I've passed by BCD so many times in ktwon and know Rose loves this place so I finally had to try it for dinner with some friends. Although there is ALWAYS a line outside they are pretty efficient with their system and it goes by quickly. They also have a parking lot which is a plus in this area. For a group of 3 for a Thursday night dinner we were seated within 10 mins. Once we sat down and were ready to order, we got food within 10 mins (SO FAST) Had to try a couple of their popular items such as the + Assorted Soon Tofu (tofu is so soft and glad I got mild - they do not kid you with the spice) + Galbi (nice sweetness to balance the spice of the soup) + Seafood pancake (great crunch and texture change from the other items) I also enjoyed that the banchan came with a mackerel and was a nice addition to what you normally get. I was also debating on getting the marinated crab but it said spicy so this time I opted out haha I see why they are a favorite and would definitely come back to try their other meats and maybe venture to a new spice level. read more

Fourth review with two stars in my over 7 years of being a Yelp Elite.... Sadly, it had to be done. So I came to this location with a couple of out of town Korean friends on a Saturday afternoon, at around 7pm (one was visiting for a week, the other has been living and working here for the past 4 years but also originally from Korea). One of my friends had to wait in the car because she had to finish some work, meanwhile, my other friend and I put our names down for a party of 3 for a table, and waited outside (you have to wait in the open lobby area that's just outside the restaurant to get a text message). Once the text message arrived, at around 7:45pm, my friend and I walked over to speak with the two hosts and let them know we were next, one was named Alejandro and the other was some nice Korean woman I wasn't able to get the name of. As I approached Alejandro, I started dialing my other friend that was in the car and talking with her on the phone, letting her know to make her way over. As I was doing this, I showed him my text message to the host Alejandro, and he proceeded to ask me if the full party was here (he saw I was on the phone), I quickly interrupted my friend on the phone to tell him that two of us were, but the other one was already on her way, as a matter of fact, she was exiting my car and less than 25 meters away. As I was trying to explain this to the host Alejandro (and yes, I do catch the irony of the dude having my same name, unfortunately, we do not have the same manners, haha) what followed from him was the most loud, relentless, obnoxious berating ever, telling me how the whole party should be present, blah, blah, blah. I was trying to explain to him that my friend was walking over, but he kept being rude, obnoxious, talking over me, and not letting me explain myself. Since he was berating me as if I was some 3 year old toddler that he'd been scolding the whole day, and to avoid escalating further, I told him that we wouldn't be talking anymore and I told my Korean friend to instead talk to the Korean hostess himself, and I distanced myself from the dude. Not even 2 minutes had passed when my other friend (as I was just trying to tell the host Alejandro) walked in through the door, and the Korean hostess was able to get us seated (I asked her about the name of the dude that had been berating me and scolding me, without letting me talk, and she hesitated at first but eventually told me his name was Alejandro). The meal followed. Probably 20 to 30 mins later, what looked like the assistant manager of the restaurant (some Korean dude I couldn't even get the name of) approached our table acknowledged and nodded toward my two Korean friends, (my back was facing the entrance of the restaurant, I was facing the corner windows), and once he saw me and noticed whatever he had to notice, he quickly ignored me and didn't even give me a nod or anything. Two extremely rude individuals in one evening is a tad much. My friends and I really enjoyed the food, and although I've been a regular at this location for several years already, it will no longer be the case after this bad experience. read more

Today (5/24/2026, Sunday), we had a family dinner at BCD Tofu House. My Mom really loves this place, so we've been coming here very often for years -- probably more than 50 times. Today, I ordered the Dumpling Tofu Stew (Medium), and my father and my two brothers ordered Seafood Tofu Stew and Pork Bulgogi. My mom ordered the Combination Tofu Soup (Medium) with the Galbi Combo. All of the side dishes here are delicious, and the tofu stew is always so tasty The galbi is also really good, so everyone in our family always enjoys coming here. Today was even better because all of the staff members were incredibly kind and attentive. Especially when I accidentally dropped my chopsticks -- before I even had a chance to say that I needed another pair, one of the staff members noticed and brought me new chopsticks, saying, "Here are some chopsticks if you need them." I was really impressed by how thoughtful they were. Also, when I asked for a to-go box, they didn't just bring the box -- they also brought a plastic bag with it, which I really appreciated. I was thankful for how thoughtful and efficient all of the staff were in taking care of everything. I also really like that they serve rice in a hot stone pot, and later pour hot water into it so you can make crispy scorched rice (nurungji). When some of my family members from out of town were visiting, we decided to check out BCD Tofu House. It was a Monday evening, but surprisingly still busy. We got there around 6 pm and put down our names, and within 15 minutes were seated, which was not too bad considering the amount of people who were also waiting to be seated. There were six of us, so we ordered a couple of items. We started off with the seafood pancake which was delicious. We also ordered the bulgogi, the bibimbap, galbi, and a fish dish. Each item came with a soup and rice, and there were also a bunch of small side dishes like kimchi, and other veggies, eggs, mashed potatoes, and some salads. It was a lot of food. You will definitely not go feeling hungry after a meal here, so make sure you come hungry! All the food was delicious but my favorite was the beef short ribs or Galbi as the Koreans would call it. It was super flavorful and super tender and juicy. The only thing that fell short was the service a bit. Everyone was friendly and attentive but, we didn't get our rice till almost the end of the meal. I normally like to eat the rice with the meat, so by the time it actually arrived to the table, I could barely eat it, as I was too full from everything else. I usually get the seafood tofu soup because it comes with shrimp and clams! The BBQ short ribs are insanely good and tender. I've been here many times so this review is long overdue. BCD is the perfect casual dining that is good for any occasion, whether you're solo dining for lunch at 1:30 pm, or drunk at 1:30. I also get a combo which comes with a meal & tofu soup for around $30 which is a pretty good deal. The banchan is always fresh and really tasty, and I've tried a few of the entrees including the LA Galbi, the Spicy Pork Bulgogi, and the Bulgogi combo. I and my family always go here for the tofu soup. In terms of the tofu soup, hands down, this is the very best place to go. Their soup, side dishes and kimchi, fish are so good and so authentic. The only thing is, you will have to wait around an hour at least and they are that popular. So, you have to come early or later but I believe they have waiting list online by yelp now. When you're craving soft tofu soup, this is a good place to try. Their soft tofu soup is decent. I always order it medium spicy, but it's not very spicy. Their kimchi is usually very good, but today it was a bit bland. However, their spicy squid banchan is always good -- very tasty, and the garlic flavor blends well. One of my favorite banchan dishes is the fish cake; their fish cake is flavorful, and the sauce is well absorbed. The bibimbap comes with extra gochujang sauce. Thankfully, we didn't use it all! I recommend starting with half and adding more if needed. I like their spicy pork bulgogi -- it has a fiery, smoky flavor and the portion is large for one person. Definitely worth getting it to-go for the next day's meal. One thing I noticed: sometimes they scoop out the rice in the bowl and pour hot water in it, and sometimes they don't. Today, they didn't. It would be better if they were more consistent. Service is about 5 out of 10. The staff seem to just do their job without much attention to the tables. The host, cashiers, and some servers don't smile at all -- it feels a bit robotic, which is disappointing. I wish I could give 3.5 stars. I'm giving 4 stars because of the food. read more

