Expectations can guide an opinion. And even though I was hoping for a great time at Biba, my expectations were exceeded. We grabbed a last minute room in West Palm Beach to stay one night while we went to a local event. I was happy we got the last room available at Biba. I had heard good things and looked forward to it. When we checked in, a really nice guy set us up. He explained all well and told us we had the room upstairs. Biba has exterior rooms and they have rooms in the main house. Ours was the latter. It was a quaint room, and that was a good thing. It was a studio so it came with a extra couch too. All were nice. It wasn't fancy or anything, but I didn't expect that for what we were paying. The room overall was solid. Breakfast the next morning, which was included wasn't anything to brag about. Juice, coffee and breads. For someone hoping for eggs or any other protein I was a little let down. But again for the cost of the hotel, I didn't expect a big spread. I know there are other spots to stay in WPB that would be nicer, but I'm sure the next time there's a mini stay-cation Biba will be one of the places I will consider to stay at. read more

Don't stay here. I booked throuugh Expedia, and thankfully they were able to get me a full refund. The hotel description wasn't accurate. Small, dirty, nothing nearby. When I asked about the hotel bar, the desk clerk lied and said it was under construction. She also lied and said there was a bar across the street. We made other arrangements and then she told Expedia tthat we had stayed there one night. I had to get them the receipt from where we REALLY stayed to get her to process a refund. If this looks like a quaint boutique, don't be fooled. It's a dive. read more

Everything was just a little ~off~. There were no decorations on the walls, which was fine it just felt a little bare. The combination of the white, cold tile, the white walls and the white sheets and pillows just made it feel a little hospitally. Then, there wasn't a blanket on the bed and when we asked for one they gave us more sheets. I don't think they actually owned blankets? It kind of felt twilight zone esque. Almost like a fever dream. The whole hotel was small so there was no place for breakfast or anything. Or we didn't know about it. The location was good. The bathroom felt newly refinished in a bad way. Like they weren't done cleaning the grout off the walls and shower but booked the room anyway. We did have to cancel one night because it was the weekend the pandemic started and the world shut down so we had to fly home early. They did not give us a refund and that was frustrating. My friend and I (who stayed there) frequently recall how odd and weird (not bad necessarily) the Hotel Biba experience was. I don't know, if you're into the things I just said, go for it! read more

Biba is just wonderful. While I agree with the previous comment that it could be so much more than it is, it's current state is just fine. It is in fact, a motel, not a hotel, but don't let that deter you. The rooms are kinda damp, since it's a motel but it's Florida, so it is what it is.... Biba was totally within my budget and had a great funky ambiance. Someone obviously spent a lot of time and love giving Biba personality and the result is a chic, but not too cool for you, West Palm Beach experience. If you want a predicitable HoJo's experience, then Biba is not for you. Biba's landscaping and layout are what makes it so cool .The magnificent palms and Floridian flora are well tended. I especially dug the bar/courtyard area, which would make a dreamy spot to get hitched. The pool is also GORGEOUS. Bartender was awesome, but the bar wasn't very well stocked with the exeception of a million kinds of vodka. The rooms are all different, and I love the funky touches like sparkly shower curtains. I appreciated the light (but uninspired) breakfast that was included, which I ate on the marvelous patio outside the bar. I would return to Biba in a heart beat. I really, really loved Biba. Location is an easy drive to the heart of West Palm beach. BTW- the way this place is laid out with the main courtyard and the room clusters make Biba absolutely perfect for small weddings. Nice Staff... Not So Nice Hotel. Looked for hotel to stay in for one night, found Hotel Biba on hotels.com. Called and they offered the same rate as the website, no discounts what so ever ... $160 a night. Looking back this was too much for this stay. $100 would have been fair, maybe. Location was good, but nothing to jump up and down about. The hotel room was a bit small, the walls were dirty and worst of all there were dead killed mosquitos and blood splattered on the walls from past guests.... There were also live mosquitos flying in the room and the AC did little to detour them. The mattress was very low quality, bouncy, no support and thin. Pillows were no better. Speaking of thin, the walls were very thin. We could hear the bathroom from one room and talking from the another. The AC blower motor speed was also quite low... it cooled the room but not quickly. Overall this was not worth what we paid unfortunately. Ill give it two stars for staff kindness and offering breakfast, but the room and value are quite subpar. They offered us a 10% refund when I explained the mosquito and no sleep situation... but this didnt take the bad taste of my mouth. I wont be returning unfortunately. read more

