Fourth review with two stars in my over 7 years of being a Yelp Elite.... Sadly, it had to be done. So I came to this location with a couple of out of town Korean friends on a Saturday afternoon, at around 7pm (one was visiting for a week, the other has been living and working here for the past 4 years but also originally from Korea). One of my friends had to wait in the car because she had to finish some work, meanwhile, my other friend and I put our names down for a party of 3 for a table, and waited outside (you have to wait in the open lobby area that's just outside the restaurant to get a text message). Once the text message arrived, at around 7:45pm, my friend and I walked over to speak with the two hosts and let them know we were next, one was named Alejandro and the other was some nice Korean woman I wasn't able to get the name of. As I approached Alejandro, I started dialing my other friend that was in the car and talking with her on the phone, letting her know to make her way over. As I was doing this, I showed him my text message to the host Alejandro, and he proceeded to ask me if the full party was here (he saw I was on the phone), I quickly interrupted my friend on the phone to tell him that two of us were, but the other one was already on her way, as a matter of fact, she was exiting my car and less than 25 meters away. As I was trying to explain this to the host Alejandro (and yes, I do catch the irony of the dude having my same name, unfortunately, we do not have the same manners, haha) what followed from him was the most loud, relentless, obnoxious berating ever, telling me how the whole party should be present, blah, blah, blah. I was trying to explain to him that my friend was walking over, but he kept being rude, obnoxious, talking over me, and not letting me explain myself. Since he was berating me as if I was some 3 year old toddler that he'd been scolding the whole day, and to avoid escalating further, I told him that we wouldn't be talking anymore and I told my Korean friend to instead talk to the Korean hostess himself, and I distanced myself from the dude. Not even 2 minutes had passed when my other friend (as I was just trying to tell the host Alejandro) walked in through the door, and the Korean hostess was able to get us seated (I asked her about the name of the dude that had been berating me and scolding me, without letting me talk, and she hesitated at first but eventually told me his name was Alejandro). The meal followed. Probably 20 to 30 mins later, what looked like the assistant manager of the restaurant (some Korean dude I couldn't even get the name of) approached our table acknowledged and nodded toward my two Korean friends, (my back was facing the entrance of the restaurant, I was facing the corner windows), and once he saw me and noticed whatever he had to notice, he quickly ignored me and didn't even give me a nod or anything. Two extremely rude individuals in one evening is a tad much. My friends and I really enjoyed the food, and although I've been a regular at this location for several years already, it will no longer be the case after this bad experience.

Today (5/24/2026, Sunday), we had a family dinner at BCD Tofu House. My Mom really loves this place, so we've been coming here very often for years -- probably more than 50 times. Today, I ordered the Dumpling Tofu Stew (Medium), and my father and my two brothers ordered Seafood Tofu Stew and Pork Bulgogi. My mom ordered the Combination Tofu Soup (Medium) with the Galbi Combo. All of the side dishes here are delicious, and the tofu stew is always so tasty The galbi is also really good, so everyone in our family always enjoys coming here. Today was even better because all of the staff members were incredibly kind and attentive. Especially when I accidentally dropped my chopsticks -- before I even had a chance to say that I needed another pair, one of the staff members noticed and brought me new chopsticks, saying, "Here are some chopsticks if you need them." I was really impressed by how thoughtful they were. Also, when I asked for a to-go box, they didn't just bring the box -- they also brought a plastic bag with it, which I really appreciated. I was thankful for how thoughtful and efficient all of the staff were in taking care of everything. I also really like that they serve rice in a hot stone pot, and later pour hot water into it so you can make crispy scorched rice (nurungji). I also really like that they serve fish together with the tofu stew.

