We first tried to drop by on Day 1, but the place was so crowded that we couldn't get a table. We made sure to book a reservation and returned for lunch the next day. The ambience here is amazing, and the service was top-notch. Our server was great and took the time to explain the menu details to us. We ordered a bunch of different items, and everything tasted pretty good. The paella was definitely the absolute highlight of the meal! While I wish the vegetables had been roasted just a bit more, the rice itself was extremely flavorful. The sautéed mushrooms and Brussels sprouts were another massive highlight--they are an absolute must-try from the menu. We loved them so much that we actually placed a repeat order for them during our meal! Overall, we had a fantastic time here. Definitely visit this spot when you are in the city!

There's plenty of tables and a long bar with ample seats. The service has been mostly good. The wine list is ample and the cocktail selection is massive. I haven't had a bad drink here. This most recent time, I ordered the 45 minute paella. I don't mind waiting with a glass of wine or cocktail for something that's a treat like paella. Sadly, when it came out it was disappointing. The seafood was cooked well but a little underseasoned. The rice was very bland. I'd chalk it up to someone having a bad night, but this is the second time I ordered the paella and was disappointed. Sad to say, there are enough better restaurants in Mac that I don't think I'll rush back here on my next trip to the area.

It was fun watching all the variety of dishes come together. Service was great, just the right amount of attentive. Food was amazing. Apparently, unlike the Napa/Sonoma area, Willamette wine country is not known for food, but after…read moresome research, we came across Cozy Taberna, which is a tapas style place in downtown Salem. We reserved on Tock, and it was mostly full on a Friday night. Drinks: lots of local beers are available, but I went with the Pineapple Express: she warned it was spicy, and it indeed was (in a really good way). All of the food is done family style: - Clams Galicia: with tomato, chorizo, bacon broth. This broth as amazing. I literally drank it with a spoon - Pan con tomate: slightly different from classic preparation - more flavorful and heavier on the toppings - Salmorejo: tomato and bread puree, Serrano, jammy egg - like a creamy gazpacho - Grilled asparagus: with whipped ricotta and a cured egg yolk - Squid ink pasta: with hazelnuts, caramelized onions, peppers, and a runny egg yolk, a bit spicy. This dish was my favorite - Honey brined pork chop with a basque piperade sauce The servers were all great about checking in. I would definitely recommend the squid ink pasta and the clams if you're in town!

Pollo Bravo -- Killingsworth, Portland…read more Yes. I know. This is not a bowl. But even The Acai Guy must occasionally respect the bird. Pulled up to Pollo Bravo on Killingsworth and immediately loved the location. Easy, neighborhood energy. The kind of spot that feels like it's about to become "your place." Ordered takeaway -- rotisserie chicken (my preference, always) and the cauliflower. Let's talk chicken. Rotisserie over grilled. I stand by it. Juicy. Well cooked. Light enough to feel healthy, satisfying enough to feel like a proper meal. No dry nonsense. No over-seasoned chaos. Just solid execution. Is it the best chicken I've ever had? No. Is it flirting with the medal dais? Absolutely. Now the cauliflower. Whatever that green sauce was... keep it coming. Bottle it. Franchise it. It elevated the whole situation. I would order that again purely as a sauce delivery vehicle. Service? Quick. Smiling. Efficient. In and out with zero friction. We appreciate professionals. I grabbed takeaway this time, but I could easily see this as: * Casual dinner with my girl * Low-pressure link-up with friends * "Let's eat something that feels responsible" night Would I come back? Yes. The podium is within reach. Vibe inside was quiet, but a weekday, and felt like lunch counter situation, so if on a date, I'd recommend ordering food then going next door to Up North Surf Club. Back to the sando.. to each their own. It has potato salad on it, which is kind of unique, to me kind of leftover Sunday sandwich vibe. The breading was perfectly crispy, but a flaky crust I personally feel better paired to fish than chicken or pork (assuming they use the same batter for the pork loin). Potatoes were ok, but not remarkable. Spices were right, but just didn't sing for me. Service was nice enough. I did like the aioli as a dipping side for the taters. Would come back to try the chicken not in sandwich form.. I've heard good things!
