Two additional companies came in and told me that is not correct. You pay for labor and provide all the materials. Read your contract very carefully. Representative said one thing, but did nothing that was discussed. I basically paid over $20,000 to have a tub removed and a shower installed. I can't give them any stars.

They came on time and were very neat and efficient. I had not cleaned my windows in years and they were a real mess. When Nelson was done they are gleaming. I especially liked the way they initially sprayed the windows with some type of cleaning solution; and then, rather than just letting it drip dry, they went back and individually squeegeed and wiped down each window. Now that is service. And I greatly appreciated it. My patio had also not been powerwashed in years, and was a real nightmare. When Nelson was done, it looked brand new (see photo). I didn't even realize how bad my driveway looked, and had not originally thought to have it cleaned. But after doing the rest of the house, Nelson suggested that we do it to really "complete" the project. And while it did cost a little extra, the end result was well worth every penny (see before and after photos). Finally, aside from his work ethic and professionalism, Nelson is just a very nice guy - very personable and friendly. I highly recommend him.

The actual appraiser only takes calls for rough 2-3 hours out of the day. However, they will make time for you and give attention if you write a bad review. Then and only then will the appraiser reach out to you and give you the time you deserve as a basic human being. My appraiser absolutely lacked attention to detail which I identify as laziness. He missed obvious items in my home such as HVAC vents going into rooms. Because he missed this the square footage was not used. 341 square feet was dismissed as a result of his laziness. He did not includ updated HVAC systems or appliances. Nor did he initially value the proximaty to downtown compared to the comps used. His assessment was less than the appraisal done 3 years early. Even with my specific property taxes going up twice by Fauquier County in 2 years and nearly 100k dollars in upgrades. I can't emphasize to our community enough the lazy work these people do. The appraisal had to be redone and he once again left out square footage of the home. This caused a two week delay in getting my home refinanced. Time I didn't have which pushed our renovations back. Additionally I had to give him comps in the area since he used homes with lots half the size of mine. He also used comps with less square footage. As a veteran I warn all companies and individials to go somewhere else for their appraisal needs. If you are on a tight time line also go somewhere else. They have no sense of urgency. It was only after I stated I was writing negative feedback that the appraiser reached out directly. It's pathetic we couldn't start talking to them directly. They don't value your time or the multiple hundreds of dollars you spend for their 1 hour of work. Mortgage companies also be warned. Go somewhere else for your clients. I have also written a formal letter to the Veterans Administration.

We got several estimates, and PDG was the lowest by far. We contracted them to do the work, and they agreed to come out the following Saturday. WSSC turned our water off 2 days early by mistake. One call to Ken and our water was back on a few hours later! Their work was professional and meticulous. The job turned out to be twice as difficult as was first expected, but that was not reflected in the cost. This is after he repeatedly told me via text that he would pay me for my financial losses. See attached screenshots. Ken promised via text IN FEBRUARY 2023 to repay me for my damages. That did not happen, and it is now May 2023, so I've now filed a complaint with the state licensing commission and will take him to small claims court, if necessary. The state licensing committee told me he has prior complaints. This past October we contracted with FloorGem to remove carpet and refinish the wooden floors…read moreunderneath as well as refinish existing floors in upstairs bedrooms. Bottom line up front - the floors look pretty good given their age but there were big misses in terms of communication and quality of work. If you are recovering floors under carpet as we did, I'd strongly recommend pulling it all up first and then get an estimate so you know what you are dealing with. The work was set to start on a Monday, moving the furniture out to a Pod for storage and then refinishing to be done by Saturday. The movers (recommended by FloorGem) contacted us and we set up their coming by at about 11am since I had a doctor's appointment at 9am. While I am being examined by the doctor I get a call from Ken (FloorGem) that his carpet removal people cannot get in as no one is home. There had been absolutely no indication that anyone from his team was showing up Monday morning, and how could they do their work anyway given the furniture was still in place? They ended up going to another job that day. Movers showed up on time and did an excellent job. Tuesday we get a text that part of the floor is in poor shape and boards really have to be replaced. That was always a potential so we simply had to accept that and move forward. However, when I dropped by later that evening to see for myself I was quite surprised to see that the work crew had "hot wired" their sander into our electric junction box in the basement, running a thick extension cord up to second floor where they had started sanding the floors that day. No one had mentioned that this would be necessary, and I have no idea whether the person doing this was a licensed electrician (highly doubt it). Thursday morning I get a call from Ken that sections of the floor in LR and DR have darker stain on them. I dropped everything to go home, thinking Ken would be there to discuss options but instead it was the work crew. The lead was very helpful, pointing out the stain and showing me how it would look with a couple of different stains. I picked the one that seemed best, as replacing these boards on top of those already replaced was not in budget. As noted above, if you are in a similar position wanting to recover those original wooden floors under carpet or vinyl, get that stuff up first so that you can better assess what is involved and what compromises you may need to make. The job was completed on time and we were able to move back in the following Monday morning. Given what FloorGem had to work with, the floors look pretty good. However, the quality of the work was a bit sloppy in parts. Stain was splashed onto baseboard and on the railing, even some stain on LR wall which thankfully Mr. Clean Magic Eraser handled ok. The wooden lip that transitions from the LR to kitchen is too high so that we can no longer close that door. I checked the junction box and, so far as I could see, appears reassembled properly (but still not thrilled it was done). Also found a cell phone (not ours) in basement, texted FloorGem to ask if it belonged to their crew but no response. So in brief, the floors look fine but we now have other issues to address to get everything in an acceptable state.

We hired Cole Construction Co. to put an addition on our house in Fairfax County. It was a simple…read moreaddition of 2 bedrooms and a family room off of our existing home. The project was to take about 90 days to complete. After a year and a half the project was still not completed and I had to terminate their services. During tbe construction my heat pump was removed by the HVAC subcontractor for non payment. The addition was 4 inches higher than the existing structure. One bedroom was built with the existing electric meter on the bedroom wall. Contracted materials such as Anderson Doors and windows were replaced with inferior brands. Material from my trash i.e. broken boards were used as closet shelving. After I removed them from the project I spent over $500 to finish the job. One of his employees backed into my car and they refused to pay for the damage. When I finally sold the home I had to pay $1500 to have the circuit box corrected since the breakers did not match the circuit box ,a code violation. Also the a/c in the addition barely put out any air. Jack Cole stood on a chair touching the vent to try to feel cold air. Stay away from this company.

The paint they used on my ceiling is glossy which doesn't match the flat paint I already had..just an altogether messy job that cost me way more than what it's worth. Now, a year later my brand new cabinets are falling apart . Sorely disappointed in this business and would never recommend anyone use them ..save your money and frustration and please go elsewhere.
