I really liked the atmosphere inside, not super fancy but totally has that Mexico beach feel. It just has that real Mexican vibe inside. This place also has something I've never had as an free appetizer from a Mexican restaurant before, a free bowl of pozole. I did have to wait awfully long despite the fact that there were only a few other parties inside of the restaurant. Mind you this was my first time ever eating mojarra so I can't compare it to other places, but I liked what I got. The fish was well grilled and had a nice taste to it. Would I had enjoyed this place more if I got a food that I was more familiar with, I probably would had enjoyed it more. This place deserves another visit from me but for now I'll say that this place is decent. The service definitely could had been better but I'm not gonna complain too much about that. read more

Its pretty good but not a 4 star restaurant. It's clean, they are polite and pleasant and welcoming . The food is generous and fresh. The menu has photos and is extensive and they have a number of unique items I have not seen elsewhere. Unfortunately, on my first visit it was nothing special. I had a ceviche tostada and my wife had the coctél ( seafood cocktail). So we both had citrus cured fish so not much variety. That was our choice. The chips and salsa were good but nothing great. Would I go again? Sure, because I love Mexican style fish. Maybe next time I will order better and enjoy it more. Try it and see what you think. read more

Woo wee! This place serves authentic seafood from a Hispanico background and they nailed it. They have come leaps and bounds from when they first opened, everything is repainted, very bright, the menu is varied and easy to read, the servers are knowledgeable, friendly and very fast. They start you off with a bowl of Taliban, which is a warm shrimp "chowder" that has shrimp cooked to perfection, potatoes, carrots, onion in a spicy broth with a slice of lemon on the side, it will warm you through to your bones. I had the Sopes with chicken, it came piled with everything I love, pico de Gallo, cotija, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce and the kicker HOME MADE BEANS, I would have eaten those beans in a bowl with nothing else, they were so buttery and rich in flavor. When I go back I will be ordering vegetarian sopes so that I can have additional beans! My husband ordered the Molcajete Calentao but I loving nicknamed it as the "beast bowl", My man has an appetite and he definitely put an effort into eating this, besides all of the food the is draped over the sides and cooked to perfection, the middle of the bowl is filled with this rich sauce full of warm notes including curry which surprised me, but it is full of veggies there's red peppers Green peppers onions potatoes it is like an additional soup plus all the meat and veggies and tortillas! The environment here is wonderful, it's definitely a neighborhood spot, there's so many people coming and nobody minds even close to each other, the bar is perfect for sitting at, and when we arrived there were actually mariachis there singing and they left about half an hour after we started our dinner but it was really delightful to have them there and it was not overwhelming with their music at all they kept it very professional so that everyone could enjoy the sound level. What a wonderful restaurant they have. Mariscos is a small friendly diner with a very robust menu offering multiple Mexican dishes and many great seafood options. The fish tacos were ok he best part of the meal, but the fajita burrito did not disappoint! I would also strongly suggest the drink menu, as it has lots of options and a very pocket friendly reverse happy hour. In a town full of latino locals with so many mexican restaurants all around you'd think one more would just blend. Not this one! I was so "giddy" to see this place pop up and in the heart of it all. One new, clean and big mexican restaurant shining. I thought I heard angels singing when I entered into the place. That was mariachi music.. ok nothing like angels but still. The restaurant is full of energy and happy people dancing to your tables happy to be waiting on you. OK not like that but.. I have to tell you this spot had a super old chinese restaurant in here for years. It was dark, dingy and you wondered what it really was. I had not stepped into this location in 15 years? Now it's just like a breath of fresh air. The menu is packed with so many different choices and since this is a marisco place it is loaded with fish and seafood options!!! They also managed to get their liquor license pronto!!! Now for the food part since ya I know you've been waiting. I just had to "indulge" on some background. Speaking of indulging though I ordered the Camerons Diablo.. and yes, the devil was in the sauce. I asked for it spicy and they took me seriously! Yes! Oh and no melted cheese on anything! Yes again.. just the nice white cojito cheese dusted over my creamy and flavorful beans. Even their rice had a little bit of onion, green pepper. We got a side of chile rellano to see what type they make. It's breaded on the outside for those of you that like that. When you cut into it the cheese drips out.. perfectly cooked. I had a margarita. Strong but not my favorite because it's just from a mix but that's to be expected and pretty normal in this type of establishment. I had also asked for some hotter salsa before even tasting their original salsa they brought to the table with chips that were warm and homemade. They made us a special salsa that was so creamy and spicy. I still regret that I did not ask to take it home. Next time. This Mexican restaurant is great they also specialize in sea food. (squid, octopus, shrimp, oyster shooters, ceviche) I went here for my boyfriends birthday and mine and a bunch of family and friends and the food was great the staff where great to help accommodate us considering