This was actually my first time dining in, and I really enjoyed the experience. It's a family-run spot that keeps things simple and lets the food do the talking. The pupusas are thick, freshly made, and cooked until the outside gets a nice golden crust while the inside is packed with filling. One thing I appreciated was that they don't skimp on the curtido. They give you a generous bowl, along with a squeeze bottle of their roja sauce so you can add as much as you like without having to ask for refills. The only downside is parking. As a Salvadoran, I can be a little picky when it comes to pupusas. No restaurant can ever match my mom's pupusas but I'm always willing to go in with an open mind and belly. I had the agua de marañón, which was sweet and delicious. I also ordered an atole de elote. It was creamy and good! I ordered pupusas revueltas, de queso and chicharrón, and frijoles and queso. All of the pupusas were incredibly tasty. I wish they had the zucchini ones as well. For dessert the empanadas de platano. Omg so amazing. This location is walking distances from where I live however I never carry cash and they ONLY accept cash. I paid $20 for 5 pupusas + postmates fee + tip. I was expecting small pupusas since the ones I've usually had are decent size. I was in for a shock. After waiting for 1 HOUR for my food I received 5 HUGE pupusas. These pupusas were no joke. This is a wonderful hole in the wall restaurant. These are the best pupusas in LA! They are cheap, huge, and flavorful. The staff are always really friendly and welcoming. As soon as I walked in I realized that the restaurant was not to busy with customers but then realized as I waited that alot of the orders that they had pending or working on are pick up orders. That is exactly what I did, called in my order and it took around 40-50 min to be ready. I love the fact that you feel the authenticity with how the restaurant is runned by a few ladies and one gentleman doing all the heavy work. Reminds me of a family owned place where everyone puts in their part to make it run smoothly. I got home and the pupusas that I ordered taste delicious. I'm not a huge fan of cheese over powering my pupusas which I know most people are, and that's why I rate this a 5 star because everything was delicious other than that minor preference of mine. I ordered a plate of Nachos and four Pupusas, Chicharrón, and Mixed (revuelta) Delivery was timely and the food items were well packed. Everything was fresh and arrived warm. The Nachos were crunchy and the guacamole that accompanied them was very well seasoned. The Pupusas were, as big as my head, and easily weighed 2 pounds. The filling of the Pupusas was on point, providing stringy cheese and juicy, seasoned pork. The curtido was plentiful and married the flavors together well. I'm in NYC dreaming of this food. I guess it's a hot spot in Los Angeles, and I have to admit the Pupusas are good, but parking, location, and customer service is pretty lacking. My wife's family is Salvadorian (Salvadoran sounds uppity and too Anglo for me), so whenever my mother-in-law doesn't feel like making them herself, she places an order and makes the 30 minute drive from Long Beach to this place. I believe that every time she goes to pick up her food they repeatedly tell her "we don't have that order anywhere, are you sure you ordered it?" Basically they call her a liar and say they'll honor it though and just make it now... how about just say, "we don't do pre-orders" and that's it! It's not just my wife's family who I see go through this, it's everybody who allegedly pre-ordered having the same issues. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and say that's it's because of the Holiday rush, but come on man!!! I will say this though. Their budget is primarily for the food, which is good, cuz the inside itself is very goodwill-ish... meaning the decor and table settings are the last thing on their mind.
