally bought the wrong type of lettuce and apologized the inconvenience. additionally, our main server/waiter was also very delayed in bringing us other side dishes and meat that we requested at a suitable time for us to enjoy, which added to us losing our appetite even further, which we decided even then to let this slide as we could see it was a busy night. After all of this back and forth, the service manager, our waiter, our host, and the owner of the restaurant never managed to apologize to us for making a mistake on their ends, and how they had been informing us incorrectly that the lettuce was "coming out soon". The owner then decided to let us know that we were free to leave, advised us that we didn't need to pay our bill, and never come back again with the most utmost horrendous and unprofessional attitude, making us look like we were the in the wrong. This was clearly a bad night for us after this outcome, after coming here regularly as frequent customers. We warn all of those families who frequent this location. I promise you that I would never go this far , and I guarantee you I am not the type of person to be a Karen, but this simply could not just slide. As a Korean family, we are truly disappointed.

At that time, only parking was at Emerick Elementary School, but there's also closer parking at the community center lot. I actually opted to park in a residential neighborhood, as the street was closer to the event. Well, good thing is dogs are allowed. And I remember it was a "rain or shine" event, which was good, seeing as how it certainly was drizzling at the time -- and likely had rained well before then. A lot of food trucks at the event, in the Fireman's Field area. I beheld a Fords Fish Shack truck, one for a pizza I'd never heard of, and some kind of southern or soul food. No idea of anything, and kinda glad I saw the food truck for the "What the Heck BBQ" at last. This was my first time ordering something here, so at the food truck I just asked for popular choices, and went to knock 'em both out. Brisket and Pulled Pork topped the list, so I got a 2-meats plate with them both, and with flavored Mac and Cheese and Texas Baked BBQ Beans on the side. Packed three small cups of BBQ sauce, one regular and the others of the spicy variant. Ate out at one of the lone picnic tables near the entrance to the park. It was a nice afternoon and the rain had stopped. The brisket was good and so was the pulled pork. I liked the sides more than the main dish, for some reason. Mac and cheese was heavenly but prob had a lot of calories packed in. BBQ beans were spot on, and complimented the meat with their own BBQ sauces. All in all, a close home run and well done for what was essentially a to-go order -- yeah, planning was not outstanding. All in all, great food truck selling barbecue meat and foods.
