I have come here for several years to get my nails done. This past year this place has gone to crap. The prices are never the same. If you leave your teen to get nails done, with specific instructions, somehow the price is always $5-15 more than was originally quoted. (Which I feel is stealing from kids) I could give it a minus in the stars I would . I just left there after a woman sat talking on the phone for 20 minutes after she had me sit down to start my nails. Earlier this year I had an appointment for my daughter and I on the day before we left for our vacation, and the people we had an appointment with did not even show up. And of course being money grabbers like they are they didn't have a class or the decency to call and tell us. And Monday I took girls for before school nails. And ONCE AGAIN price is more than originally stated. This time was because my little girl picked multiple colors. As if they weren't going to have to paint them all anyways. Literally charged her $1.00 per color and NO it wasn't gel! We won't be back! read more

Horrible!!!! My daughter went there to have her eyebrows and legs waxed which she has done many, many times at other places. The wax burned the skin around her eyebrows resulting in raised bumps. The heat was turned down for her legs but the wax was ineffective at removing the hair from her legs resulting in stubble. I had a manicure while waiting for her. The polish chipped that same day. And they don't have a good selection of colors or name brands like OPI or Essie. The manicurist kept pushing the gel manicure. I talked to the owner about my daughter being burned and he could not have cared less. read more

S&D nails salon is absolutely horrible they do not sanitize any of there instruments .got a nail fungus under my nail I have to take Lamisil and also use antifungal medicine to put under my nail I could possibly lose my fingernail because of the unsanitary conditions. I would strongly advise against anyone using S&D's services. Tony was the the tech who did my nails,but he sanded so deeply that it caused extreme pain under the light,and after the treatment,i have caught a fungal infection from the unsanitary conditions.and have to take a couple differnt medications to get rid of the infection.if u would like to see what can happen to you,look up fungal nail infections on youtube.and thats why i would advise against anyone having there nails done at s and d nails in bearcreek oh. read more

The end result is good, and they are very fast(was in and out in under an hour), but unfortunately, there were a lot of problems with my visit that left me disappointed. Hidden charges: I went to get a gel overlay full set which is priced at 37 dollars. When I asked for rounded/French tips, the guy claimed it was 5 dollars more. Irritating, but I said okay. However, at the end, it came out to be 60.85 without tip after paying with a credit card. That kind of difference is unacceptable. Communication: The particular tech I had was difficult to understand,but that wasn't a big deal to me. Just don't expect fluent English with everyone. Nail care: My tech didn't let me wash my hands after my old set was taken off which is pretty gross. Plus, he cut my natural nails really short without asking me! On top of that, I didn't even get any cuticle oil to finish the set. Poor selection: I specifically asked for matte colors, but they didn't have them. Plus, they didn't show any available designs or jewels. I thought it was pretty ridiculous I ended up paying 60 dollars for a super plain manicure..... In the end, this place may be okay to go to for a basic manicure on natural nails but I definitely do not recommend them if you actually have an interest in anything more. Just moved to the area and read reviews from several places before trying this place. Walked in and was immediately (pleasantly) greeted. They placed me in a pedicure chair where I did have to wait for a few minutes, but they were quite busy - didn't mind the wait because the massaging chairs are quite nice! My nail tech didn't say much and when he did he was very soft-spoken, which is perfect because I like to enjoy my pedi and quiet time (-: He did an EXCELLENT job and was very attentive to me and my nails (I have a pet peeve about having my nails done and the nail tech carrying on conversations with other nail techs or being on their phones the whole time). Needless to say, I think I've found my new salon and nail tech - HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! read more

I got a gel manicure and pedicure during my visit. The technician was a male, nice, but his inability to speak English made it difficult to communicate the services I wanted. He cut way too deep into my cuticles on my hands and feet :( which resulted in 4 of my fingers bleeding. He did a great job on my nails after butchering my cuticles. I have been here a few times and I love it! Prices are great and everyone it's very nice. I am getting my toes done now and the lady is so sweet and she is a perfectionist which I don't mind haha. Only thing is she is super super quiet so I an having a hard time hearing her. They used to be great but last three times jagged nails and the gel nail polish on toe and finger nails just didn't last. For the price I am choosing to go elsewhere. I used to love this shop. It took me three more times and almost $300 to regretfully kiss them goodbye. read more

I recently went in to try out the shellac manicure since I had heard it was suppose to last 2 to 3 weeks. After only three days the polish was peeling up and chipping off like crazy. I went back it and explained the situation and their "fix" for the problem was to sand down the shiny top coat and simply reapply the color over what was left of the existing polish. This caused an uneven surface of thicker to thinner polish and some bubbles formed at the corners. The next day the polish was back to peeling up again so I basically paid 33 bucks for 4 days of a crappy manicure. Needless to say, I will never be going back. read more

I am surprised at the 5 star reviews. I was traveling through and needed a quick nail repair. I do not know what folks in Ohio are used to but I am surprised Greene County has not shut the place down. It was dirty, my cuticles were cut and bled. Same instruments were used on different patrons without being cleaned or . Never was asked to wash my hands once. Across the room bottles of nail polish were dropped and all the broken glass was not picked up and it was around the pedicure area. I was sitting there and had my thumbs redone 3 times and just wanted to leave since I felt I was in the little house of horrors, never had trouble getting my nails done before. read more

Being new to the area and seeing the positive reviews, I chose to go to S&D for my acrylic fill. When I walked in, I asked how much they charged and the man at the front said, "$17". The woman doing my nails tried trimming my nails down with clippers 3 separate times. After pulling my hand away, I told her to just file them down. She finally did as I requested. By the time she finished, it was the crappiest fill I've ever seen. She then printed my receipt so that I could pay before she painted my nails. The bill was $22. I said, "Excuse me, Ma'am, but I was told at the front that your fills were $17." She told me that my nails were extra work because she trimmed them down. I reminded her that she didn't trim anything down and that filing my nails down is part of the normal maintenance involved when getting a fill. She refused to change anything, so I asked to speak with the manager. She pointed to the same man at the front of the store who told me fills were $17 when I walked in. I politely asked him about the difference in pricing and he said, "It's not listed on the fill price, but you got a trim. That's extra work." I may have gotten a little salty with him after that. To top it off, I asked my technician (Table 9) if she could present her nail license or certification. She said she didn't have one! Please beware of this poor excuse for a nail salon! read more

I just moved to Dayton 2 weeks ago. As I don't know anyone here yet, I relied on Yelp reviews to chose a place for a pedicure. The wait was not too long for a Saturday early afternoon (5 minutes). The guy that gave me the pedicure did not (or barely) speak English. I'm a foreigner as well, so I don't usually have a problem with that. Bit at least you need to understand the cusyomer. If you dont know what a hot towels is...well...So he started by cutting my nail. Told him they are too close to my skin and pay attention. As he couldn't understand a word, I showed him. Of course he nipped my skin twoce. Then he filed them (including my skin) with something that was vloser to sandpaper than nail file. This time took my skin off. Never put the cuticle softner on my toes, after rubbed them with lotion, never rinsed them with soap and water. Sprayed a little alcohol and let it dry out, didn't even wipe my toes. Then the paint job...ohh emm gee, the worst ever. Did not cover the whole.nail, it was bubbly...just really bad. VERY bad. I was sitted in a chair next to a lady and her daughter. It was her first time.there as well and not happy either. Needless to say, none of us will return for a crappy 30 dollars pedicure. I don't even know why I tipped him... read more
