We ordered some burgers, fries and a milkshake to go. The star of the show were the fries. The were perfectly crisp and tasted great. However, at a burger place, I was hoping the burgers would have been out of this world great. That was not the case. We got 'The Fatty' and 'The Theta' The Fatty was the better of the two. But nothing too special. The Theta was swimming in a pool of sauce, which made the bun sopping wet and unpleasant. As for the milkshake, we got the banana pudding milkshake. Which tasted a lot like what I believe banana lotion from Bath and Body Works would taste like. It was awful, would not recommend unless you like the taste of chemically grown banana. read more

Our travelling soccer team needed a casual place for a festive meal and some good beverages, and this S&B's really came through. The burgers were all really good, and there were plenty of adventurous options. I had the Ron Swanson burger of the month, and the bacon jam on that thing was awesome. Menu prices were very fair for the nice meal we enjoyed, and the service was absolutely phenomenal. With a big group with kids and multiple tabs, we were going to be tough to handle. I'm a fan of S&B's, but this visit taught me that I don't like all of their burger recipes. I ordered The Columbian with sea salt and coffee. It barely tasted like coffee and had an almost overwhelming amount of salt on it. I didn't send it back because it was tolerable. Now I can see that this burger comes with avocado to mask (complement?) the salty burger. If I order the Columbian again, I will most definitely request no salt or light salt on the patty. The rest of our visit was great. I came here with my family to celebrate a birthday. Our server took good care of us. She made enough return visits to make us feel like we could get her attention when needed. She provided us with a foosball when we asked about how to play the foosball game in the dining room. read more

Food - We had the Porker burger, Sriracha bacon cheesy tots, and mile high nachos. The burger was good and they had several options for swapping toppings. Cheesy tots where crispy and hot. The only issue was with the nachos good taste but, had very little cheese sauce. Service- while our server said they had a new staff, you couldn't really tell because we were seated immediately and didn't have to wait long for our food. It had ranch and a honey bbq sauce with jalapeño served with a side of fries! We also had the Sriracha Tots! The had just the right amount of spice! I don't give five stars often. When I do, it's because the place has something that is out-of-this-world, best-in-class, or because they do something unique. These days, you can get specialty burgers anywhere, but S&B's tripled down on what anyone else had done. I don't really count Red Robin (Yawnnnn), and The Garage may have been open in Norman earlier, but not in OKC. At this point, I feel compelled to give a tip of the hat to Johnny's. I love me some Caesar Burger, and JCB leads the pack since J-Pat's closed (no, they're using the name, but that ain't J-Pats). And S&B was the first to emphasize sliders. They have something for everyone. I've tried several, but I keep coming back to the Fire, the Black and Bleu and the Fatty. A few years ago, I tried several of the local onion burgers. I didn't make it to Nic's, but of Tucker's, The Garage and a few other places, I liked S&B's Fatty the best (provided you have them add mustard). The Fire is my favorite. The green chiles and chipotle ranch give it a kick, but not so much that it covers up the burger itself. The loaded fries are amazing. The peanut butter and bacon fries changed my life. And they used to have these loaded tots with either BBQ sauce and/or sriracha that were so good we had to stop ordering them. We would gorge ourselves, then be too full to enjoy the burger. They're not on the menu, but I'm guessing they could whip them up, if requested. I wish I could tell you about their pizzas and other stuff, but I can't not order a burger when I'm there. Started our meal with some fun chips and French union dip. That was a great 4/5. Then we got the sriracha tots. The flavors didn't mix well but it was still decently good. 3/5. Then we got our burgers. I got the Mac returns and my wife got the bacon guacamole burger. Both burgers were dry and somehow offensive. Both just did not taste good. I would give them a 1/5. Really soured the whole experience. Ambiance was okay. We sat outside because it was chilly inside the building. Thankfully our waiter was cool. That helped a lot. I am sooooo in love! They have so many vegan options! I ordered the "chik'n" nuggets, which are really two "chik'n" patties quartered with sauce in them. It is really good. I substituted the buffalo sauce for the garlic sauce. The only negative was that I could have used more sauce. They also have vegan ranch [HAPPY DANCE]. They brought it to me with celery sticks. Visiting from Dallas and a local friend recommended this spot for dinner. The highlight was the Taco Truck Tots. These things are legit! Order these. Just do it. Crispy, cheesy, the perfect amount of spice, roasted corn. Pure yummm! Two of us split the order, but I would have happily eaten the whole serving myself. Or 2. We regrettably ordered takeout from S&B on 59th and May. My son and husband enjoyed their burgers, although they were not made to order. I have visited S&B several times throughout the years but my last 3 visits have left me feeling extremely disappointed. We have visited various locations and each time the food has been pretty awful. Our last ditch effort was trying this Togo option. My veggie burger was pretty terrible - it fell apart immediately upon removing it from its packaging. I ate a few bites and thought, "well thankfully I ordered the veg Mac and cheese, maybe that will be better"...boy was I wrong. It is the most terrible Mac and cheese I've ever had in my life. I told my husband "this is locker room Mac and cheese"...he looks at me, baffled. I hand it to him to try a bite and he spits it out immediately. I then explained the "locker room Mac and cheese" naming, as the vegan cheese recipe must have come from an athletes toe cheese - yes, I am not exaggerating...it was indeed that terrible. One last ditch to quench my hunger...the beloved pepper jack cheese cubes. Low and behold, they had no cheese in them. When time travel becomes possible, the first thing I'll do is go back in time and warn my younger self about the horrible burger experience that's going to cost him (me) $11.00. After that, I'll tell him (me) the winning lottery numbers that he (I) should spend the $11.00 on instead. Also, I'll probably advise him (me) on choosing a degree with greater earning potential (because winning the lottery is not enough, I guess). As God is my witness, I would have rather eaten a McDouble®. Somewhere up in bovine heaven (it's a thing), there's a cow wailing right now because her body was part of such a travesty. First of all, $4.25 for a slider? I've had my fair share of sliders, and they usually run in the range of $2.00(ish). $4.00+ is some serious state fair-level bamboozlement. I ordered The Fire slider, and the Hot Lips Houlihan (HLH) slider to go. The HLH slider was so awful that I actually start fuming when I think about it. The description mentions grilled onions, green leaf lettuce, kimchi and Korean grilled BBQ beef. What I actually got was soggy, soy sauce covered lettuce, no kimchi (that I could detect), very little grilled onions, and more soy sauce. There was so much soy sauce in the container that the burger was floating in sauce/water; the bun was slimy, gross, and so disgusting that I gagged (after biting into it) and had to throw it away. I kept the beef, which tastes like, surprise, soy sauce. Words can't begin to describe what an infuriatingly terrible burger this was. The Fire slider was better, but does that mean much at this point? The spicy ranch and onion strings made it pretty enjoyable, but the chilies were soggy and took away from the burger. Something else I noticed with both burgers was how sloppily they were made. It's not even like a, "Our burgers are so big and filled with stuff that the bun can't hold it!" kind of sloppy. It's a sloppiness that seems to be borne of pure laziness; almost as if the cooks were playing basketball and free-throwing the ingredients to see if they could get them in the container. After tip, it was $11.00. They may as well have reached into my pocket, yanked out the money, and brandished a bottle of Kikkoman® while cackling maniacally à la the Wicked Witch of the West, because that HLH burger was evil. Evil!!! Rage. Grief. Regret. Betrayal. These feelings... Is this what a broken heart feels like? Thanks S & B's. I think you broke my heart. Also thanks to all of you four- and five-star Yelpers. You had a hand in breaking my heart as well. A lot of you mentioned having libations of some sort with your food, which would explain why you liked the food so much; you were drunk. "Best burger ever!" my brown ascot... I know my rant is (just a tad) melodramatic, but this was, no exaggeration, the worst burger I've ever eaten in my life, and I've eaten at Jack In The Box. It was likely a freak occurrence; I'm aware that I'm floating somewhat alone in this hyperbolized sea of S & B praise, but with a food experience that was as awful as it can get combined with the ridiculous price point, I won't be back for as long as I can hold a grudge (which is quite a while; see Cuppies & Joe). I understand on a Tuesday evening the staff might not be at full capacity. But I honestly felt like the service I received was awful. I came in just before 7pm and sat at the bar. I was greeted by the bartender and asked a question about a special and pretty much never encountered her again. I sat at the bar because I wanted a drink while I waited for my Togo order. The bartender then proceeded to take orders from two other tables and cash another one out before she signaled to the host to take my order. I was never given a card slip to sign or be able to leave a tip. I was also charged an extra $.22 for paying with a card?!? It's less than a quarter, but why...? This isn't a small business that needs to pass on processing costs to its customers. It then took almost 40 mins to get a cheeseburger and fries. I was handed a stapled bag that had no napkins or condiments and wasn't even asked if I wanted some. I didn't ask because after the better part of an hour, I was ready to come home. After having enjoyed S&B for several years now, I popped in yesterday at the May and 59th street location to enjoy my favorite burger. Coming into the restaurant there's a sign that says seat yourself. So I did. It took about 10 minutes in that small space for anyone to greet me. A young long haired boy brought me a Sierra Mist that I ordered and the menu. Eventually this girl who was everywhere it seemed, stopped and let me know she'd get me some water or a drink and my drink was right there and I pointed to it. She then said she'd be back to get my order. About 20 minutes later, as I watched her all over the place (if she was in the weeds no one paid much attention) there was another young man with a nose ring who didn't seem to have much to do until a large party came in, probably larger party more money. I finally got to order and she kept calling my drink water. Seemed a little out of sorts? I got my appetizer and waited for my food. I got the Colombian slider as I had the Cobb salad for my entree, and discovered this location is no longer part of the chain. I don't know if it's because I was alone but the tables who had two or more got way faster attention and service. I used to work in the restaurant industry and this was pretty bad service overall and it saddened me a bit. Looks like the other locations will be much more worth the visit. read more
