    Columbian platter to go
    Michelle T.

Very friendly staff and place was packed with locals. We ordered their traditional Columbian platter to go. To our surprise it was not as good as other places we've been to. The steak was good but the chicharron was too hard and overly fried. The rice and beans were too soggy wet. We would visit again to try their meat platter for 2 as we saw locals ordered it and it looked really good.

My Colombian girlfriend recommended this spot, and it was some of the best breakfast I've ever had. If you want a fine Colombian breakfast, Come to this spot! Some of the best coffee I've ever had. The bunuelo tastes like a donut. Highly recommend you dip it in your coffee for the heavenly taste. The pandemonium is a fluffy and cheesy bread that melts in your mouth. For breakfast I recommend their carne asada with eggs and cheese bread. Mix the aji sauce with the steak for the perfect combination of meat with spice. The staff are very friendly and love to host people interested in learning more about Colombian culture.

Bring your appetite, these plates are fully loaded. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. I got the steak plate with rice and beans. My friend got the Calentado. No complaints! You already know I took my leftovers home haha. Although they did charge a fee for the takeout container, was a small amount.

The other day, I left my nail salon after what felt like hours. I felt famished, and the only thing I could think of that could fill me was hot crispy empanadas. I decided to walk down the block to Sabor de Colombia and I am so glad that I made that choice. Upon first entering the restaurant, the ambience is of a typical family style restaurant. The milk-shaker is buzzing in the background as batidos are getting poured out, there are people sitting in cute tables. The space is large but not crowded. Sunny and cute for a quick meal with family or friends. I quickly asked for one empanada of each kind - queso, pollo, carne. The empanadas were sitting in the case but they were hot and fresh. I took my small brown bag, full of pockets of goodness, and perched myself on a bench outside the park. The queso empanada was so good - perfectly cheesy and gooey and generous with filling. The accompanying spicy sauce is perfect and just the right balance of tart and spicy. The carne empanada was a dream. Shreds of beefy goodness mashed in to soft succulent potato - encased in a hot crispy corn shell. The shell to filling ratio is JUST RIGHT. A marriage made in heaven with the spicy sauce. Pollo empanada was similar, the filling feeling more pasty than the carne. I honestly prefer the texture of meat of the carne more; but both empanadas are phenomenal and you couldn't go wrong with either. Overall, this is a great Local neighborhood spot for great Colombian food, especially the empanadas.

This food was just to die for. I brought all my family and friends from different ethnicities and they don't even wait for me anymore to go back. Definitely better and improved new management

I first discovered this restaurant last year when I had an internship in Sunset Park. I had stayed overnight and was craving Columbian breakfast, so I went in and ordered huevos pericos con frijoles, one of my all-time favorite dishes. It came piping hot and with a fresh arepa on top. I savored every last bite because it was so delicious. I've been back a few times just for that breakfast. Not only is the food incredible, the staff is so friendly. Whether you live in the area or are just visiting, do yourself a favor and try this place!

Ordered the rotisserie chicken with garlic sauce and got it with yellow rice and tostones. (9 out of 10) Also tried the empanada sampler which came with four empanadas of my choosing and tried the Beef, shrimp, chicken, and birria. (8 out of 10) I mean this sincerely... everything was beyond flavorful. The rotisserie garlic chicken had to be my favorite bite of the night but each empanada included in the sampler was crispy, tender, and decadent; each one leaving its own individual mark. Seriously blown away and might even had to stop in to try the food at the restaurant next time. Can't wait to see order from here again!

Service: Good. Got checked on regularly by friendly staff:…read more Ambiance: loud, colorful, probably a good fit for a loud drunk brunch vibe. A lot of seating and a back area with fans. Food: This place is quite bad. We ordered the tortilla soup and the vegan tofu chimichurri. The tortilla soup was inedible it was so salty. The tofu was grilled and entirely burnt on the bottom. I had to slice the entire bottom off. The chimichurri sauce was flavorful. The yellow rice side seemed like bagged instant rice. The maduros were good. Did not try the alcohol but they had a large selection including non alcoholic options. The place adds a 20% auto gratuity fee. Kind of absurd on a 2 person check. I am Latina so perhaps I have a higher expectation for Latin food but I'm perplexed at how this place could have such high ratings, perhaps it was just a bad night. I would never go back and would not recommend.

We asked for a bucket of beer and we only received six cold beer with no bucket. Ik they may have ran out of buckets due to the amount of people ordering it, but at least mentioning it before or explaining it once they put the beers on our table. We also asked for the check 10 minutes before the game ended, and we just saw the waitress walking back and forth into the kitchen and out of it. Finally, she took a glance over our table and remembered we asked for it. Waitress at this restaurant should be better trained and have a better synchronized system with the tvs. Not recommended if you're going to see a sports game.
