But I noticed her smiling and engaging in friendly conversation with two customers sitting at the bar. I noticed this difference from how she treated us vs these other guest throughout the entire time. With them she was smiling, engaging and not in any flirtatious way, but seemingly just being nice....being a good waiter. Clearly she was choosing NOT to be nice to us, and this bothered me internally because I did not know why. Our friendly greeter from when we arrived was seen serving another table and whose behavior was consistently friendly with everyone. So why the difference with our waiter I kept asking myself. For sides, it came with yellow rice mixed with veggies and sweet plantains (maduro) . I could have scooped up the garlic sauce with a spoon -- absolutely delicious! The shrimp were firm and fresh. The plantains nicely caramelized and sweet. My husband got a beef steak with onions. He said it was a little dry. I happily shared some of my garlic sauce with him. And that helped. I really want to go back and try some of their other dishes -- there were some things displayed that I didn't see on the printed menu. I'll remember this lunch for some time.
