Lunch Hibachi chicken is delicious. I eat there when I feel like making the 30 mile drive.

I didn't get a pic of the entrees, but I don't recommend anything here except for sushi. The waitress was slightly less friendly than a pissed off warthog. The decor is very much that of grandmas plastic covered couch from the 1980s. Overall, it's a hard pass. We used to love coming here back in 2013, but ten years later it's inedible. read more

Rating updated to the same after our latest visit. Its such a shame what has happened to this place, it is a shadow of its former self. One other group in here with us eating. Not a lot of food, had 2 slices of carrot from a tin and I reckon they just opened the tin and put them on the plate as there was no heat at all in them. Basically it was about a year since we were in here last. Unlikely to come back any time soon as its not that great any more which saddens me. read more

I must say it was not one of the best experiences I've had. We weren't allowed to order sushi because company had to inspect them which was fine. The food was okay, however it was very overpriced and expensive. The portion sizes for the soup and salad--which was just a few pieces of lettuce on a plate--were not great either. The restaurant was empty but the food still took a while. The soup was very small and watery too. I believe all the good reviews were years ago. read more

Just had a colonoscopy and haven't ate in over 58 hours any solid food looked forward to my favorite Cusine and we ordered it to go I got steak and shrimp it came with 8 pieces of steak and 3 shrimp most of my Togo box was broccoli and a small side of rice...very disappointing compared to any Japanese restaurant I've been to I felt cheated out of the good money I paid for it and didn't get much in food as I thought I would I eat Japanese regularly and never have I been cheated out of food this bad from a Japanese restaurant I wouldn't recommend here unless you like over priced small portions oh also my onions with the broccoli weren't even fully cooked still hard and strong flavored retrace your cooks to fully cook things and portion correctly please and thank you read more

About two weeks ago I went and endured a meal with no a/c. Today I was going to dine but walked out because the a/c is still broken. They had a fan on top of a table trying to cool the place. I live in Charlotte, and was visiting my Dad and stopped here for dinner. Puzzled by all the bad reviews. I didn't have their Sushi which is what seemed to earn poor reviews. But I got their Filet Mignon and Teriyaki Chicken combo. Let me tell you that the Filet was excellent! I got it Mid Rare and it melted in my mouth. Chicken was a little crispy and flavorful. Veggies nicely done. My "secret" was taking their Yum Yum sauce that they brought out with the shrimp app and used it as my dipping sauce for ny Filet and Chicken. And there was PLENTY of food! I'm a big eater and was stuffed when I was done! Being used to really good Teppanyaki places I thought this was an unexpected and very pleasant surprise in North Augusta! Now is this the "best" Japanese place ever? No. Are there better places across the river on Washington Road? Yup. But is this a good option for little North Augusta? YES! It's all relative. Every time I get to go it take atleast and hour and it's always wrong! They have gone way down compared to how they used to be!

The food was bland, and the portion size was very little for the price that they charge for the hibachi chicken combo.

Hosting/ management needs to get a clue. This place could be something truly nice especially in North Augusta, but alas each trip highlights yet another management issue. Last trip our table was right next to the main walkway in the front, why ???? Lots of other tables available all around us. Weird guy kept walking by from back out front door then a few minutes later back in the front door walking to the back. Look like your average unwashed, uncivilized gamer/ goth guy. I have nothing against any of the aforementioned issues, except we were disturbed from our dinner continuously and he did not look like somebody that works in a restaurant. I just pray he was the dishwasher and not a cook. While we come primarily for the food this time the fish was totally over salted almost to the point of parts tasting bitter. In retrospect we should have sent it back. Over priced, Rotten Sushi!!!!!! I do not fancy myself a food critic by no means. However, I have lived and traveled all over the world from Georgia to Texas and Hawaii to Japan. I love good food and believe it can be found anywhere. So today I tried Sabi in North Augusta,SC. The restaurant itself is nice enough for a Casual lunch or dinner. Today's order though entailed a few Sushi rolls and a Chop Chop bowl to go. For to go orders one must pay real attention to the sign on the wall that says to check your order completely before leaving. I noticed it, I read it and foolishly left without taking a look at what I was served inside the tied up bag as the waitress repeated my original order verbatim. Once I arrived in my car I decided to have a look at the order and have a piece of sushi for the drive. I was astounded the moment I opened the small plastic covered dish. First the smell, Putrid. And then, my eyes locked on to the source. Out of the three rolls I had ordered, Tuna,Salmon and Yellowtail the the latter was completely rotten. It has turned half dark brown and half blood red and oozed a slime from it that was disgusting. The only thing missing from the roll to complete what I was seeing was a maggot to crawl from it. Needless to say the other two rolls that were touching it and in the same container were inedible because of proximity to the last. Bottom line, Never,Ever,Ever eat sushi from a restaurant that would send that sushi out of the door. I had to throw away my whole order for fear of becoming really sick which has happened before in a cheap little bar in Hawaii. I have pictures of this rotten mess which will be facebook worthy. I should have read the Yelp reviews before going here. The sushi I ordered was definitely a bummer. Portion size is REALLY small. I mean a solid third of the container was taken up by the 2 oz. tub of this strange orange mayo sauce that they added. The egg rolls I ordered on the side were moreso a meatball covered in wonton and it came with another sweet mayo sauce (this time it was a different shade of orange). Nothing was THAT bad, but then again nothing was good. I would definitely go to one of the places on Washington Rd. before coming here, but if you're downtown/in North Augusta and dying for sushi, this is your best (more like only) bet. read more

