Our A.C. blew on 4th of July and S.Z. answered my call and was able to send someone over for a very reasonable price considering it was a holiday and weekend. They were able to diagnose my issue over the phone and it was verified when they came. They were very communicative over the weekend in part availability, transparent about cost, and more than punctual. S.Z will be my go to HVAC from now on. I feel like I was cheated by this company. The technician came to my house for an A/C tuneup and barely looked at any of my equipment. He just eyeballed everything and said it looks fine. He then just went straight to filling my unit with Freon which he said I needed 3 pounds of and only spent about 5 minutes filling it up which I think was way too fast to fill up 3 pounds. That makes me think I either didn't need that much or he didn't fill it up enough and charged me for it. I will not be using this company again. read more

Came over my house today on a Sunday with no air-conditioning. Only charged me a service charge of $89. You just don't see this anymore.

I have been using this company for few years now . My sons live here for the most part . When the company comes , they go over all problems w me first explaining on phone w a son watching them . They leave my air conditioner , in summer , furnace w heat in autumn , always working efficiently . I'm not ready to buy new units , I'm hoping to get the most of out of my units before I need to! They always make things work perfectly , and even with repairs through the years , prices are fine with me with the excellent service I get . I worry , they come , they fix things up , No more worries, thank God ! They are in business for years , and they don't kill me with the bill, so I'm very happy. They were here today , furnace not working . They fixed problem, which could have been worse!!! Arrived on time . All is well . I can only hope it works well for another winter ! I'm grateful !!!! Top Notch Customer Service! I've been a customer of this company for the last few years and have yet to be disappointed by them. They've repaired my furnace, replaced my central AC unit, and done the annual maintenance checks on these systems to ensure they're in good working order. Each time they come, they are friendly, professional, efficient, and thorough. What I appreciate on top of their work is how much they care about their clients. Jerry and George will always walk me through the work they're doing and why. They'll also follow up to make sure my systems are running smoothly after any major work is done. Recently, they went above and beyond by helping me with my water heaters. I wasn't having any luck with any reputable companies and SZ Mechanical came through for me again. I merely reached out on a whim to see if they had any good recommendations and they directed me to James (Jimmy) Walsh from Victory Plumbing & Heating. Not only was he a good recommendation, but I appreciated George reaching out to check in on me about the safety concerns Jimmy raised about my heaters and on how the work was going. We have been loyal customers of SZ for many years. They were always very reliable and communicative. Today, we had need of a heater repair. The very nice technician came on time and fixed our heater. Instead of paying by check we wanted to pay cash so my husband had to go to the bank and get the cash. We could've Venmoed the money right away, but Jerry told my husband he doesn't prefer Venmo. The technician had to wait a little bit (less than 15 minutes) for the cash and we got yelled at on the phone by Jerry several times for making him wait. I asked him about Venmo and he yelled at me "are you telling me how to run my business?" I don't know where this anger was coming from and as a long time customer it was totally uncalled for and very surprising. We didn't know how long the repair would be or how much it would be. As a loyal customer for many years both my husband and myself were shocked at the disrespectful, rude and volatile way we were spoken to. Jerry's behavior was very unprofessional and way out of line and it's a shame, but we won't be using or recommending SZ again. We probably won't be getting an apology but we certainly deserve one. They advertise after hours service, so you can access them if it's an emergency. They also guarantee their the work they do for a year (only parts and service they covered), so that's also good. The guys seemed to know what they were doing / talking about. C However, I was dissatisfied with customer service. Perhaps the rep was having a bad day? Perhaps other reps are more polite? I can only speak from my experience. They literally walked around the house freely. They talked down to us (pretending to make phone calls while they were clearly opening their photos app before bringing it to their ear). When we asked them questions they were rude, short, and walked away before we could reply. Literally called out system a "piece of Sh!t" and pressured us into using their service. When they finished and we commented on their quick service they snapped back "what do you think we've been doing this whole time?!" - why did they start to do work on my house before receiving our approval? And I will be removing your business sticker you placed on my property without asking. read more

Stay Away from this company - I had them recharge my central air conditioner with a Special offer of 1 free pound of feon. They came and told me that my compressor had no freon at all. It needed 6 lbs of freon at $90 per but with their special they would only charge me for 5 lbs. So I had it done. My air conditioner is now again blowing hot air gue to a leak, but I will not call SZ Mechanical as I found out that I have a 64 oz or 4 lbs Air compressor. So I see ad in the paper $50 dollar tuneup great my a.c unit is getting old but works great a tuneup is exactly what it needs. Guy comes to house turns around and hands me a bill for $2,950 tells me I need a new unit and that's what it's gonna cost him to fix it. I turn around and tell him there is nothing wrong with my a.c puts me on the phone with his boss. Boss calls me "kid" I'm a 25 year old man with 2 sons I work 55hrs a week. Then offers me the $50 back. My a.c has not worked since he left these people scammed me. What kind of business offers the money back? read more