We got tickets to SunFest, for Saturday. 311 was the last band playing that day so we knew we would stay 'til the end. Based on that, and knowing we would head up early, we thought it would be a good idea to get a room and stay over, and enjoy the weekend. Now, we kind of waited to the last minute to make a reservation (well, about 3 weeks prior to the event) so most of the hotels were already booked. Thinking, it's only for one night, we picked one of the "lower end" ones that was available but, lucky us, I got an email 2 days before with an offer from Hotel Biba. It seems they had a cancellation, and as I had done one of those "reminder things" on the hotel booking site, I got the email. This was perfect! This was one of the hotels we were looking at to stay but was sold out. How great is that?!!? Saturday around noon we arrive. Guy at the valet shows us where to park - parking is free for hotel guests. As soon as we are walking towards the reception area, the host meets us and welcomed us. We were a little early for check-in but thankfully room was ready so, after getting our parking pass, map of the hotel (including pool, restaurant, and rooms), and two vouchers for free sangria, we went to our room and were really happy with it. We got a studio on the second floor of the main building. The room was bright, with natural light, making it feel even more spacious than it was. Comfortable, clean, and cozy. Bathroom was on the small size but not terrible, again, clean so no complaints. There's a sitting area right outside the bathroom, with a sofa (turns into a small bed), table, and counter with chair. A semi-open wall separates the bed and closet area, and right in front of the bed, is the TV. Honestly, what else do you need? On top of the nice room, we were no more than 15 minutes (Uber ride) to the Festival, and Clematis. We were able to walk to dinner, and back, in that same amount of time. And every time we either came in or out of the hotel, we would be greeted by the person at front desk or wished a great day, always with a smile, and some nice friendly conversation. Breakfast was included... nothing fancy, some pastries, bagels, cereal, yogurt, coffee, tea but, enough to sustain you until you go out for something else or lunch. Right where the breakfast is served, turns into a restaurant after 10am, where you can have brunch, lunch and dinner, and redeem your Sangria voucher or just go sit at the bar for a drink. Bartender was great, and helped us find our dinner place for that night. So glad I got that email and that I didn't delete it as I do with most of them. The location and ambiance of this hotel was perfect for that weekend, and honestly will consider it for the next SunFest and any other time we want to do a "staycation" in Palm Beach. read more

The pics I viewed on their website are obviously dated, Hotel Biba has not weathered the years as their pics would indicate. The free continental breakfast was pretty basic. Call me crazy. I happened to love it here. I stayed for 4 days and though the room was kind of weird with no dresser and just a small closet, it had a giant TV, comfortable bed and was big enough to where I just laid my suitcases out on the floor and was just fine. All the staff were terrific and the room was immaculate. I liked the outdoor dining area and breakfast bar, the pool was nice, the grounds and the various plants were inviting and well kept. The location is very good too, very convenient. I would definitely stay there again. read more

Mixed feelings... I was in town for 24 hours on business, and this was the ideal situation, just a bed for me, a place for my car, in a central location. The price was good for a place to sleep, shower, and park. However there are no "perks". I had the bedroom next to the breakfast room, 7am-10am guess who could hear every word of the people in there... me! There were cigarette butts all over the courtyard, and in the morning I awoke to at least 10 centipedes in my room. Also, the breakfast was barely a breakfast, they had boxed cereal and danishes. Not even fruit. All in all, it was a good price and served my purposes, however I would only go here if you need a quick place to stay for business (free WiFi, free parking). Not where I would go if I was on vacation or with my family. read more

