Today my son was seen as a new patient, and we had a fabulous experience. He started off with x-rays and the assistant was friendly, and didn't take excessive x-rays. Then he had his teeth cleaned, with a very sweet hygienist who went over oral hygiene, and reviewed flossing and brushing techniques. He is a 10 year old boy so I was very happy that they reintegrated the importance of brushing properly. Then Dr Sabbadini entered, and let me know that my son was cavity free. They took his picture to put in on the cavity free wall, and gave him a brushing report card. My son got a B- and I really appreciate their honesty. My son is looking forward to his 6 month recall appointment. He's aiming for an A at his next visit. Also we have no dental insurance, and the fees were very accessible. We went to Dr. Sabbadini's office today because my 4 y/o son was referred by another dental office. The front ladies were so nice. I am so impressed by the assistant that she was able to get at least 2 xray for my son's, knowing that my son has mild autism, the previous offices we went were not able to get any xrays done, I am so thankful for that. The thing that really hurt our feelings was when after Dr. Sabbadini examined my son's teeth, my son started started to cry and throwing tantrum and spilling the magazines. The Dr. made a comment, he said, " Can somebody stay with him before he breaks anything here?". I mean, hearing that from the Dr really hurt our feelings. They should realize that having a son with autism is really challenging, and the Dr. should be more compassionate in dealing with children with the same situation, which was advertise to be his speciality. Dr. Sabbadini may be a good dentist, I'd recommend no one even try to find out. As part of his regular business practice Dr Sabbadini insists on the collection of social security numbers (SSN). Even if the insurance is already verified and approved. This is a totally unnecessary business practice, (does your plumber have your SSN? Your gardener?) and is only there for his convenience. While it obviously makes collections easier, Dr Sabbadini's is putting at risk patents identities and financial security. I saw no evidence SSNs received any level of protection or encryption in Dr Sabbadini's apparently wide open computer system. Most disturbingly when questioned about this Dr Sabbadini was phenomenally poor at listening to privacy concerns. In fact, he was unconcerned with patent privacy and disinterested in listening to anything said. If you like a Dr who will treat you as an adversary should you question him, and apparently assumes all patents are going to skip town w/o paying him, he maybe the Dentist for you, particularly if you don't care about keeping your SSN to only those who need it. If you are looking for a new identity, with dental insurance, Dr Sabadini's office maybe just the place to start. For the rest of us, I'd recommend giving his office a wide berth. read more

This office is perfectly set up for kids needs. They have TVs on the ceiling to show movies The kids can watch to distract them. I first brought my son in here when he was quite young after no one else would work on him because he was too "figity". Gary Sabbadini is very professional and works very fast. Dr Gary, The interest free payment arrangement offered was not honored. Christine said monthly billing was too costly so she would call re the payments but she did not and an interest fee was charged. I initiated partial payment on my own this week and was told the interest/late fee will be removed. I need to know that if we return, services will be provided knowing that I have initiated payments in good faith and will continue until the past due is paid. In other words, no hassle at the front desk or denial of service based on the past due. Is that acceptable? read more

I've been taking my daughter to this dentist office until we had a really bad experience. My nine-year-old daughter needed a filling. They said she didn't need the anesthesia shot because they were going to use a new technology. During the procedure my daughter was in a lot of pain. She tried to let them know by raising her hand. They kept telling her to lower her arm. They treated her like she was not cooperating. They ignored her. I was in a difficult position because I wanted to help the dentist and assistant to do their job. I remembered once they told me that if the parent is not helpful during a procedure, they ask the parent to leave. I didn't want to be kicked out, and was hoping that things would get better at some point, but it was bad all the way. When it was over my daughter told me she's never felt so much pain in her life. I don't understand how the dentist and the assistant, who have so much experience with children, didn't pay attention when my daughter tried to tell them that they were hurting her. I was under the impression that they didn't want to bother with interrupting the procedure because there were other patients waiting. My daughter told me she didn't want to go back to that dentist and I told her not to worry we are NEVER going back. read more

My experience with Dr. Sabbadini is terrible, never go there. Never never go there. He charges $500 for fixing a cavity with $220 copay. OK, I paid 220, and he sends me a $140 past due statement over and over again because my insurance company refuses to pay the extra charge. What is wrong with your damn treatment plan? Where have your credit go? Never go there, they will over charge you and harass you forever. Never go there! read more

