I called to get a quote to have my new studded tires mounted and balanced. I told them the rims had no sensors and no tires currently on them plus they have valve stems already installed. This was going to be a carry out transaction, meaning they were not going to remove or install them on my car. He said $180.00 I was shocked to say the least. I told him that was ridiculous, and he told me I wouldn't find it cheaper. The next tire shop I called just down the street was $80.00. CROOKS!!! read more

Driving around in the rain in a 2001 sedan and fishtailing, needed new or barely used tires right away. Called Saul and he had a set of 4 barley used tires for 1/3 the price of one new tire elsewhere. I have great tires on my sedan now, took less than 20 minutes, could totally tell the difference in stopping and control on the way home. Everyone there is nice and friendly and the shop has a happy teamwork feel. I will definitely return should I need more services like brakes or alignment work. read more

Buying used tires is not for the faint of heart I was impressed when I dropped in to S&S Tires on a Friday afternoon. There were three people on duty, and both the shop and waiting room were clean and orderly. I was greeted promptly and immediately shown three options for my SUV for complete sets of used tires. I settled on one set of Continentals, but when I took a closer look they had some rubber missing on the sides so I went with the "best" option, a set of like new 10 ply Michelin's. It was another $70 for the set, but still about 1/2 the price of new. I was assured they were balanced and water tested for leaks and I was on my way in about 1/2 hour! Keep in mind that to use a credit card there is an additional 4% fee. Two days later, I realized two of the tires were loosing air, one quite seriously. I have a compressor and it was no problem to fill them up and come back in. Both had holes in the sidewalls which are not repairable. I'm not sure why that was not caught during the initial water test. They had one more Michelin which was quickly mounted, but they had to give me a "loaner" tire while they searched for a replacement. When I came back the third time, they were expecting me! Saul (the owner) had not been able to find another Michelin so he had set aside a brand new set of Atlas tires for me. It was a very thoughtful and accommodating gesture. However, they were not heavy-duty tires like the Michelin's and were actually one size smaller than my stock tires. I do have to say they are quieter, track great and will probably even give me a little better gas mileage. But I could have bought Discount Tire's entry-level tires for the same price. I did like my experience at S&S. But if you don't know how to inspect or value used tires, or can't afford to potentially make a return trip, you might want to buy new instead. read more

At first I thought it would be a good idea, I was definitely wrong!! I regret stopping by to get an estimate for my brakes, well as soon as they took a look at them they gave me a big speech on how unsafe I was to be driving around like that, told me that at other places it would be over 1000.00 dollars, and that no where else it would be as cheap as them. On top of that they said they hadn't ate so it would be some time before they would get the job done. I came back and the total turned out to be 600+, Saul told me it would be 100 for labor so I didn't understand how it became to be 625$!! Today I went back to ask for a list of prices for the parts so I could understand it better and he told me he couldn't do that, that he can't write everything out on the receipts, what kind of business doesn't write everything they sold to you on the receipts?? Anyway never coming back here again!!!! Al principio pensé que era buena idea, pero me e dado cuenta que fue un gran error! I caught a flat on a pothole late Saturday night a few blocks from my house... Called S&S right after they opened on Sunday to ask if they had the model Michelin (presently fitted on all my wheels) in my size, their employee told me he couldn't look up models of tires but that they had "thousands of Michelins in my size". Once my car was towed there I called again and when I spoke to a different person I was told there were no Michelins at all in my size. After I voiced my disappointment in being given misinformation I was given enough attitude to merit this review. I was told I was lucky that they were even open on a Sunday. When I stated that I wouldn't have had my car towed there if I had known they didn't have my model in stock the response was "Customers like you just don't understand..." and then "you know what, why don't you come by and just pick your car up?". Needless to say I needed my car for work so I called back, apologized for my tone and was given a rate on some decent Walmart tires (Nexen). YMMV, But I should have known something was up when the AAA driver asked why I would have my car towed to them (full disclosure his brother is an ex-employee allegedly). In my years of being a Portland resident I've bought many used tires for both personal and fleet vehicles and this was my only negative experience. I'm not one to typically write negative reviews, and at the end of the day I got a decent price but not after a some legitimate animosity and false information. I'll make it a point to find the tire shops I've had positive experience with to write them reflective reviews here shortly. read more

Not only have I gotten two different deals for the same tires a week after, which was the only reason I bought from this store (second offer was cheaper from different guy here). I told the employees that my car wasn't going to make it up the lift and he said drive faster! Cracked my oil pan and lied to my face right after saying they only hit frame. An education on customer service is just the start of what your business needs. I'm extremely disappointed that a local business that we would have gladly supported decided to send out a "salesman" with zero respect, education on tires and who merely thought he could get over on us. We came in with our old vehicle, and the "salesman" tried selling us 2 USED tires for $75 each. In shock (I've never purchased used tires ANYWHERE that were that price), we said that was too much for two USED tires. We politely showed him the price for them brand NEW, and explained that paying full price for them USED was ridiculous. His response with snarky attitude was "maybe they are too expensive for you." We could have insulted you back in several ways, but that doesn't resonate well with us. I'm not sure who this gentleman is to EVER speak to a customer that way, but your business will not flourish having that "salesman" approaching any of your potential customers. Take your business elsewhere. The customer service, price and dumpy business need a lesson or two on running a business and life. read more

Unfortunately, my experience at S&S was disappointing. When I called in, they told me that they had some Continentals that were the size I was looking for. When I got in there, the guy showed me some Wanlis (he told me that they were affiliated with Goodyear) and some Yokohamas. Of course, I opted for the Yokohamas since I had never heard of the Wanli brand and I had a good experience with Yokohamas before. After waiting for a while, the guy comes out and tells me that one of the Yokohamas were damaged and he asked me if I wanted to put the "really good" Wanlis on the car at a discount. I was apprehensive since I was worried that Wanlis were not a good tire. But, regretfully, I trusted him and told him to put them on. He mentioned nothing about NO RETURNS. I don't know if it was, but it really felt like a bait and switch type of deal. After driving the car for the rest of the day, I noticed the tires were extremely noisy and didn't feel right at highway speeds. So, I got curious and looked up Wanli tires. From what I could find, they are about the cheapest tires you can buy and I couldn't find any affiliation with Goodyear. I decided to order some better tires, have them installed at a reputable tire shop and return the Wanlis to S&S. I go ahead with my plan and get the new tires put on my car. They weren't even the most expensive, but they felt much better than the Wanlis. So, I go to S&S to return the tires. First, the lady there told me NO RETURNS. I explained what happened and then she told me that she would still have to charge me $100 for labor and restock. After arguing about it for a few minutes, she said that she was going to still charge $60. At this point, I was pretty frustrated and mentioned that this is not a good way to run your business and you will be losing customers if you treat people in this manner. She said "they were doing fine and don't care about losing one customer." Very poor customer service. They really should be more honest about the products they are selling and be more clear about their NO RETURNS policy. I would not recommend this shop. I believe they have a lot to learn about running a good business. read more

I want to start off saying this is the most unprofessional tire shop in Aloha. I called up my local S and S tire shop, being this location in aloha. They answered the phone and right away were upright disrespectful. The employee was aggressive and didn't even try to work with me. Simply asked a question about used tires and if they had my size in stock. The gentleman on the phone yelled at me saying he had no clue what I was talking about. I tried again this time being the upmost professional and gave him the details exactly. He yelled again saying no and had no idea what I was talking about. I asked to come if I should stop by for better understanding and he continued to be disrespectful. Leading up to me hanging up on them. No business should ever treat their customers like this.