Nice staff all around but hotel was mediocre. Lots of mosquitos in the room. Even found smashed dead mosquitos on the ceiling in room and bathroom walls (guess other tenants had the same issues). Kinda gross. The room we had, had surprisingly dirty walls, which made the room feel really, really dingy. Bed was completely bowed, so neither of us slept; pillows were pretty horrible, clumpy and flat. One of our towels has two very noticeable dark red stains on them. Next time, toss them. Don't put them in the room. Just felt dirty all around. Granted this isn't an expensive hotel, but would have expected much more for our money. Too bad because it's a good location and cute hotel from the outside. For that price, I think I'll go corporate next time. read more

I always book this hotel when I visit west palm beach, and used to enjoy it. But on our last stay, it took a long time for the front desk to check us in, he was with someone who had a stack of paperwork - we're not sure what they were doing. In his haste, he never mentioned a check out time, and I never thought about it. I did ask for a quiet room. We were put in the room with windows are next to the pool chairs, and the back wall was against the housekeeping room. It was not quiet... even at 10pm people were out talking loudly by our window at the pool. The room itself was dirty, had what looked like a booger on the wall next to the bed, and food pieces and paper left from the previous guests on the floor. When we went to use the ice box it was half full of old water that got everywhere. In the morning, the front desk guy came to my door instead of calling first, to say we were late for check out. I let him know I wanted late check out, and he said that was impossible. I argued with him in my pjs with my hair not done, that there was no way I could be out in 20 minutes like he was demanding. I said most late checkouts are 12:30-1:30 and it's never been an issue for me at any hotel before. He said I HAD to be out by noon. So we were forced to stress and rush to get ready for a wedding that day. I called to ask to speak with a manager, but was told they don't come in before 3. I also sent a copy of this review with photos to management and have had NO response at all - so now I am posting it. read more

This is an odd duck in a great location close to the beach, downtown, and plenty of restaurants. Don't set your expectations too high or you will be sorely disappointed. The room was tiny, but it had a bed, a small desk, and a bathroom. Notice I didn't say dresser, chair or fridge. You stay here if you need a place to lay your head for less than 100USD per night. (I probably wouldn't stay here solo as the area is a bit sketchy) The room comes with a free continental breakfast and a coupon for a gratis glass of sangria. We throughly enjoyed the delicous pastries and bagels in the morning and loved the Basque at Biba restaurant located at the hotel. read more

It's a weekend getaway for me so Hotel Biba serves the purpose just so. The best part is I got the room with a 3rd night free discount from the hotel website ;) The room was simple and clean. It's a block from Flagler Dr and the beautiful pedestrian walkway along the water. It's an easy walk to Palm Beach as well. The room is simple and sufficient, the bed is comfortable. There is a basic continental breakfast at the bar area where the garden is. On the other side of the courtyard is the pool which is a good size. It's a quaint and safe place to be. My landlord had to replace some plumbing in my very small apartment the same day I was diagnosed with the flu. So I needed a place to take my Tamiflu and sleep without breaking the bank. Hotel Biba is lovely - found a room with a king-sized bed for under $100. Clean, simple, quiet, nicely appointed. Free parking, too. Nice big swimming pool but I'm too sick to swim. If you're looking for a cheap, inexpensive, clean pad for vacation than this is the place for you! The good: the staff were relatively friendly and helpful. The place was very clean and cozy. It's close to PBI, the city and i95. Great location. Breakfast is included and it was what you would expect, it was not horrible by any means. It was quiet at night. Price was 100% affordable. The bad: Not much to say. There was no hot water in my room which was a disappointment and after telling the staff, they claimed they were gonna send someone to check it out but it was never fixed (not a big issue we were only there a couple nights). The pool was closed and according to many reviews that's a common thing so don't book this if you're looking for a place with a pool (again, not a pool person so no issue for me). Parking was pretty awkward but nothing too bad. And I don't think there was a maid service, i was there for 3 days, 2 nights and our place was not straightened up at all, no towel replacement (again, short stay, no issue for us) Honestly, all together, there is not much to complain about and the above mentioned issues are minor, nothing that ruins a trip. Overall definitely worth it for those short weekend trips or school breaks. 90% would come back! Worth checking it out. Thumbs up from me! read more