Whenever my family and I head down to Southern California, we always make sure to go to a BCD location. It's that good. Ambiance is very lively, and this place is always packed. Their portions are filling and honestly, large enough that you might have to take the leftovers home. The kids meal is available to kids 7 and below, but honestly, the portions are so large I think it would be enough for kids older than that too. Service is always amazing. Grew up in LA K-Town so this place holds a dear place in my heart. My family used to eat here during special occasions or when we finished Sunday church at St. Basil. As an ode to my dad, I took him here for a little celebratory lunch before he went back to the Philippines. We opted for a surf-n-turf option so we ordered the mackerel and LA galbi ribs. Each meal set comes with your own soon tofu, rice and banchan. The mackerel was cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside but yet soft white meat inside. The squeeze of lemon brings this S-MACKerel over the top. Now of course, this fish has a distinct flavor so if fish is not your jam, then I'm sure their galbi ribs will surely satisfy. The ribs are always deliciously marinated and that smoky flavor imparted by the grill is just chef's kiss. For good measure, we also ordered the fried Mandi (dumplings). They were so good and it's hard not to eat more than two. The banchan was also legit. The sundubu jigae (tofu soup) always comes out piping out and bubbly. I'm sure some people would argue that restaurants are better. But for me, this BCD tofu location beats others in customer service and food quality. I'm from oc and when im craving something that's comforting and close to home, I go to bcd because there are multiple locations there that I would always go to. I always enjoyed this location because it was big and the workers are really kind. I got the seafood pancake with the la galbi combo which i got the kimchi soup (medium spice). However, I don't know if it is normally spicy because when i had it, the spice was not there at all, so maybe they forgot? I really did enjoy the meal, everything came at a timely manner and I love the side dishes they give out. Probably one of the best kimchi and spicy cucumber sides I've had from a restaurant! For that price, this is a steal considering all of the side dishes are AYCE. The only bummer is that it's not spicy at all despite the fire emoji warning on the menu. That's okay, maybe it was because we went after midnight. Maybe they sized me up and figured I couldn't handle spice? It was still delicious. Took some home to chop up with eggs and papas and make chorizo. Soybean Paste Soon Tofu : - with beef, mushroom, and squash clam(?) according to the menu. This is great, and this isn't a traditional thing to do but I add rice and kimchi and other side dishes to this soup. I sampled my friend's Seafood Soon soup and it tasted like a siete mares caldo. The food was delicious and what you would expect from a tofu house. The portions were big enough to share with friends and family. The restaurant had their own parking lot behind which is a big plus especially in LA. It felt like the Korean aunties were serving us. It was real nice touch. Everything looked nice and clean. The soon dubu and banchan are delicious and generous in proportion. They can be customized by spice level and fir vegetarians and vegans. Service is always polite and helpful. The ambience is noisy and crowded at 8:00 pm on a weeknight. There's usually a ling wait, but worth it. The ample patio makes the wait less uncomfortable. If you ever want soup, this is a great place to go to for soondooboo or tofu soup. I typically go for mild with ham, sausage and cheese. It's what I've ordered here since I was a teenager and I think it's the best flavor they have. Normally, I don't like meats like ham, but I think what makes this particular dish stand out is that they melt cheese into the soup as well, giving it more of a creamier flavor than its counterparts on the menu. I really enjoy the panchan here and it's always fun to be able to get different sides, a fish, a bowl of hot water in a pot with rice you can scrape off to cleanse your palate, and an egg to crack into your soup as well. It's truly a full experience when you come here. Another nice thing about the venue is that they have large tables, so if you ever want to do an event here, there's enough room for everyone. Plus, their staff is super attentive and nice and will continually refill your panchan and water here without ever asking. The service is actually quite impeccable.
