Two issues recently had me giving a call to the only company that I've learned to fully trust in terms of reliability, quality workmanship, friendliness and value for the dollar. 1.) Garbage disposal replacement - Done quickly and efficiently. 2.)Faulty water heater componentry - I was advised by my tech to contact the manufacturer as my WH, according to the serial number, was still covered for parts with three months remaining on the manufacturer's warranty. They installed my tankless water heater and have done maintenance on it and fixed a leak in the condensation drain. The plumbers are always friendly and don't try to upsell me, and I feel like they do honest, good work in a timely fashion and arrive on time, they're not the cheapest, but they are very good and I would recommend them to anybody. Amazing amazing amazing. From past experience, I have been gouged by plumbers more than once (even ones I crossed referenced on Yelp/ Google AND NextDoor! ). When another plumber couldn't unblock my sewer line, he quoted me $3,500 to bring in a camera and hydro-jet. At $3,500, I wanted to make sure to do my homework and asked Beagle for another quote. I explained my situation to Jade at Beagle and she sent the right guy! Our clog was definitely no joke but Juan was able to address the issue with a camera and a snake. The invoice - $220!!! We are having Juan come back to do a full plumbing assessment for us since we don't trust our contractor did a good job w the plumbing. We own a property in Hermosa Beach California. Over the years we've had many plumbing issues. We've used several local smaller licensed plumbing companies in order to save a little money but as the problems kept coming we decided to call SP Beagle. This company came within two hours of our phone call, their technician was professional and address the problem. We found out we had a serious issue with the "main drain" The local plumber we had been using quoted us a dollar amount to fix it. I told SP Beagle what the smaller company was going to charge and Beagle said they would do it for the same amount. They came out the next day and professionally repaired the issue, cleaned up everything and charge us the amount they promised. While most of the large plumbing companies are commission based, SP Beagle is not. Their technicians are not looking to up-sell their services. I highly recommend this company. read more

Let's just start with the fact that these guys charge $200 per hour, which is really high for the industry. But they don't tell you what they charge, initially they just said "we don't know, we'll decide after the fact how much we are going to charge you." They also padded the hours, telling me that the guy showed up at a certain time, when he actually showed up at least 30 minutes later. It took them 4 1/2 hours over 2 days to clear a clogged drain, and they charged me $800!! (they told me it should have been $900 but they were cutting me a break) In the process of clearing the drain they did serious damage to my kitchen cabinet. When I told the company about the damage, and sent them photos, their response was literally (and I quote) "oh it's inevitable that damage will be done." So why didn't they tell me beforehand if it's a foregone conclusion? And why on earth is it inevitable that a plumber will cause serious damage while clearing a drain? I have spoken to 2 contractors since the work was done, and both were shocked by that. But now you know that if you use these guys, it's "inevitable that damage will be done" to your house. So after they left, suddenly the water pressure was really low (only for that faucet where they were working), and there was a leak under the sink that had not been there before. They had to come out again to repair that, which took an hour. I thought since they caused the issue, and damaged my cabinet, that there would not be an additional charge, but nope! She told me that it would be $275 (I guess the hourly rate went up from $200) but that they were only going to charge me $175. And as a kicker, after the drain was fixed they reinstalled the pipes incorrectly (not to code), causing a potential hazard, and now I have to get a different plumber out here to correct that! read more

Pros - Sage, receptionist, was initially pleasant on the phone. They provided me a time and materials based quote. They were able to get me in the next day which is what I requested. The job was small, estimated 1-2 hours and completed it in that time frame. Cons - The technician showed up later in the 2 hour window, spent 5 minutes on site, then left for a 1 1/2 lunch. He returned and started the repair and finished in 1 hour and 1/2. I blocked out 4 hours in my schedule to deal with him, but with the delay I told the repair tech that I had conference calls scheduled in the afternoon that I couldn't escort him out. I instructed him to finish the job and I would call the office and provide my credit card information. He said it was company policy for the tech to collect payment. I said that due to the delays, I work from home and have calls I need to take. I gave him $20 and said, don't worry, I will call the office and pay. I finished my call and called the office to pay. They gave me a price and I asked for a breakdown of the charges/see the invoice. Between Sage and what i presume is the owner was told how inconsiderate I was not to pay the technician, that I was rude not to escort out the contractor, that I didn't need to see the invoice, I should just pay. They were very rude and unprofessional to say the least. They begrudgingly sent me the invoice which I promptly paid. There was absolutely no excuse for their attitude, raised voices and inability to see my perspective and accept a credit card payment over the phone. read more

