I've had shamrock do several things for my home. They replaced a water valve in my backyard, A faucet in my bathroom, A faucet in my kitchen, and the handles for my shower. They have screwed things up on half of the jobs. In my shower they caused a leak that flooded my ceiling and poured through to the first floor (I didn't have any leak before they came). Because they screwed this up they had to cut a hole in my wall and spray paint my ceiling in multiple follow-up visits. I give them two stars because at least they continued to come back to try to make it better, but we eventually reached a point where we didn't want them in our home. read more

Please read this before hiring them. Sorry it's long, but it's important if you don't want to get screwed! My family & I have been loyal customers to Shamrock for over 15 years. My grandfather hired them many times, my mother worked w/them frequently over the last 5 years, & I recently hired them for several plumbing requests. Until recently, they have been fantastic! With Luis being their lead & ensuring that everything in the field was done above expectation. There were never any issues when they were working w/my grandfather & mother. As soon as my grandfather passed, & they had to work solely w/my mother as the head of the house (a female vs. a male), the problems began. Now working w/me as the new head of the house, they have been nothing but rude, demanding, & unprofessional. This will be the LAST time I will EVER be working w/them again since Luis has been promoted & is no longer in the field, leaving Paul as owner to run the show and deal poorly w/customers. After multiple back & forth conversations & a detailed email regarding the work that needed to be done, workers were sent to complete the work with LITTLE TO NO INSTRUCTION! They had no knowledge of the detailed email & did the bare minimum of work while they were at my house. Things like installing my kitchen faucet backwards because the soap dispenser was in the way of the handle, without even speaking to us about potential solutions (such as not installing the soap dispenser) or letting us know that it would be backwards! Leaving 5 feet of piping in our driveway that they removed & replaced w/copper piping (but just left their trash behind). Throwing out the entire installation box from the kitchen faucet, including any additional parts, instructions, & registration information!! Leaving the sensor for our new faucet just dangling under our sink without even attempting to properly mount it. Lastly, we have requested MULTIPLE TIMES for them to update our records to my phone number & remove my mother's number. Yet they are still calling on her phone instead of calling me. Their work & attitude during the entire installation was completely unprofessional & absolutely unacceptable. We contacted the office to discuss the issues w/Paul, as well as calling Paul on his direct line which he had personally provided to us. He was on vacation at the time & was not happy that we were contacting him regarding this job, again. Once he returned from vacation, he showed up at our house & demanded to know what the problems were...obviously already annoyed and w/no seeming interest as to how HIS CUSTOMERS were treated. We explained the issues & were told "well, my guys don't act like that, they are just quiet". When we again attempted to explain the situation & our dissatisfaction w/the work, we were told to "shut up" so that he could talk over us! His demeanor & attitude were so abrasive & brash that I could hardly believe we had been working with them for over 15 years. He put my mother in tears before he left! As this was MY first experience w/Paul, I can definitely say I would NEVER be interested in working or dealing w/him or his company EVER AGAIN!! When it came time for us to pay for this pathetic excuse for work, we received an invoice & called to make a partial payment. Being loyal customers for over 15 years & ALWAYS paying our bill in full (frequently before the invoice is even received), you would think that breaking an invoice up into payments would not be a problem. We made one payment last month w/no issues. However, when calling to make the second payment this month, we were questioned on if a payment arrangement had been set up w/Paul. Then advised that he would be calling us promptly. Paul then called to yell at us (not discuss anything, just bark orders) yet again & demand immediate payment. Stating that we have to ask him to in order to be able to make any payments. He then threatened to put a lien on our house!! There was no inquiry regarding if we were having trouble making payments, empathy for a 15-year customer, ZERO cares were given! Now, if this invoice was for thousands of dollars...I would maybe understand. But it is for LESS THAN $300!! So apparently this is now the type of company that threatens its customers instead of trying to find a solution. They must be really financially hurting for our invoice to be affecting them so intensely. Don't waste your money or your time trying to deal w/them. They will simply overcharge you, misunderstand your needs, & then yell at you for their misunderstanding. Definitely look elsewhere for a local plumber! It is sad that this company has gone so far downhill, as they have been our go-to plumbers for over 15 years. But they are not the same company they once were. We have never even received an apology for the way that we have been treated by the OWNER OF THE COMPANY. Everyone has bad days or miscommunications, but the way that this situation is being handled is appalling. read more

