Sadly it has been years since i have had traditional food from my culture/blood. Sabor Colombiano allowed me to introduce my gf to typical and favored Colombian cuisine. The wait staff was so polite and professional. The empenadas could stand alone as en entree on their own. They were better than what my abuelita made. The exterior was perfectly crispy and the interior was dichotomous with the exterior and the filling was so flavorful and drizzling aji was game changer. I should have ordered 3 orders of the empanadas. I am also a huge fan of morcilla and their morcilla did not disappoint in the least nor did the yucca frita. I got the Plata Montanero/Bandeja Paisa and it reminded me of Bogota so much. Such a nostalgic meal for me and Sabor Colombiano prepared it perfectly. My gf got the Chuleta Vallecaucana and she loved it. We also ordered a couple fruit drinks that were so vibrant and flavorful. I wish there was at least one Colombian restaurant up here in Oregon. I guess we will have to find a reason to head down south when I am craving food of my people. The service was perfect and my only gripe was that the musician's speaker was way too loud but the servers allowed us to move to the farthest table which did help matters. Better than average! 3.5 stars! Bistec a caballo - $20.99 This plate had sauteed steak in tomato and onion sauce served with rice, sweet plantain, pinto beans, and salad. I enjoyed some lengua en salsa from my friend's plate. The yucca here is good, too. We asked for hot sauce because everything that night needed some salt (and that's okay!) - our server provided an aji verde salsa, but it was more like a chimichurri because it didn't add much spice. My Colombian friends let me know that this was potentially insulting. There's a decent-sized parking lot, it was free on the Friday night that I went. It looks like there's normally an attendant. The staff was friendly and the vibes were great. But even then service was lacking. Maybe we shouldnt have tried this place during World Cup Finals. That said, they were set up to host a large event. Tables were set outside for groups of 6-10ppl. However, there weren't enough servers to fulfill the service for the size of the tables that were set up. The portions were small for the prices that are charged. And the food was ok at best and dry, especially the chicken. There was nothing spectacular that we are that would entice me to visit this restaurant again. There was some items that were ordered that were not brought to the table but they were quick and prompt to remove them from the tab. We were a large party of 10ppl sitting outside. I've noticed a lot more Colombian restaurants popping up around Los Angeles lately, so I decided to check out Sabor Colombiano for dinner--and I'm so glad I did. The spot itself brought back memories because back in the day it used to be a club, then something else for a while. Definitely took me back to my early 20s. All the seating is outdoors, and we lucked out because they had live music that night, which really set the tone. The ambiance is vibrant and welcoming, and the service was incredible from start to finish--attentive, warm, and full of good energy. I decided to try the oxtail soup, and wow--the flavor was unreal. Deep, rich, and comforting. It came with a side of white rice, a slice of avocado, and a small arepa. I also ordered a beef empanada on the side, which was perfectly crispy and packed with flavor. Everything tasted fresh, well-seasoned, and made with care. I've never been to Colombia, but it's definitely on my bucket list, and this meal felt like a little preview of what's to come. My friend ordered the arroz con pollo and couldn't stop talking about how incredible it was. This place is highly recommended--especially for big groups, dancing later in the night, and anyone looking for good food with great vibes. This place is truly what you call authentic! The one thing that stood out to me at first was that they actually have parking right next to the restaurant. Also they have music and sports games on the screens in the patio perfect for families. The service is exceptional! The manager is so sweet and just very available to your needs as is the rest of the staff. My go to orders at this place is Mondongo, Pandeja Paisa with a coffee (really good). I came across this Colombian gem, while looking for a Colombian restaurant in where to celebrate my mother's birthday. At the beginning I was skeptical about the location and some of the reviews got me wondering if it was a good choice. Despite it all I called and enquired if they can accommodate a party of 25 people last minute for that same night. I was blown away by their customer service and welcoming gestures they booked us right away and accommodated my demands. The restaurant itself is no five star elegance, but the welcoming atmosphere live music and customer service makes you feel like you're in a 5 star restaurant. The food itself was beyond my expectations. It was well seasoned, piping hot and delicious!!! Everyone decided to order something different, so we got to taste at least 10 different menu options and all were delicious and well served. So my mother and i were going for the first time here to get dinner this past day and all of sudden we get sat down and no one comes says hello or ask for drink we saw they were short staff hand but all of sudden the table next to us ask for somthing and the waiter sits with them and starts talking for about 10- 15 mintues with them as i mention we where already sitting down for about that time with out sliver wear or drinks. We ordered the soup, a coco de limonada (didn't see it on the menu but it was delightful & refreshing on a warm Summer lunch day), chicken & beef empanadas. This place is very impressive. In the midst of COVID, they've adapted to make dining out safe and still very enjoyable to do. We dined outside in a personal little dinning bubble for our table of four people. There was a fan plugged inside the bubble in case we got hot, but we were very comfortable with the shade provided. I'm Colombian, so I was very excited to try everything. The empanadas are extremely crispy, crispier than i think I typically see. They were delicious, and paired with aji. They make their aji spicy here, so be warned! Normally it's more acidic/vinegary with mild spice. We also tried some morcilla (blood sausage), arepa, and patacones (fried green plantain). The morcilla was a little dry/crispy, but I loved the spice factor and saltiness of it. We got to try the mondongo (tripe stew), bandeja paisa, salmon encocado, and carne a la criolla. All of it was DELICIOUS, and most plates come paired with a green salad, rice, and patacón. The portions are extremely generous and practically guarantee that you're taking leftovers home. The prices are reasonable considering what you get in return. And of course, the service itself was outstanding. We were checked on numerous times by many different servers, at one of the busiest times (Sunday afternoon). Which brings me to another point, call ahead if possible on busy days. We were lucky, but as we were leaving we saw a line beginning to form. They also had live entertainment with a talented band, as well as a giant screen playing soccer games!