This place is absolutely ridiculous. DO NOT STAY HERE. If you noticed there were previously posted pics of boogers on the wall, holes in the wall, etc. Wait until you see what I have to post. My stay was quite amusing, sad part is I had no where else to go so all I could do was complain. To begin, I checked into room 102 of this motel that they claim to be a boutique. I saw brownish red splashes on the wall, but wiped them off went out for a bit then returned. Upon return I found a few ants, called the front desk Matthew says they're out of spray and it will arrive in the morning. We said ok and proceeded to try and fall asleep. The walls are so thin, some fool was up video chatting or talking to herself out loud for 4 plus hours. Mind you it's now almost 5am. We decide we can't get any sleep and asked for a room change. We move to room 126, even worse we should have stayed with the ants. The head board was so dirty that you can see the thick white dirt on it, there were boogers on the walls, the entire bathing area in the bathroom from the windows to the floor was molded...mind you I started cleaning before taking pics (that's my fault) needed that to add as proof of this non-sense. Off to complain again, spoke with Ayer and Toy after snooping around I saw a bigger better room, at least I thought. Now in room 127 great set up but it just keeps getting worse. Same things mentioned as above, but with dirty towels, dirty linen, musty scent, no working phone, dead bugs splatted everywhere, and no AC. I went out for a night on the town and came back to a box fan in my room. I wondered why they had done that, but never mentioned the air was not working. I deem myself to be relatively patient but this was extreme. The floor was SUPER dirty because they don't use mops...how else do you clean the floors? You darn sure are not getting on your hands and knees scrubbing! The staff do not communicate here. One pretended to never talk to the next although they told me they did in different conversations. Chris, the GM, is of no help he is NOT good at customer service and Lindsey is plain ole clueless and they are really in bad shape if they think she's going to rectify matters. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable, clean-air environment with AC, this is NOT the motel you want to stay at. Furthermore, whatever people keep talking about the continental breakfast here is amazing must be homeless. The boiled eggs taste old & fake, and they sat out only a few apples, the rest needless to mention. Now that I've listed ALL of the cons. Pros: coffee, banana nut muffins, and honey croissants were good. But why pay hundreds of dollars for that? Do not be fooled by the pics I foresee this place being investigated by the department of health in the very near future. They need tons of citations for being filthy nasty. This is why the BnB industry is taking over. Hotels begin feeling themselves then forget about the people paying them. Other than this, WPB is great!!! read more

Artsy, 80s style hotel with mostly unhelpful staff When we arrived at 10:00 PM, there was no one at the front desk, but two beers, and two customers were waiting there. About 10 minutes later, the desk person arrived and checked us in. She gave us incorrect directions to get to the room (which would have mattered less if it had not been pouring down rain) and she did not know that the paved parking lot was full. We had to park in an adjacent gravel parking lot. The room heater was not functional (see photo), so we had a very cool evening in the middle of January. The room was not very clean, and was a bit disorganized. The breakfast bar was good, but the cream cheese for the bagels arrived after we had finished the bagels (after 7AM). Overall, lousy service, with little proper management. There was no option to provide us with a room with a working heater. Cancelled our second reservation with them a week later. We have been recommending this hotel to our friends for years when they ask where to stay in our area. It used to be a great spot. The decline is so obvious. The rooms are dirty and the walls need painting in all of the rooms. Low end linens and towels. There is barely any staff on the premises. Try to get them on the phone is impossible. It's a one man show it seems. Too bad that the hotel is located in an upscale neighborhood and it looks like a ghetto motel. There isn't any security . A scary place to stay. I would suggest they get new management. It's gone downhill the past few years. Better to make a better choice and pick a clean and secure hotel that is staffed. read more

This place completely ticked off all the boxes I needed for staying overnight while attending Sunfest. Close to the event for Uber pricing, clean & reasonably priced. Breakfast was a surprising bonus with hard boiled eggs, muffins, croissants and bagels (with a toaster), cereal, fresh hot coffee, fresh fruit, juice and a delightful little courtyard to eat outside. Laid out motel style but around cute gardens and walkways it was super quiet and perfect for the one night we stayed there. Not terribly family friendly as they don't have roll away beds if you have kids with you. Parking could be an issue if you are a lazy bastard and don't fancy walking across the parking lot behind the premises. read more

