I got the croissant triple 'B' and my partner got the oeufs au benedicte. Although both dishes were good portions, I do believe that the prices were a bit pricey for what they are. Moreover, I thought that the service was okay. When we first came in, they said they were cleaning a table for us but it took about 15 minutes for us to get seated. In addition, the dishes took about 30 minutes to come out, so it was a bit longer than I expected for brunch. However! We did get a change to meet the owner, who came in as we dined. You could tell how involved he is in the business and he is so lively. It made the whole experience very fun, and we even sang 'Happy Birthday' for a couple people who were celebrating their birthdays that week! Because of that, I think the experience of the bistro itself was one of my favorites. Aside from that, I thought that the food and service were alright.

The savory beignets were amazingly delicious as was the cheesecake with berry compote. Mmm, thank you!! The restaurant is filled with beautiful orchids and plants, cared for by the owner, who was a pleasure to meet. I'll be back and can't wait to try brunch too!

Everyone was so locked in, it was honestly kind of beautiful to watch how well coordinated they are were, bravo. Food was amazing, from the bread to the entree all the way to the desserts. I was delighted that I could order what ever I wanted and it be gluten free by default. My favorites were the peanut greens and the pork coppa, of the savory. Spicy for sure, won't be a 5 star meal for you if you cannot tolerate spice. The desserts were to die for, and I wish I could've taken more home. We got the baked haiti and the ice cream mosaic, and definitely get both if you're stuck between them. Perfectly balanced rum cake with a smooth meringue and what amounted to basically an ice-cream sandwich.. it was the perfect way to end the evening.

WHAT!?!? Love…read moreBelizean is an absolute hidden gem in Portland! From the moment my wife and I walked in, we were greeted by the warmest couple running the place. Their kindness and friendliness made us feel right at home, and they offered wonderful insights into the food and culture of Belize--a destination we're eager to visit. The menu is delightfully simple, featuring chicken and rice, but don't let that fool you. This isn't like anything you've tasted before! The chicken is bursting with flavor, and the rice is simply to die for. They serve the food in take-out containers, which adds a casual charm to the dining experience--it's actually quite brilliant. Portland, you absolutely need to check these folks out and tell all your friends. Love Belizean is a culinary treasure that deserves all the attention it can get. Thank you both for such a memorable meal!

I am drooling thinking about this place already. The service was on par. Our server came over and described the makings of the plate, and the sauces and how to use. A++++

We enjoyed the food on Puerto Rico on our cruise so this was a treat. The restaurant was vibrant with island decor and family photos on the walls. My wife ordered a Mojito and I had a Rum and Coke. The mojito was underwhelming and was missing flavor. On to the food..... I ordered the Mofongo with pork and my wife had the garlic chicken. My meal was moist and tasty along with being filling. The garlic chicken was pounded thin and overcooked, very dry and hard to eat. The accompanying beans, rice and salad were very good. I mentioned the quality or lack of to the waiter (I think was the owner) and he questioned me like I was wrong. No apologies given. I didn't ask for a discount and wasn't given one. All I would have liked was an acknowledgement. We won't be back especially with a food truck park within a quarter mile away with almost 30 assorted trucks.

We ordered the Tenderized Steak Marinated in a Garlicy Vinegar sauce, the Mofongo with roasted pork, and empanadas to share. The standout dish for me was the Mofongo. It was a unique dish that I hadn't tried before. It came in like one of the mortar shaped bowls with like smashed plantains and the slow roasted pork in the middle. It was pretty good. The Marinated Steak was decent and had a good flavor to it, but the Mofongo would be my recommendation.