They successfully replaced leaking plumbing lines under our house by rerouting and installing new lines, flushed our Noritz tankless hot water heater, and fixed a slow leak in our toilet. All jobs were completed in a timely manner and everyone who has been at our home has been extremely knowledgeable. They also make sure things are done correctly. After the new plumbing lines were installed, our hot water wasn't working, and Sage, the owner, came to our house right away to diagnose and fix the problem. The receptionist, Jade, is highly communicative and easy to work with. Spoke with Justin at the office on my first call. I had a leak issue in a condo that I'm in escrow for, and he had his guys out in a couple days. A prior plumber who had been out said there was no issue, but the home inspector suspected more... Glad we looked into it further! SP Beagle's service techs came out, cut a hole in the ceiling, worked with the neighbor upstairs to confirm there was indeed a leak that would have caused me a LOT of grief had I closed escrow with that ongoing issue. The SP Beagle guys replaced a wax seal on the upstairs neighbor's toilet, and confirmed the leak was resolved. SP Beagle to the rescue! These guys are busy because they're so good! Horrible experience. Our ejector pump was not working and we had a backup in the sump. We called SP Beagle, letting them know the problem we had. They said their costs were very reasonable, but that they would charge us $115 to diagnose the problem and would apply that amount to the cost of the repair. The plumber came out and diagnosed the problem in about ten minutes. Said it just needed to be cleaned out and that the sump needed a new lid. The estimated cost of the repair, which might take an hour to perform - a ridiculous $600. It turns out they didn't even diagnose the problem properly as a broken float rod was the real culprit. The rod is a $2 part. The lid recommended by the manufacturer was about $45. So, the one hour repair was going to be parts of roughly $50 and labor of $550!!! We called the company in disbelief of the estimate and they had every excuse in the books as to why the cost was so high, including saying they were going to use a $200 industrial grade lid, which would be way overkill for our house (per the manufacturer). The company's representative, Justin, could care less and just said that they are not the cheapest plumbers around (quite an understatement). The owner didn't want to get involved despite us being referred by someone who has referred a lot of business to them. After several attempts to get all or a portion of our $115 returned due to their bad faith, we have disputed the charge on our credit card and are writing this review to warn others of their unscrupulous practices. read more

1 star because owner called me just now blaming me for not using them after they failed to return my call TWICE. One of the most unprofessional experiences I have ever had. Highest inspection fee of any shop i called ($115!). Didn't even tell me about the fee over the phone or at meeting. Just throws it at me after I went with someone else when they left me without hot water all weekend. Told him over the phone if he can't show up that day I would go with someone else, now he acts hurt because I actually did so. I want hot water, bro. I call back same evening as the (3pm) as inspection Friday morning, i get told person who handles the call will call me back immediately, never does. I Call back noon next day and he tells me he never got a call, and last he spoke was Friday morning. And now he can't do my heater today. Now he calls me Monday, complaining that I called after hours (they closed shop at 11am, I called noon), and he tried calling me twice before then. He literally just told me Saturday at noon the last he talked was Friday morning. Where are these other two calls suddenly coming from?! No, guy. I called you twice. Read your phone records correctly and stop complaining. You dropped the ball. I liked them up until this fiasco, but if this dude answers all customers like this, wouldn't recommend a plumber who literally calls you and complains that you did his job without him. read more

