We came around lunch on a weekday. The space is great. High ceiling so it feels bigger than it is -- and it actually is a pretty big coffee shop. All the tables and benches were occupied. Lots of people working or studying or hanging out. The CORTADO was strong, creamy and not tart. Love it. The ICED LATTE is delicious. The line is not for the faint of heart. I tried their matcha einspanner, breakfast sliders, and pistachio toast and all three were AMAZING. - Matcha Einspanner: One of the best matchas I've ever had! The matcha is so well balanced - you can actually taste the matcha, not too sweet, and creamy too. They also sprinkle sea salt on top which helps enhance the matcha flavor. My only complaint is that I wish the cup was bigger. - Breakfast Sliders: I wasn't expecting much from the sliders, but everyone always hypes up their slides, so I knew I had to give it a try. I was not disappointed! The egg is so fluffy and the sauces that come with it are so delicious, especially their hot sauced. I added bacon and avocado too and it was great. - Pistachio Toast: I feel like their pistachio toast is not talked about enough. It was so yummy and satisfying that I wish I could get another one. The toast is hearty and the pistachio spread with sea salt, olive oil, and olive oil is the perfect balance of sweet and savory. I'm still thinking about their toast. Although it is quite pricey, I think the taste and quality justify the price. The texture felt very one-note...soft, untoasted Hawaiian buns, thick fluffy egg, and even more so with the avocado we added. Flavor-wise, they were plain and unimpressive. The bacon add-on helped by adding some crispy, smoky texture. The sweet-and-sour sauce brought a bit more dimension, while the tangy mayo wasn't particularly memorable. Since Community Goods is on Melrose and close to a lot of LA hotspots, I often find myself stopping by when I'm in the area. Great matcha but the sliders aren't worth it.