I am so happy my baby friend is a patient of Dr. Sabbadini ! My baby friend came here for dental visit. My baby friend's first dental visit. Front desk staff were nice and processed our paperwork quickly. We were taken back by RDA ( I forgot her name) but very kind lady who was was the personification of patience! She kept my baby friend engaged and explained everything she was doing which made both of us a little more comfortable. I love it when people talk to children as a normal people instead of trying to distract them during medical procedures. After we met with Dr. Sabbadini. I explained some heath concerns that my baby friend is experiencing. He offered advice on how to deal with treating it because this could impact not only oral heath (teeth structure, worn enamel) but overall health and quality of life. He was extremely knowledgeable and very sweet. And we got to pick out a cool toothbrush! I was very pleased with the service I received and am a happy patient. 2 small things I am on the fence about: 1. You have to cancel 48 hours in advance or you will be charged -but they do text and or email you but emergencies happen and 24 hours should suffice. 2. They are closed on Fridays read more

The dentist's office can be a scary place for children, but they do everything to make sure everyone is comfortable. This morning my 4 year old had an appointment to get a cavity filled. At the last cleaning, he told us not to tell her what was going to happen, because it will be easier that way. I should have listened to my own instinct and not to some gruff dentist, and KNEW this would not go over well with my daughter's personality, but we didn't tell her anyway. Big mistake. The appointment was at 8:10am, because he won't take younger kids after noon. Which is ridiculous. So she and my husband get there and immediately she shuts down. The hygienist was rushing and didn't want to give more than 8 minutes of my husband coaxing her into laying down, watching the movie, and getting her used to being there, since this was only the second time she had been in this office. Then the hygienist got Gary S to come out, and immediately right out of the gate played the bad cop card on my daughter, saying that he was going to count to 3, my husband would have to sit in another chair, and that they would begin. She kept turning her head not letting him give her gas, which apparently costs $50 per puff. For NO2?! Seriously?? 5 minutes later he declares she's going to need to come back for either IV or oral sedation to get the cavity filled, or they'd need to put a crown on, or, or, or... Sedating a 4 year old for one tiny cavity is insanity, and was quoted for $900, AND he doesn't take insurance. These people had no patience for children. Part of working as a pediatric dentist is understanding that children respond differently than adults, they have different personalities, and you need to have a lot of patience and understanding with them. This office failed. Horribly. They have set my already apprehensive child up for a life time of fearing dentists. They were hurried, and rushed, and did not give her the time or attention she needed to feel safe in a place where this man was going to stick needles in her mouth and drill a hole in her tooth. Why the hell does he work in a place that is supposed to cater towards children? And for all that, we still had to pay $75 to get nothing but a more traumatized kid. Thanks a lot. We are never coming back. Parents: if you want to risk scarring your kids at the dentist, feel free to come to this clown. If you want a better happier experience, go anywhere but here. Also, why is it that all of his recent negative reviews have been filtered? Doesn't that seem fishy? Let's see how long before this one gets put behind that little screen too. read more

Dr. Sabbadini is great! My daughter ended up with him because she would not let the regular dentist in her mouth! The first visit she freaked out again and Dr. Sabbadini stopped to explain in a very firm voice how my daughter could make the process successful. At first I was a little taken a back but as I listened to him and watched my daughter calm down, I realized that was OK and he's the professional and it worked. We didn't have any other problems with my daughter at the dentist and she's even encouraged to stay cavity free so she can be in the "no cavity club"! read more

My children LOVE this dentist. I have 4 kids and they all get excited when they find out we are going to the dentist the next day. The office is great and wonderfully kid oriented. They are patient (two of my kids had a lot of anxiety about dr's and dentist's initially), this office put them completely at ease. They even "cleaned" and a stuffed animals teeth first to demonstrate and help the kids to know what to expect. I have only had one of the kids need extra work done. And they were great for that too! They have always been very patient answering all of my questions and making it a great experience for our entire family. We've been going there for 8 years and I reccommend it to all my friends. read more