We called Shamrock when we had a leak in a $650 kitchen faucet that had been installed by a different plumber 9 months ago. Shamrock took a look at the problem and didn't charge us for the diagnosis. They suggested we call the faucet manufacturer (Grohe) because of its warranty. Grohe was very nice, figured out the likely issue, and sent us a part. Shamrock then came back out and installed the part. Our previous plumber just told us we needed to go and buy a whole new faucet. So we saved $650 by calling Shamrock! I have had 2 negative experiences with this company. I am a Realtor and hired them to perform a sewer camera inspection for my clients. They performed the inspection which was to include a dvd recording for my clients to view. When my client's tried to view the dvd there was nothing on it. I left several messages which were not returned. This made me look bad. Second negative experience was when I called them to give an estimate for my parents house to fix several plumbing issues they had. Luis came out and looked at the issues and said he would send us a written estimate. We never got an estimate. I called Luis several times and every time he had an excuse and said he would send us the estimate which he never did. I would never again use this company or refer them to my clients or friends. read more

DIDN'T CHARGE US!!! We had a really bad odor coming from a newly remodeled sink that we couldn't figure out. We thought that since the sink was so new that we weren't getting any rot in the overflow or around the drain. We thought it had to be a problem with the trap and we were worried about sewer gasses since it was in our master bedroom. Shamrock showed up (he was so fast I didn't catch his name) and quickly spotted the problem. Our new fancy drains have a new feature, a hair catcher.....you pull the drain out and it catches debris from the sink. This sounds like a great idea except that it can cause the rotten smell in days! It looks like I'll be cleaning it weekly :( I asked what the charge was and he simply smiled, shook his head and refused to take any money. A really awesome guy. With service like that you can guarantee we will be calling him anytime we need a plumber in the future. read more

The good - Rick was knowledgeable and explained everything. The bad - He didn't have the dishwasher hose on hand, even though I called specifically to have the hose replaced- he could have been more prepared. He took a good 45 minutes to make a home depot trip (home depot is only 1.2 miles away from my location) The ugly - I got a bill for $140 for a simple job of replacing a flexible dishwasher hose. There was no bill breakdown. The hose didn't cost that much, and took all but 3 min of his time replace the hose, so basically he's charging me $100+ for his time at Home Depot. :( read more

This is a great company and though I only spoke to the owner (Paul) a couple times, you can tell it starts at the top. If you're like me and you get totally overwhelmed with home repairs that are above your pay grade, the most important thing is that you can trust the guy (or girl) doing the work. My water heater was old and began leaking. I called Shamrock Plumbing and setup a replacement. The plumbers Sergio and Adam showed up on time and went to work replacing the water heater. Due to the age of the pipes they had to replace several pieces and 2 valves. They were quick, professional and friendly. The job was well done and everything works great. Unfortunately by the time he called me back, I had another plumber at the house. Paul warned me that this company would try to charge extra and so he recommended calling him back if we felt their estimate was too high. Sure enough, Mike Diamond came back with a $600 estimate to replace a cap on a pipe. I called Paul back, gave him the estimate and he said he could do the job the same day for $125. A bathroom pipe was leaking in my vacation home in Orlando, and then it became completely detached and all hell broke loose. I jumped on Yelp and searched for emergency plumbing and came across Shamrock. Fortunately for us he was in the area and he was at our house in about 10 minutes. He came in, saw the problem, worked is magic, stopped the water from flowing and detached the broken hardware all in less than 5 minutes. We asked him how much and he said he wasn't going to charge us. This is someone we've never met before, came over at 10pm at night, took his time to help us and didn't want any compensation whatsoever. If I could give him more than 5 stars, I would. This is the second time I have used Shamrock and could not have been happier each time. The first time I had a leak in a 2 story high ceiling pipe and they were able to locate the pipe- repair the leak and only had to remove a small part of the ceiling to do it. This most recent time I had 3 faucets to replace and a clogged up sink. It ended up being a big job in terms of both removing the existing faucets that had been there for way too many years and then unclogging the sinks. There were issues with all of it and the gentlemen they sent were pleasant and professional and easy to work with. Additionally each time I called the phone was answered immediately and an appointment was made right then. Shamrock Plumbing has my business for life! We started having problems with an obstruction in the gas line leading to our cooktop almost 2 years ago. Another company came out to clear the line with compressed air, only to have the problem reoccur a few months later. After 2 more clear outs, the other company stated it was time to either switch to an electric cooktop (which we didn't want to do), or replace the gas line, which would require our front concrete patio and wood floors to be torn up. I called Shamrock and after some research, they came up with the solution of cutting the pipe at the 45 degree bend and clearing out both pieces to ensure there were no obstructions getting caught at the joint. They spent a lot of effort digging up the pipe and excavating UNDER my patio, instead of demoing it. They ran wire and air through the entire length of the pipe to ensure all debris was removed - and like magic, our cooktop worked again, better than when it was new (because the pipe was partially obstructed from the beginning). The crew was on time, neat, courteous and most of all, very reasonable in costs. I've had Luis fix a few other items in my house and he always comes up with the best solutions in terms of fixing the problem at the lowest cost. If we had gone with the other company, we'd be out thousands of dollars now. Shamrock Plumbing is different in that they do what is best for their clients, not what will make them the most money. If you are looking for an honest and reasonable plumbing company, look no further! read more