Looking at various online reviews I was intrigued by Hotel Biba, taking all reviews with a grain of salt. It didn't take much for me to make a reservation! The place is quite delightful. An older property, to be sure, but it has been recently renovated / refreshed and the room was clean and modern. Definitely a motel type property, although our room faced a garden with parking on the other side of the building. Comfortable bed, quiet location, satisfactory continental breakfast, very convenient to Palm Beach attractions such as the Flagler Museum. Everything I needed ... plus a reasonable price. read more

We checked in early (the guy was nice, and didn't have to accommodate us), but the room was dirty. We were told we'd get a text in about an hour to let us know our "upgraded" room was ready. Three hours later, no text. The "Assistant General Manager" received the whole story, then questioned me as if I were being dishonest. She actually seemed more offended that I said the room was dirty, than wanting to help me. I was very patient and understanding (never rude, despite the interrogation). The next room was cleaner (inside), although the bed makes a very loud "thud" anytime you get on or off. Every noise from the street is amplified, planes fly by constantly, the neighbor's shower was nearly deafening, the other neighbors sounded like they were speaking directly at the wall and the location doesn't make you feel comfortable. I'm not very particular, but this place is nothing more than a roadside motel trying to be chic when it's really just cheap. Good idea, poor execution. I feel like the positive reviews are sincere, but left by the kind of people that think Red Lobster is "fine dining". Positives: Great looking property from the outside, nice lobby, close to the waterfront, downtown shopping and restaurants. read more

Cozy, modern, clean, friendly, fairly priced and convenient motel. It's about a seven min drive to the beach, 5 mins to down town and a short walk to nice restaurants and shopping. The room we stayed in smelled clean, had fresh clean sheets and everything worked well. The FREE breakfast was above average for continental breakfast. They served good strong coffee, bagels, cereal and awesome fresh empenadas-- high end!!! The hostess was very helpful and the lounge outside was very comfortable. The pool is bigger than most hotel pools. And is very clean and comfortable. Front desk help was great-- both check in and out was fast, friendly, and organized. The guests very friendly and varried from old farts to young brats. We will stay here again. read more

Hotel clerk gave us a very difficult time when checking us in for stay. They insisted on charging us tax TWICE despite us showing the prices we had been quoted online and in her Expedia paperwork. She then tried to explain that they had no accountability over the published rate on Expedia. Thankfully there was a shift change and the second clerk was able to straighten it out. It's very concerning that the first clerk seems to think it's normal to charge people for tax, twice! The accommodations were fine otherwise. read more

The hotel is an Art Deco hotel. It's smaller, well maintained. The grounds are simply beautiful. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. I needed my air turned down. It was freezing. I called the front desk they came to my room and turned it down. She was there in one minute. They serve free continental breakfast. Free wi fi. Free parking. Wednesday through Friday the restaurant is open. It was so crowded. The restaurant staff was very helpful. I reccomended this hotel. It's very clean and inexpensive. read more