We recently moved to Hercules and was looking for a good pediatric dentist. I have to say that the first visit with my three kids (2, 5, and 6 yrs.) to the office was definitely not impressive at all (I might be a little bias because we had an excellent pediatric dentist prior). I was exhausted from the amount of paper works that I had to fill out, and definitely not happy with the policy of paying deposit to book an appointment for procedure. I felt like I was working with a businessman than a dentist. I think a key element for good relationship between doctor and patients is TRUST. The staffs that we were in contact with were really professional and good with the kids when it came to talking and interacting with them. I would like to see more gentleness and consideration when dealing with younger kids. I felt that the hygenists should take their time and make frequent stop in between cleaning to give them a break to breath because it was definitely rushed. Dr. Sabbadini is professional and knows what he is doing and has great suggestions for the parents, but I would have expected this with a regular dentist and not a pediatric dentist. I felt that he spent less than 5 minutes with the kids, and didn't really iinteract with the kids at all. The kids really got to know the previous dentist that they had because he was funny, very approachable, and he got his message to the kids. read more

I literally can say that Dr. Sabbadini was a lifesaver. It was Thanksgiving night, and my 2.5 year old fell mouthfirst into a marble table (4 hours out of town). After an ER visit that did absolutely nothing except to say my son needed to see a dentist emergently the next day to fix his front teeth. Hopefully you never, ever have to try to find a dentist on the Friday of the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. We were out of town, and tried over 20 dentists in that area. I then tried another 15 dentists in my local area. Nothing. I even tried that 1800dentist. They had ZERO dentists willing to come in. (And yes, we are insured, well insured, so that was not the reason). Growing up in the bay area, I remembered my sister taking her kids here, and I knew I would drive however long to get the medical / dental help my son needed. Dr Sabbadini had an emergency line, actually answered it (unlike many other dentists we tried) and after hearing what happened, he came in on his holiday weekend and did the emergency extractions that needed to be done. My son had never had a dental appointment before, much less needing a procedure done, so the dentist was extremely gentle and kind, explained everything, and walked us through the procedure. Even though his office is 1.5 hours away, I am seriously thinking about remaining a patient here- and if you are local, I would highly recommend sending your kids here. I know for a fact that you will have a *caring* dentist, who will go above and beyond what literally 50+ other dentists wouldn't do on their holiday weekend! read more

My 4 year old son has been a patient here since he was 2. Believe it or not, he LOVES to go to the dentist. I account that to the fun atmosphere (fun toys while waiting!) and the warm and caring staff. He makes sure he is super still, and follows direction perfectly so he gets a prize out of the treasure box after. Love this team. Would recommend Dr. Sabbadini and his staff to any mom. I took my 3 year old to Dr. Sabbadini 2 weeks ago for his first check up. They were wonderful and my son was so happy when we left. First the waiting room is great and there are plenty of things for your little ones to do. They even have a video game system hooked up for the big kids to play. Once your child is called, the assistant right away talks directly to your child, making them feel completely comfortable and knowing what to expect. I didn't feel at all that she was being rude to me, just being very attentive to my child. He took his x-rays and had his cleaning with no fuss at all. She explained every step she was making and even spoke to him about his favorite things to do, so he felt like he was having a casual conversation. I loved how they connected with my little one and still got everything done. At the end, the dentist came in and even had a batman shirt on. So cool, and my son loved it, right away it broke the ice, and allowed my son to let him look in his mouth. Overall, I had a great experience and my little guy couldn't wait to come back for his next cleaning. I would say the only downfall is they don't except medi-cal, however after speaking with the receptionist, I understand why, just wish they did. It was so worth it I paid cash just so my son could go. read more

I took my oldest child to Gary Sabbadini several years ago because he was the closest pediatric dentist that my insurance completely covered at the time. I was living in Santa Rosa at that time and my daughter needed a couple cavities filled. Anyways, I went in for a visit and the dentist was discussing his treatment plan with me and part of it was to give my child anesthesia. My child is really good about sitting still and listening and definitely did not need to be put to sleep. Also I do not agree with dentists putting children to sleep for simple procedures as filling cavities..it puts the children at unnecessary risks and they do not need that. The dentist refused to do things any other way. So I decided that I will take my child somewhere else and pay more out of pocket. When I refused to allow him to work on my child's teeth he then went on to tell me that I was a bad mother and claimed that two children died the previous year because their mothers' waited to get them the dental treatment that they needed. A person like Gary Sabbadini has no rights to call himself a dentist. He is a mean, selfish person who tries to threaten parents who don't agree with him. The only thing I did like about my experience was that the receptionists and dental assistants were really nice. read more
