Food is usually pretty good, but there are definitely shortcuts done that make it a little less authentic, or tasty. For example using American cheese as a topping instead of cotija, that would just make a dish stand out. Tamales are delicious! Service is good. read more

Stopped in on my way thru town. Ordered a cheeseburger and fries I also added two hard shell tacos. The burger was very plain but came with crinkle cut fries. The fries were great. The burger was salty. Almost as if it was punishment for leaving a dollar on the tip line. This is a drive thru. No. No tipping in a drive thru! We stopped off on our way through Estacada because it had a drive-through and tacos always sound good. This place was fast and reasonably priced. I had the chicken tacos and the flavor was great! My kiddo had the burger and fries. The burger was delicious and the fries were chrispy and had great seasoning. Good place to stop on your way out of town! read more

This place is a bit of a hole in the wall, semi-fast food drive-thru, but it is surprisingly good! Their beans are so tasty! Not like the bland offerings you get at so many fast food places. And the food isn't fast-food style, even though it comes out quickly. When you get a crispy taco, it's done authentically - meat inserted, toothpick to hold it closed, then fried. Not a pre-cooked shell like one would get at the grocery store. We are staying in the area for a month while visiting family and have gone here 4 or 5 times now. Everything we've had has been very good! The burritos are huge! I just can't complain about anything. I haven't had everything on the menu, so maybe there is something I wouldn't rave about, but I haven't found it yet. Both my husband and I are native Californians, being born and raised in So. Cal., so we grew up with the best Mexican food in the country. We travel full time around the country in our motorhome and have all but given up on Mexican food for while we are on the road because once we leave California, it becomes bland and boring and in some states, it is made with shockingly bad ingredients. Example, I've had a cheese enchilada that was made with American cheese and my husband had tacos that were made with French dressing. It's mind boggling what passes for Mexican in some areas. But I will give it to this little spot in Estacada Oregon, they do things right! read more

Very disappointed with my last interaction with Sol Tapatio. We've ordered food from here lots of times, pretty decent for the most part. We have had a few orders wrong in the past but we try to brush it off as we want to support the small businesses in town. We ordered soft tacos with chicken.. We've done this several times in before, with beef also. It typically comes on flour tortillas, with lettuce, cheese and tomato. Once I arrived home with our pick up order, I realized they gave us street tacos. That's corn tortillas onion and cilantro. That's not what we ordered. I decided to call and let them know that the order was wrong. The employee decided to tell me that they've NEVER made soft tacos with flour tortillas at their restaurant. Seems really weird because I know I've gotten them before, several times. Pretty frustrating if you ask me. Sounds like we are not the only ones who have had issues with this place on wrong orders or similar interactions with the staff. We will give our business to another restaurant -this was the last straw for us :( read more

We went for a breakfast burrito. My wife is vegetarian so I just asked for a meatless BB and it just comes with cheese, egg, and potato. I asked to add fajita veggies and avocado. I had the lengua burrito plate. This is a new Mexican restaurant in estacada. It is owned by the same person who has a couple of don pedro restaurants. Now for my meal, it was really good, a wet lengua burrito with rice and beans. It had alot of flavor and was presented nicely. And I like that they give you a side of chips and salsa. Updating my review to 3 stars, as much as it hurts me to do! Look, this place actually has good food, but their customer service and ability to get SIMPLE orders correct is really lacking. I guess it's the "fool me once, fool me twice..." you know the story. I should know better by now to check my order before I come home. I'm happy they are here, I love their hours (open late at night and early), but for real - check your order! Also, pro-tip - the chicken salad is the BOMB! Get it with the dressing on the side (and check to make sure it's actually on the side LOL). read more

Now that these folks are open for business, and I have folks around Estacada their opinions, I have to drop my number of stars. Most people are calling the food "ho-hum", nothing special, not to mention we have too many so-called Mexican restaurants in the area. Hopeful when the excitement settles down, things will get better. Estacada does need to keep it's retail space occupied. read more

I think this place is GREAT! I work nearby so I hit them up several times a week. The drive thru component and GIANT menu of awesome choices had me eagerly awaiting their grand opening - I was not disappointed. Their carne asada is my favorite protein they offer, it's tender and flavorful. I'm addicted to their tortas, tacos and ceviche. Horchata is on point and I can't get enough of their avocado sauce. We stopped going to this place because every time we got our order there was a charge on the receipt for $1.50 for open food. We asked what that was for and never got a response. Today we decided to go back and try after 6 months. This time after we left there were 2 lines for "open food" for $2 and $3. I will NEVER go back again. A little education in customer service would go a long way. Ordering a dinner, and asking for sour cream instead of rice, chips, beans, and salad, shouldn't make for an up-charge. My partner's meal was paid for, and then we were told they were out after we sat down. No problem, he opted for something much cheaper and requested no sour cream, which it was slathered in. The place was clean and the people were really nice but the food was sub par. We opted not to eat at the local burrito truck to have a warm place to sit down and we were a lil disappointed. The taquitos were old, reheated, and burnt. The chicken was old and dry. The fajita plate was barely cooked... The food was so yummy. We ordered Chilis Rellenos. It was prepared perfectly. Exceeded my expectations. We also ordered mulitas, one pork and one carne asada, they where very delicious. I came back and went through the drive through. Got mulitas again and a soft taco. The soft taco was not good. Like a street taco using flour instead of corn tortillas. (Please switch to corn and I'd be so happy) I won't hold one small thing against them. The food that was done well, was amazing. I will be frequenting this place often. Good service. Great salsa bar. Open till 11. Nice since the town shuts down at 6-7. There are not many places to get good food in Estacada. It's so nice to have a great Mexican choice:) read more