Very old Building on outside looks like 1940's. The inside has no fridge or microwave. All walls and ceilings are in Desperate need of an upgrade. There's mold in the bathrooms. To be honest, we bought the weekend and after one night we are going back home. Also it has a smell to this place like old people or dead skim cells I can't decide which one it is. I had heard of Hotel Biba via word of mouth when I used to live down the street. Finally got to stay here one night and we fell in love with the place! Grounds and gardens are beautiful with South Beach style groove/chill music playing. Pool is beautiful too. We felt like we were a guest in someone's home from start to finish,,great vibes,,relaxing and excellent service! The staff was amazing!! Not at all treated like a guest in a corporate hotel which costs more anyways. They exceeded my expectations and then some! Andre at the front desk even called me to tell me I forgot my flat iron. Crisp clean room all white with premium toiletries,,bedding and towels. Flatscreen tv. Beautiful Bohemian wooden shutters on the windows. Bathroom was very nice as well and I liked the shower a lot! Small room but I knew that going in and absolutely love boutique hotels. It also gave the feel like we were staying in a friend's house. They serve a free continental breakfast from 7am-10am. There is a $50 hold on your credit card at check-in which was quick and easy btw. In addition,,it's across the street from the Intercoastal and Sushi Jo and Jo Bistro which I also highly recommend and 1 1/2 miles to Palm Beach and Worth Ave. Absolutely beautiful and my boyfriend and I had such a phenomenal time!!! The good: friendly and helpful staff. We arrived before check in and our room was not ready. The front desk found a ready room and moved us so we were able to get in immediately. Reasonably priced for palm beach area. Trendy vibe. Convenient to a couple of restaurant options across the street. Bed was comfy. The bad: Room was sparse and furniture well worn. The deadbolt on the door didn't work and one of the two bulbs in the overhead light was out. That said, the room (inside) is stark white and the windows let in a lot of light in the afternoon so we didn't miss the light bulb. Parking situation was bad. There are not many spots in the main parking areas. The overflow is in a sketchy lot behind the hotel ... next to the bath tub on the ground by the dumpster. I was not comfortable leaving my car there. The 2:10 and 5:20 trains were right on time ... trash pickup is tuesday morning ... a little before 6. If you aren't the kind of person that sleeps through anything be prepared to be woken up. It isn't the worst place I have ever stayed, but I expected better. read more

This is an okay hotel. It looks modern BUT it has so many small details that would be such an easy fix and would make the whole place look waaay better. Staff is super friendly, free breakfast every morning (they have bread, bagels, cereal, eggs, coffee, orange juice and milk). The room was tiny but comfortable, it also looked mostly clean. The pool is big and super calm. Clean? Could be better. While I can't speak for the rooms that are in he 1-story Bates Motel-looking buildings next door, I can say without a doubt that anyone who's posted 5 star reviews of this place is either a paid contractor or has not stayed in the main building... or the reviews are based solely on the fact this place is absurdly inexpensive during the summer. The good... - staff are all quite pleasant - pool area was nice - seems fairly well maintained. The not so great... - the furniture and bathroom fixtures that appear to be something a handyman builds for them needs to be re-re-re painted_ at least on Room 205... at first I thought it had not been cleaned because the table and desk have stains from perhaps coffee that sat too long as well as a lot of ink marks from perhaps Kids drawing on the furniture. - at least when I was here, the people around the pool kinda looked less like guests and more like pool crashers from then not-so-great neighborhood on the west side of Dixie Hwy. The plain out ugly... - this place must have been built from sticks and cardboard! You can hear every sound that's made by your neighbors... from noisy pipes, conversations, music from their phones, TVs... literally everything so if your a light sleeper, keep trucking If your simply looking for the cheapest place to stay in PB area that is clean, probably an okay option for $40-$60 per night... otherwise, I'd be a little pissed. read more

Very nice looking from the outside. Clean, luxurious, pretty, and a refreshing looking pool, however, there was no fridge or microwave and the AC and WiFi didn't work as well as we had hoped. The front staff was very friendly though and helpful, except for the early morning clerk, who didn't know anything. Didn't know of any ATMs near by (granted it was 4 in the morning) and didn't know how to slipt the bill in half for check out. At least she was honest. I used to go more often. Its good after a few drinks. Good to go on wednesdays. Often it gets too crowded. Not good to go in the summer months due to its indoor/outdoor layout. Hotel Biba - @BiBA - Hotels Near Me - West Palm Beach, Florida

I stayed at the Biba Hotel in 2007 thanks to a deal I got on Hotels.com. Not knowing the lay of the land because it was my first time in Florida, I didn't realize it was 40-some odd miles north from the Ft. Lauderdale Airport, otherwise I might have not chosen to stay here. The drive up was not too bad and the hotel was easy to find. The list of adjectives I'd use to describe the hotel: boutique (a unique, upscale one-story hotel), stylish (updated rooms), charming (aka small rooms), clean and hip (with loud bar and DJ at night). I really didn't care that the room was small because I was only sleeping there and not seeking the full resort experience during my stay. Upon my arrival, Saturday night was in full swing and the desk clerk placed me in a room where the noise coming from the bar was obviously bothersome and assured me that it would die down by 1AM. They also offered to move my car from their driveway to the back lot after the bar patrons left. Then they delivered my rental car keys to me in my room. Self parking was in a small lot located behind the hotel. Staff were accommodating when I found no hair drier in the room and provided me with one. The a/c unit made the Florida humidity in September bearable. The room's provision I thought were expensive, but found the local WalMart which was open 24 hours a day for water, fruit and hair care products. Biba is NOT a five star resort, the 5 stars they are getting is for what they really are. A great and very affordable MOTEL providing clean, comfy rooms, nice pool , free wifi, flat screet TV, an Iron & a board, and free continental Breakfast.... Simple and great....all this for $50 a night...def 5 stars all the way. read more