there was over 15 of us that night and we took up most of there space. We got a free birthday shot for the both of us the sea food was great i had my 1st raw oyster and it was not bad at all lol its good with lime/lemon juice and a splash of Valentina hot sauce and a cold beer to go down. You just have to get past the seaweed taste after lol. I recommend this place for those who enjoy Mexican food and really love sea food and are adventurous enough to try both in a spicy manor. My husband and I decided to try this place out. Awful! Do not waste your money or time. I ordered fish taco. Only took one bite, because it was so terrible. Very oily. Not sure if it was fish at all. Husband had ordered enchiladas. He only took one bite and couldn't eat. It was mystery looking meat. The rice had an odd flavor. When you first sit down they give you a small cup of an odd red sauce with shrimp. Not good. They didn't offer to provide anything else or discount any of the bill. Do not go there!!! This place is DELICIOUS and authentic and the people that work here are nice. You aren't going to get generic American-style Mexican cuisine (large portion of bland food) but you will get some of the freshest, well seasoned seafood I've ever had. Their ceviche is to die for. When I called the restaurant to notify them, the woman that answered told me that the reason I did not receive the other 2 items was due to the prices actually being more than what I was charged. She told me that she informed the driver of this and then said it was not her problem and that if I wanted the items I would have to come pick them up and pay the difference. Fortunately, DoorDash refunded my money so I could go elsewhere. The two items I did receive were horrible and the fajitas were spilled out in the bag. This was a terrible experience. First of all, I think they opened before they were ready because they didn't even have enough menus for each patron. The waitress was a little sweetheart and very apologetic about everything, all through the meal. The mariachi band was like nothing we've ever experienced, they were so loud, 3 different parents took their small children outside! Seriously, it was so loud it was hilarious. The ceviches we ordered (shrimp and octopus, shrimp combination) were delicious. We got a big plate of it for 2 tostadas. So fresh and amazing. I had to take away a star because of the service. They kept forgetting about us being there. We didn't get drinks then didnt receive silverware. The waitress never came back to give us the check and again we had to go look for someone. I discovered this place by accident when in the area and decided to get some takeout because I was famished and had a bit of time to kill before going to work. Firstly, even though the place was packed, the gracious staff saw to me pretty fast. After taking a peek at their menu, I could see why they were so busy. They have all the bases covered, and everything I saw on people's plates looked amazing. I went with the camarones a la diabla. I was even served a complimentary cup of their delicious shrimp soup while I waited for my order. My order was absolutely delicious. Seriously though, look at the menu. My husband and I had been looking around for some outstanding Mexican food after one of our favorite restaurants closed, when we stumbled across Mariscos el Malecon. When we saw that the place was absolutely packed with latinos, and we saw the Mariachi musicians, we knew we had to try it. We have yet to be disappointed. The food has been consistently top notch and we have yet to find an item we don't like. Their specialty is seafood and they have an amazing variety to choose from. I tend to like smaller meals, so when I saw they had Sope's on their menu (I hadn't had one since I visited Mexico City) I had to try them--and they were amazing! A Sope is similar to a tostada, but the shell is a thicker crisp corn-meal that almost looks like a waffle. The shell was flavorful and crispy, the steak was perfectly flavored and the Mexican queso outstanding! I will definitely order those again. We took our adult daughter there for her 24th birthday, and she declared it is her new favorite Mexican restaurant. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the staff is very friendly. On that particular occasion, we went early and the mariachi's were not there. However, they did have a gentleman announce her birthday and they played 2 birthday songs on their big screen video player. Of course, that was topped off with a delicious flan presented to her complete with birthday candle! Additionally, a sweet older man made sure to hold the door open for us, both coming and going. This restaurant is not fancy, but the food is delicious and the people are friendly. Love this place and we will definitely be back! read more

Worst service ever!! Very rude waitresses, when they took out chips and salsa the waitress didn't even said hello and after getting our food no one went back to check on our table. Very bad ceviche, more veggies than fish, on the campechana there was only one oyster when on the menu says it comes with oysters, they should specifically say it's only one oyster, and paying $21 for a bowl of cucumber, tomato, and onions I don't think so, plus not even good flavor on the juice. Micheladas the worst I have ever had, i couldn't even taste the beer, very crowded tables, bathrooms very dirty and bad smell. This was our first and last time here. Very bad experience, on food, service, and atmosphere. We do not recommend this place to anyone, much better places to eat than here. read more

I didn't know it was possible to sell Mexican food this boring in a largely Hispanic neighborhood. Even the beans and rice were soporific. The outliers were my entree, which was decent, and the starter soup, which tasted ... a lot like how wet hay bales smell, if that makes sense ... only it had less flavor than I imagine that would.
