So I'd like to start off by mentioning that this is my first winter where I'm in charge of a building that needs oil refilled regularly. After looking at a bunch of options, I picked S&D oil because of their rare combination of excellent reviews and low cost, and because John made a great first impression on my vetting call. I signed up a few weeks ahead to get a first fill in mid-November, mistakenly thinking I was leaving plenty of buffer. I didn't keep an eye on the gauge, and he hadn't quite made it to us when we ran out... on Thanksgiving morning! I called in wondering if anyone would be picking up messages on the holiday. John did within minutes, and came out and filled our tank right away, saving us from a very cold holiday. He was completely gracious about it, without any hint that perhaps there were places he's rather be on Thanksgiving. We waited until after he'd left to open the bill, wondering what kind of furnace priming and emergency service charges we might have racked up due to the worst-case timing... and found he didn't charge us a penny above the oil itself. John is great. I needed fuel oil delivery the week after the snow storm of 1/4/2018. Prices were really high and no other company was delivering to Belmont including the folks I normally used. I called S&D Oil, John picks up the phone, clearly he is working, there is background noise. He is very polite, says they can deliver next day or if things run late possibly the day after. They delivered next day. Their price was pretty much the lowest. I would definitely recommend them. read more