I stayed for 3 nights/4 days. Good: Polite staff Continental breakfast was great. The theme/idea of the hotel is great. Very simple & calming Bad: General Manager Mike Hrynuik was NOWHERE TO BE FOUND during my 4 days there. My room never got serviced/cleaned, even after I left the "please clean my room" tag on the door. Maintenance guy knocked & asked to come in, when the "do not disturb" tag was on the door. In my 1st room, the shower floods bathroom floor. Stained sheets and dirty (food & grease) in ice bucket. I was given a different room for the last night because they said my old room is supposed to be remodeled. It was very inconvenient for my wife and I to leave Miami to come back to West Palm Beach just to change our room then to just go back out again. There was no compensation for the inconvenience I just was given a few empty hearted apologies. The staff kept blaming other staff members on dropping the ball and I told them I don't care who did what; as long as I am taking care of because this is my 10th anniversary vacation with my wife. I just wanted a smooth, relaxing experience to celebrate with my wife. The place is not hopeless which is why I gave it 2 stars unread of 1. I think if there was good management then the place would be a 5 stars everyday, all day and I would have been glad to come back again. read more

I dig this place a lot. Everything a getaway should be an yet it's not far away, just a little out of sight. Hotel Biba is a direct shot east from the Palm Beach Airport. Just stop right before you get to the Ocean and you're there. I was first introduced to this place via it's bar which I just LOVED. The bar is a spacious, brightly colored yet dimly lit, and chic space with couches, pillows and 4 chairs at the actual bar (which is small but completely stocked). There is a wonderful spacious area outside and it's perfect for smokers (I think it's now smoke free inside) and the music is usually charming. The beach is very close and I think this place is great if/when you don't need or want to hang out in your room (unless you wanna read or sit by the quiet pool). The rooms are very streamlined, clean and efficient. No carpet but lots of comfort, the height of a beach bums hideaway...if he had good taste, that is. read more

My friend and I arrived at about 8:30 PM and got checked in. We had to park across The street and walk over. I thought that this was a hotel but it turns out that it is more of a motel. We entered our room from the courtyard where anybody can walk up. We tried to lock our door but the security deadbolt was not working. I called the front desk and was told that they deactivate that and that he was the only one with a key that could get in and promised me that he was not a weirdo. I said that is what weirdos say....Needless to say, we did not feel safe here. We were in an area we did not know and could not Secure our door. The air conditioning was not cooling. I had turned it down to 65 and the coolest it ever got in the room was 75. The toilet was leaking water on the floor. The desk and side tables had rings all over them and looked like they had not ever been cleaned. It is nothing a magic eraser wouldn't take care of. The only positives were that the bed was comfortable the pillows were fine the water in the shower was hot and the pressure was decent. The "breakfast" was laughable. Bagels, croissants and two apples in the bowl. There were two toasters but they both were barely working. Toasters are not that expensive. They really should replace them. every guest that was using them was frustrated. I saw a dude put a knife and want to dig his bagel out because it doesn't pop up at all. I told him he was going to get shocked and he said that's the only way to get it out... I really had high hopes for this, what looked to be cute, boutique hotel. I should've heeded the reviews and passed it up. The place just needs a deep cleaning and some updates. The size of the room did not bother me but the cleanliness sure did. I don't understand how people can write a review saying this place was clean... The guy and reception said that he would give me a 20% discount but I had already paid in full and that I would need to contact Expedia to get that money back. I did not even booked through Expedia so I have a feeling that this is not even going to be returned to me. read more
