Excellent experience at Sabor of Mexico! I was very excited to see that they had a Vegan Menu, great options! The food was delicious; the atmosphere is lovely, and excellent customer service. I had the opportunity to talk with both owners while waiting for my food, a very lovely couple. They were accommodating and shared that all their food is made from scratch and with love! I had the -Pastor Torta -Chicken quesadilla -Passion Fruit drink **Would get this again! COVID Notes -At the time, dining was available. -The order was effortless, quick, & accurate. -Excellent customer service, masks were required, staff wore masks and gloves. -Limited seating capacity. This place is the unicorn of ice cream, fruit cocktails, and especially AGUAS! I had the most amazing agua fresca at my friend's art show a few doors down and when he told me it was at Sabor of Mexico just a block over I had to rush over to buy a bigger cup of it! It was amazing! I still didn't get the name of it! But it was the pink agua with the diced fruit. Best tasting water I've ever had! I'm so glad we found this place while exploring the art walls in downtown Baytown! We walked in thinking we'd grab some ice cream, but ended up eating dinner as the menu was too enticing. I had the pollo torta which I planned on sharing, but then I changed my mind on that after the first bite. I coupled this with a watermelon Fresca which was also delish. My daughter was so happy that they offered vegan alternatives since she can't eat dairy. She actually had a cheese quesadilla and you couldn't tell that it wasn't real cheese! What a nice surprise. We topped dinner off with a strawberry cheesecake popsicle dipped in chocolate and a strawberry fresh popsicle. Everything we ordered was 5 star and the owner was so sweet. We will drive 45 min back to eat there again! read more

Finally a mom and pop food establishment that will make it. It's called Como en Mexico and it is on Texas avenue across from the big fountain. Excellent in every regard. Their ice cream is made in store with fresh fruit and offers authentic Mexican flavors. The staff is friendly and bi-lingual. The restaurant is located on historic Texas avenue directly across from the giant fountain. They have many flavors and serve food items also. 5 stars. read more
