Visited Sabor y Kafe while traveling in LA near Hollywood. We ordered the Sweet Cloud, a Latte, and the Pistachio Cream French Donut. ​The Sweet Cloud was hands down the best coffee of my life! Even my husband, who usually dislikes sweet treats, loved the donut. Before leaving, we got an iced Americano to go, and you could really taste the superior quality compared to other coffee shops. ​Parking is a bit tricky and it was pretty packed since it was the weekend--we had to wait a bit to get a table. Best university/hipster style cafe in LA. Great food, staff, and onsite ownership. Big, open space with tall ceilings, on corner site with large wrap-around windows. Outside tables under umbrellas is great for people-watching. Small tables in back and big tables in front make it great to eat, read, socialize, or get work done on a laptop. Lots of Meetup groups meet here, e.g., the gamer development group. Centrally located in LA. Walking distance to downtown Hollywood, Los Feliz, or Griffith Park. In order to use the restroom, you must purchase something--which is standard practice for all businesses. Sabor x Kafe was a wonderful experience! The staff were incredibly friendly, provided great food, and was a quiet place for working and studying! We ordered a mango pineapple peach smoothie and turkey panini. The mango pineapple peach smoothie was extremely refreshing, perfect for a hot day. It was not too sweet but was very flavorful! The turkey panini had super soft bread with a perfectly crispy outside! It was also super cheesy and not too salty. It was perfect! I LOVE the new space this cafe is in. It's only right across the street -- barely 50 feet from the former location -- but somehow even better. The outdoor seating is now totally shaded by the building in the morning which is a major, major plus. The food here is always great (particularly love the panini w chicken and their tomato soup), the drinks always tasty, and the interior is just as cool looking as it was when they were across the street, and the outdoor shade takes it up an extra notch. I adored the interior design and decor. I can tell their goal was to provide a cozy and home-like environment. I loved the lighting and paintings! As for the food, I expected a larger portion, but I was satisfied with my plate. The eggs were a bit under seasoned, and the toast a bit too toasted, but a very solid plate overall. As for the drinks, my latte was so foamy which I loved. The Mexican hot chocolate (made w/ abuelita coco) was so good, it tasted like home. It was so sweet and warm! What a delightful coffee shop! I was just walking around, feeling a tad hungry after a hike up to Griffith Observatory, looked for coffee on Google and here's where I landed. I had a breakfast bowl and a cold Celsius! Avacado, bacon and scrambled eggs with cheese was perfect. Service was excellent, order was delivered quickly, with a smile. Lovely, cozy coffeeshop. As a former barista, I feel like I have a good weigh-in on coffeeshops. The latte is just a regular latte. The ambiance is what wins this place over. Lovely, calm music in a cozy atmosphere. Perfect for a coffee date, to read or doodle your thoughts and artistic expressions on a journal. The barista, the Asian man, is serious and unwelcoming. He doesn't even acknowledge you (or maybe he's daydreaming?). As someone that picks up on energy easy, it makes me uncomfortable. I drink almost half of my lattes before I exit because it's just that good !! lol I recommend getting any drink from here and the acai bowls are very good too. They are plentiful with lots of options for toppings. They have some new food items on the menu like Korean fried rice and buckwheat noodles , definitely gonna come back to try. What I usually get is an iced vanilla latte with oatmilk, their drinks aren't too milky and you can still taste the coffee flavor with a hint of vanilla syrup. The flavor was meh, the texture was squishy, the bacon was practically tiny flakes of glitter and the potatoes used were a tater tot texture. Overpriced, undersized and underwhelming. I rate only on that. Service was slow but I could care less so long if the burrito is worth it, it wasn't. There's lots of other options here as you can see on the menu so try their other options out to see if you liked something else's, but if you want a good burrito, ehhhhh, look elsewhere. read more