Broke Expensive Faucet Chris from Beagle came out to fix a clogged kitchen sink. When he left, the $650 Grohe faucet began leaking. It had never leaked before Chris came. This is the faucet that Chris installed 8 months earlier. They called it a coincidence; charged us $115 to come out and diagnose the leak as a broken faucet. The pipes for the faucet are a few inches away from the drain that was unclogged. We were on vacation at the time and when we returned and called them, they came to the conclusion that it was just an incredible coincidence. They then suggested that we hire them to come out again for $130 to SEE if they could fix it. read more

Our outside lines were clogged and causing a back up of yuck in the downstairs shower. Made the call to SP Beagle and only waited about a hour before Bruce and Christian came to the rescue. They were extremely kind and capable. Diagnosed the problem and fixed it same day for an extremely fair price. Sage the owner came as well and said they would even empty out a much neglected hot tub in the backyard as it had potential to cause more problems. Bruce came the next day as promised and was gracious enough to perform this task at no extra cost. Would definitely recommend this highly ethical and competent crew. A sprinkler valve to the main water line at my house broke after hours on a Friday night, and we had to shut our water off. When I called, the owner Sage answered, asked me to send some pictures and called me right back. We were lucky that he had the parts in stock and he was so nice to come within the hour or so to temporarily get our water back on that night. After the weekend he came back and fixed the problem with our sprinkler valve that wasn't hooked up correctly. His office staff was so nice and helpful as well. We will definitely be calling them again if we have any plumbing issues. read more

These guys are the best! They are always there when you need it. We bought our house this January, and about a month after we moved in started having major plumbing issues. I was 7 months pregnant, and whole house started backing up and sewage was overflowing. A total nightmare! Beagle plumbing was there ASAP, got the house flowing and cleaned up. They snaked the main, which got things going temporarily... A month later, and the house was backing up again! I called them, and they came back out to get it done right. The owner came out to diagnose the issue. He used a high tech boroscope, and found the 'root' of the problem - tree roots in the main lateral. They went above and beyond to fix the issue since it wasn't fixed the first time they came out. They had to cut out a section of the lateral, and instal new pipe in our yard. They didn't just dig a pit in the yard, they cut out our sod, and put it all back together whey they were done. They also thought ahead, and added a clean-out so that we could access the lateral in the future. Since we have a large tree, we would likely have problems with root ingress in the future, but with the clean-out we can just water-jet them next time. Really knowledgeable team. Fair prices. Fast service and great customer service. I'll call them every time. read more

For the second time in 2 years our water pipe underground between the street and our condo unit had a bad leak. The copper used when the condo was built in 2000 was very thin and poor quality. The owners of all 3 units decided to completely replace the water lines from the street to each unit. Sage from S P Beagle Plumbing had excellent solutions for every problem, some which none of the other plumbers making bids had thought of. He had the best of the 3 bids, but we would have chosen him even if his bid was not the best of the 3. The work was started when scheduled and completed in 2 days as scheduled. This was a large project and there was a large, excellent crew doing the work. They were all very professional and all the work was high quality. Everything was kept very neat. They installed a Flo by Moen valve. It started leaking. I called them to come out to fix it. The plumber blamed my gardener for hitting it - said this was causing it to leak. I talked to my gardener, who denied this, but who said he'd nonetheless be very careful going forward. It started leaking again. I called again. They fixed it. This happened a few times. Their 'fixes' never stopped the leaking. I searched the internet and didn't find anyone else reporting leaks from this device, so I think it's a bad installation. I called them again and they said it's out of warranty, even though it has been leaking the whole time. They said I had PVC piping? But I'm unaware of anything like that - don't see any now or in the pre-pictures that they required. They said someone else worked on it? That's not correct either. It seems like they're just looking for excuses not to stand behind their work. In summary, this is not a plumbing company I would call for anything. read more

My washing machine backed up and overflowed while my husband was out of town and SP Beagle happened to be working on a neighborhood house.