Kinda wondering about negative reviews. This is my "go to" restaurant in the CRSA. I always get aweSome service here. The manager who I think is owner usually is working register and she always seems concerned about our experience here. The entrees taste like a Hibachi grill without all the wait and fuss. I hate going to those grills. Here you get your food fast and prepared your way without waiting on this silly onion trains and throwing food around. I do miss the fire though. I agree, not the best sushi in town but it is decent. If you want just a roll or two with dinner it's good. But for the price, quality, speed of service I think this place is top notch. I like that you can either get entrees low carb or no rice if you want to be more Paleo. So a very healthy option too with lots of veggies :) And filet mignon seems like it is always on special. read more

I came here the last week with my roommate. We hadn't been here in a good while. The food was still good. We could tell that they had cut back on some things though. The salad and soup that they give you come out in smaller dishes than they used too. Even the cups that they bring out the white sauce in were smaller. The cups looked more like sake cups as I think of it. They're now charging more for cups of white sauce to go ($1.00). Honestly. It was good food but not worth the price. We paid $38.44 for two people. Our order consisted of Steak hibachi ($10.99), 8 small pieces of Philly Roll ($4.95) and 8 small pieces of Shrimp Tempura Roll ($4.95), two drinks ($1.99), side salad ($2.00) and side of white rice (which I'm thinking was the $2.99 charge on our bill). The food was ok, it did not taste amazing but was edible. I ordered the sweet tea to drink and it was super sweet and thick. We had to flag down our waitress to change out the drink to something less chewable. The ginger salad sauce was one of the tastiest my husband and I had ever had, however. Very savory. The waitress was nice but not overly helpful. We had to flag her down for our bill and to change out my drink. We were one of 3 tables currently in the restaurant. I was very surprisingly displeased at the food and service I received tonight. The food was mediocre and way over priced, I could of went and got the full hibachi experience for what I paid here. While sitting eating my main course meal I was brought at sushi roll I did not order. I accepted the roll thinking it was a nice gesture from the restaurant. I ate one piece because I was full but did not want to be rude. So I took the rest with me in a Togo plate. As I was paying my waitress proceeded to tell me she had to update my check, for the sushi roll I never asked for nor did she bring it to me. She said they had to still charge me for it because I ate some of it instead of rejecting the roll when it came to my table. A total miscommunication and not a clear understanding. But if I did not order from and receive it from my waitress, why would they charge me for it. I NEVER asked for it. I was not happy with how this was handled and it has changed my perception of the customer service they offer. I did not feel like arguing so I left paying $77 for mediocre food and terrible customer service. I do not recommend wasting time or money on this business! read more

Well... Ermmm... So...if you want typical hibachi grill fare but without the show, here ya go. Fried rice with meat and veggies. Sushi is...there. It's not bad tasting. We have eaten here several times and the food is always pretty good. I typically get the filet and my husband will get the filet and shrimp. For the most part the amount of food you get for the price is good. The reason we like to come here is because you get to skip all the flare of other Japanese restaurants but still get the same type food. We have children under the age of 6 and sometimes we are limited in time. My issue with this place is the service isn't that great. It is just average. For instance, last night my daughter was sleeping when we walked in and was still asleep when we ordered. I ordered her food and one of her favorite parts of a Japanese meal is the soup that comes with it. I was told that since I was getting my daughters meal to go she would not be able to have soup. What??? So if the reason is that you don't have a container...then give it to me in a to go cup. I was told "no"...I'll get in trouble. It just rubbed me the wrong way. If I am willing to pay for it and have a way for you to provide it to me, why won't you give it to me??? read more

I wish I had looked at the reviews on Yelp before visiting. My husband and I got the scallop hibachi, and the scallops were chewy and tasted off and I felt ill to my stomach after eating here. It was at lunch and we didn't want to bother with sending food back, so we ate the rice and went to pay. We let the person who checked us out know that the scallops tasted like they were going bad, but the service was good. She didn't really comment but looked displeased (with us), ran our card and we left. Won't be going back, and don't ever get the seafood here as far as I'm concerned. Sushi is decent. Food itself isn't bad either. Though as my daughter ate her meal she bit down on a piece of chicken bone and hurt her tooth. She and nobody at our table had even ordered chicken! The manager gave a reasoning of food mixing together on the grill, gave no apology, no comp of meal, no remorse at all. I now see why the place is usually empty. Sad as it could be much better if it had true concern for customer service. I'll never return. Augusta has better places that have better food and customer service. read more

I read a lot of complaints about the service but ours was fine. They weren't too busy on a Sunday night, maybe 4 other tables. There were a few TVs playing the post-Masters' interviews. I got a very inexpensive chicken teriyaki entree that came with fried rice, broccoli, carrots, mushrooms, and "white sauce" (i.e. mayo; I didn't use any). They also bring out soup, a basic salad, and a couple butterfly shrimp. It was nothing spectacular but they gave me a ton of it; more than half is sitting in my fridge in a to-go box. I also got the eel roll which came out promptly - I wouldn't just get sushi here. It was alright; better than grocery store sushi but not by much. They seem to have a pretty basic sushi selection and entree selection, for that matter. If I am satisfying a cheap Hibachi craving on a tight schedule, I'll return. The food was decent. The service was great. Halee was an amazing waitress. My experience there was however unpleasant due to the rude owner/hostess. The woman was rude as could be the moment my party stepped foot in the door. The restaurant was hot as could be. I don't think they had any working air conditioning. They had fans blowing all around the place. The restrooms inside looked like a truck stop bathroom. I saw a cockroach crawling on the wall right by the booth we were sitting at.