After a great hike, great food and as I was still cold, was looking for a place that had some hot chocolate as well. I came across this location which was only 4 mins away from hiking trail. Parking is a bit of a struggle as it is off Hollywood Blvd and Gramercy Pl. as many know Hollywood Blvd is always busy. Excellent thing it is that the location is right on the corner on the streets mentioned. When you walk in first thing you notice is there walls color :) hand painted art on the walls which by the way are for sale if interested on any piece of work. They also have a book case filled with books, magazines, etc. Food/drinks: My food choices were a breakfast wrap, House-made Korean Bbq sandwich, and Strawberry-banana belgian waffle. I started with the wrap which had hash browns, egg, cheese, avocado and I want to say it was sausage, everything wrapped on a tomato basil sauce tortilla. First time trying something like a wrap on tomato basil sauce, it was delicious and very flavorful, there was no need to add salt. My next item was the House made Korean bbq sandwich which for me it was more of a 4star because the meat was not as tender as I would've liked it, other than that it also had flavor and the bread was not burnt as I have seen in other places. Finally my strawberry banana belgian waffles were the best!!!! Grand finale lol. Waffle was soft, the strawberries and bananas were fresh and it was topped with chocolate syrup and regular syrup as well as a scoop of ice cream..yummy yummy in my tummy for sure lol. I enjoyed all my choices with a Mexican Hot Chocolate which was just perfect because it was not too sweet and complimented well with my food. Im not one to write reviews but I have really come to love Sabor y Cultura. I recently had to sell my condo and move into a rental in Hollywood due to a separation. One of the things I was most sad about was leaving my beloved neighborhood coffee shop, M Street, in Studio City. Thankfully, I quickly found Sabor y Cultura, and it's made this transition so much easier. My staff member brought me here today. I immediately loved it. So artsy. Intriguing and very mysterious. Made me feel like I was in a movie. This spec of decor is simplistic yet quite familiar. My staff member knew the owner whom was very nice. She was also training. Not sure if was her new employee or not. Needless to say she to was lovely. I wanted to get something to eat so bad, but I had already had my fill prior. So decided to just get a latte. I saw that they have lots of milk-type choir. Milk, oat, coconut, almond . So I got a vanilla latte with coconut milk. My staff member got the matcha with oat milk. This definitely brought me back to a certain time. Why does a small iced coffee cost 6 dollars? ( and yes this is small ) Ok so look, I get it, inflation. The go to excuse. But come on guys, coffee? Let's remember that coffee bean prices even at the consumer level are at normal pre covid lows. They're abundant. There's no effort on your part except to brew, it's mostly water going through ground beans. I understand you're renting a business in hollywood, but considering your prices on your board are all freshly updated to higher prices, maybe make the coffee the one thing that keeps people inside and coming back. 6 dollars for a small cup of 90 percent water to strained coffee bean ratio is ridiculous. It's a decent cup don't think I'm saying it's not satisfactory, it is, but we're all struggling, tired, working two jobs to get by. Stopping into your establishment made me feel embarrassed, poor, and not worthy. That egg sandwich sounded good, but considering you're also charging 10 dollars for something the size of an egg McMuffin, again, I'm embarrassed I cannot keep up with the hollywood aesthetics of looking and spending richly. read more

When I used to live at the Gershwin on Hollywood Blvd, my husband and I would come here religiously. They have the cutest cafe that has both outdoor and indoor seating. The cafe itself gives 90's F.R.I.E.N.D.S vibes, seriously. They even have open mic night. I love their chai's! They have by far the best chai in Hollywood, period. It's so flavorful and thick. My only complaint is that there isn't more in a regular sized cup. We've had a belgian waffle breakfast here as well but that it was little too hard for my taste. The service is nice though and my chai always comes out fairly fast. I honestly refuse to have a chai anywhere else. There are parking meters surrounding the cafe but make sure to come first thing in the morning because it may be hard to find one later in the day. read more

I've been coming here for 20+ years. A family owned and operated coffee bar - one of the few that is not owned by some big corporate conglomerate or mega restaurant groups that seem to be taking over LA. They are one of the only coffee bars that serves Mexican Mochas - I mean authentic Mexican Mochas. This divine blend of Mexican spices and chocolate was and is always a treat. I usually like it ice blended but it is available hot or cold unblended as well. It is one of their signature espresso drinks that is unique to Sabor y Cultura. You really can't find this anywhere else. On top of everything else, they have great food, Korean-inspired. Not just your run of the mill sandwich or pastry coffee bar. With the pandemic so many of our mom and pop places have had a difficult time. Sabor y Cultura is no exception. For me personally, I am tired of these big restaurant groups who either buy concepts and create venues all over LA - they have permeated out food culture. Therefore, I have decided inhabit as many of these businesses as I can - especially coffee bars and small restaurants that are owned by singular people. And I encourage everyone to do the same. Otherwise, LA's unique restaurant culture will give way to formulaic overpriced concepts that do not represent the independent and diverse nature of Los Angeles. Sabor y Cultura pre pandemic was a vibrant local Hollywood mainstay that hosted poetry and music nights. During the day, writers and content creators could be seen working on that next great novel, movie or TV show. Artists creating their next concept or design. I always had meetings with writers and business partners there. It was one of two coffee bars I inhabited on a weekly basis in Hollywood (the other being Caffe Etc). The space is large enough with numerous tables and a great artistic environment. However, the pandemic happened and I think we all got used to staying home and also saving money during these unprecedented times. Try the signature Mexican Mocha. You won't regret this special treat. And while you're there, sample the food, too. Lots of unique choices as you'll see on the photos I've attached. We need to support our local shops and restaurants. Sometimes we forget our great neighborhood gems, thinking they will be there forever. I want to encourage my neighbors to come back to Sabor y Cultura - we don't want to wake up one day to discover it's no longer there. A victim of the pandemic. It's too good.