When some of my family members from out of town were visiting, we decided to check out BCD Tofu House. It was a Monday evening, but surprisingly still busy. We got there around 6 pm and put down our names, and within 15 minutes were seated, which was not too bad considering the amount of people who were also waiting to be seated. There were six of us, so we ordered a couple of items. We started off with the seafood pancake which was delicious. We also ordered the bulgogi, the bibimbap, galbi, and a fish dish. Each item came with a soup and rice, and there were also a bunch of small side dishes like kimchi, and other veggies, eggs, mashed potatoes, and some salads. It was a lot of food. You will definitely not go feeling hungry after a meal here, so make sure you come hungry! All the food was delicious but my favorite was the beef short ribs or Galbi as the Koreans would call it. It was super flavorful and super tender and juicy. The only thing that fell short was the service a bit. Everyone was friendly and attentive but, we didn't get our rice till almost the end of the meal. I normally like to eat the rice with the meat, so by the time it actually arrived to the table, I could barely eat it, as I was too full from everything else. Overall, it's a spacious and great place for some authentic Korean bbq and food. I can't wait to come back here again. Especially for that galbi!

Mother's day special... if you are a mom over 65 years old, you get free serving of spicy raw crab or a bulgogi...nice. but darn it.. I'm not 65 yet but I'm still a mom!!! so please don't say mother's day special. in around 1pm. The wait was 30 minutes. The front porch was full with people waiting. Luckily, It moved pretty fast. My serves was friendly and fast. The food came out pretty fast too. Ladies in black taking care and keeping eyes on the situation were all smiles. Comfortable Ordered set 1 and 2, with seafood pancakes. Everything is delicious. Perfect temperature and very filling. The place is packed. Only problem is... table is too small to fit all the food that we ordered. Same thing to the table next to me. No place to put their hot plates.

A friend from K-town suggested this place, so I gave it a shot, and it did not disappoint. We ordered two BBQ combos (beef short ribs + chicken teriyaki), which was honestly the perfect amount for three people. Super filling -- we all left with full, happy tummies. We got there around 11:30 a.m on a Saturday and it was perfect timing. By the time we were halfway through eating, there was already a waitlist forming, so definitely come early if you can.

Hands down the best tofu soup & galbi in LA!! My go to is the LA Galbi Combo, which comes with BBQ short ribs, stone pot rice, and tofu soup. I usually get the seafood tofu soup because it comes with shrimp and clams! The BBQ short ribs are insanely good and tender. Well marinated and glazed with a semi sweet sauce sizzling over a pan of grilled onions. The flavors are immaculate and it pairs so well with the white rice. I love how the rice is served in a stone pot because the rice is crispy on the bottom and soft on the top. Best of both worlds! The tofu soup always comes with an egg and has great savory flavors. Tofu is soft and fresh. I also love the complimentary side dishes they give (kimchi, fried fish, fish cake). Free parking lot! Wait times could get long so I'd recommend getting there early to beat the rush! Super spacious inside with the choice to sit in booths or at regular tables. Service is great and quick. I love BCD! HEADSUP: the discounted lunch prices on the menu are only for the weekdays

When I need a meal that never misses, BCD is always the answer. This place is as consistent and reliable as it gets, and honestly feels like a home cooked meal from grandma every time. It's also home to one of the best late night eats in the city. My go to is the LA galbi combo and spicy pork bulgogi, and the flavors are always on point. Portions here are huge! Food comes out fast and the banchan spread is incredible. The fish cakes and fried fish are easily my favorites. Service is amazing no matter how busy it gets, any time of the day. This is Korean comfort food at its finest and I'll keep coming back whenever I need that warm hug of a meal.

I love BCD Tofu House! I had a taste for a kimchi stew and beef bulgogi and this place nailed both! I treated myself to lunch and ordered the kimchi stew with bulgogi. I loved how they gave me an egg to put on the inside of my steaming hot stew and the personalized fish as my starter. The banchan was delicious as well and I really enjoyed the kimchi. I love this location because it is clean, well ran and organized. Overall, this location has great service! I was seated immediately when I walked in and was given water as soon as I sat down! Can't wait to go back!

Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 I was brought here by my friend, he regularly come here and recommended. I was told that despite a lot of people waiting, they have plenty of tables inside and the line moves very fast. I found that was true and very happy about that. We just ordered tofu soups. When they brought the fish out I thought it was a mistake because I didn't ordered it. I just found out that was complimentary. I was very impressed. Customer service deserves 5 stars sides dishes kept on coming and kimchi was very fresh and delicious. My seafood tofu was also tasty. Highly recommended.

I've been here many times so this review is long overdue. BCD is the perfect casual dining that is good for any occasion, whether you're solo dining for lunch at 1:30 pm, or drunk at 1:30. I also get a combo which comes with a meal & tofu soup for around $30 which is a pretty good deal. The banchan is always fresh and really tasty, and I've tried a few of the entrees including the LA Galbi, the Spicy Pork Bulgogi, and the Bulgogi combo. Everything has been super filling, comforting, and packed with flavor. There's usually a wait, but service is always really fast once seated!

Heard so much about this place and finally got to try the seafood tofu soup. Service was quick and efficient. The place was clean and spacious. I can't wait to come back to try more! Tip: Be prepared to wait a little before being seated, especially during weekends. This location is big so the wait should be relatively short.

Went back with a bigger group and although the food is good, the experience wasn't as amazing as it was last time. I felt like we had to keep asking for things that they kept forgetting and when we did, they seem to be annoyed that we were asking for it, even though they were the ones that had forgotten about our ordered items. That being said, we will still probably be back.

When you're craving soft tofu soup, this is a good place to try. Their soft tofu soup is decent. I always order it medium spicy, but it's not very spicy. Their kimchi is usually very good, but today it was a bit bland. However, their spicy squid banchan is always good -- very tasty, and the garlic flavor blends well. One of my favorite banchan dishes is the fish cake; their fish cake is flavorful, and the sauce is well absorbed. The bibimbap comes with extra gochujang sauce. Thankfully, we didn't use it all! I recommend starting with half and adding more if needed. I like their spicy pork bulgogi -- it has a fiery, smoky flavor and the portion is large for one person. Definitely worth getting it to-go for the next day's meal. One thing I noticed: sometimes they scoop out the rice in the bowl and pour hot water in it, and sometimes they don't. Today, they didn't. It would be better if they were more consistent. Service is about 5 out of 10. The staff seem to just do their job without much attention to the tables. The host, cashiers, and some servers don't smile at all -- it feels a bit robotic, which is disappointing. I wish I could give 3.5 stars. I'm giving 4 stars because of the food.

Ask the Community - BCD Tofu House

    Do they have vegan kimchi?

probably not but j can ask if they add fish sauce, shrimp paste, and anchovy extract ingredients

Is it back to 24/7 hours? It shows 24/7 on the website as of August 2024.

If you order the meat by itself, do they give you more than if you order the meat and soondubu as a combo?

Personally, I think the portions are the same for both. This why I prefer the combo because you get more bang for your buck!

    Is this place dog friendly?

From my experience dogs are not allowed.

Do I need vaccine card or can I show negative test. Ty?

    Both is fine

Is the soup still delicious if delivered ? I feel like it is likely best enjoyed at the restaurant rather than delivered?

What I've done is if delivery takes more than 15 minutes, I just put it in a pot and heat for 3 minutes, and it's fine.

Will you guys operate 24 hours again?

What's a good item to order?

Soft tofu soup, seafood pancake, hot stone bowls

What parking is available given COVID?

There's still plenty of parking spots. As they have outdoor dining, the seating in the parking lot does not affect the parking spots. Still plenty of parking.

    Do they take apple pay?

I don't think so, I highly doubt it. If they do it's new.

    Do they have parking?

They have plenty of FREE parking. It's a big lot.

What is the fish they serve with the banchan?

Yellow croaker (formally known as larimichthys polyactis)

    Do they deliver?

Yes but only via door dash, grub hub, & postmates

Love BCD but haven't been to this location in a long time. Will this "24-7" location be open Labor Day? (Monday 3rd September?)

    Yes!! 24/7 365 days a year

    Is the soondubu broth vegetarian?

    Yes! They have veggie broth!
