NOT what queso frito .. looks like. Tajadas we're old not even heated to compensate for lack of freshness.

Very clean and beautifully decorated . Service was impeccable and owner was very gracious and checked on us. Quantity of food u get is HUGE....and the menu boasts many nicaraguan dishes as well as salvadoran popusas. For me and my partner the taste was lacking on most of the dishes. GalloPinto : was made with black beans instead of small nica red beans. Not, a lot of flavor and some odd seasoning.... that we could not pin.... beans were overly fried making them crunchy. We piled nicaraguan cabbage slaw on top so that the gallo pinto had flavor. Pork: delicious and moist the star of the dish. Very generous portion. Tajadas: not freshly made and tasted as such. Tasted like they made them early day for the entire day ... chewy not crispy and hot. Queso frito: very think slice of some odd white cheese and fried in heavy oil. Nothing like the nica cheese u get a Fritangas in Nic. It was almost like a strange melted lump with oil on top. This was the first time ever that we left cheese on the plate. We couldn't eat it. Fried fish: delicious with a tomato/onion sauce . Well worth it. coffee and pico: coffee was absolutely terrible .. couldn't drink it .. bitter and extremely thick and just was afraid to drink it. The pico was ok not fabulous but just ok. It was a very disappointing to say the least .. we left a generous tip since service was outstanding and walked out ... $60 check (with tip) for two people .....left everything behind on our plates. Unfortunately, we don't intend to visit this spot ever again. It is disheartening.. because it was a nice little spot.

This place offers real Nicaraguan food. There is parking available and prices are okay $12-$15 per plate. The restaurant is small but cozy. Appetizers aren't that great and they come at the same time as the main plates which makes no sense for an appetizers, next time I will skip the appetizer for sure. Salpicon $13 is an authentic Nicaraguan plate of minced beef which is very good but please be aware, this plate is served cold and can resemble tuna salad but with a beef flavor. It is worth to try. Carne asada $13, id roasted beef and very good as well, very authentic flavor but nothing special about it. Please specify how do you want the meat if not you will get well done.

Worth the drive. The food was fresh and cooked perfectly. I was craving Nica food and happy that I came across this place. The prices are average between $6-13 but the portions are generous. We had the Cuban sandwich too and it was mouth watering delicious. A++ Makes me feel like I'm back home in Miami.

Salpicon with white rice and black beans and maduros.

It was early so the dining room had only two or three occupied tables and no one at the bar in the back yet. I was greeted immediately and waited a short time for my order to be ready. All the way home I could smell delicious odors from the bag! I ordered Churrasco de Entrada which is grilled skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and two sides. The steak was amazing! Tender, juicy, melted in my mouth. I had grilled vegetables and baked potato for sides. The vegetables were a mixture of broccoli, cauliflower, pea pods, carrots, and zucchini. They were cooked well and flavored with garlic. The foil packet of potatoes contained three small round potatoes also perfectly cooked through not seasoned at all. The meal came with three small dinner rolls and a few packets of butter. Everything was flavorful and delicious; garlic was quite strong though which I loved but might not be everyone's liking. I also ordered Alfajores from the bakery section for dessert. These are little sandwiches with soft shortbread cookies on the outside and soft dulce de leche and coconut filling between them. Four came in the box. This meal was at least two servings for me and it was a wonderful experience. I look forward to eating in the restaurant next time.

The location is in a small plaza with hard time to park because of the amount of businesses around. The restaurant is big with a lot of tables and good for big groups but too dark for my taste, the windows are so dark from outside that if it wasn't for the " open" sign you would think it is close. The food is good, I liked the quality of the chorizo and the skirt steak was grilled properly. I wished the fries were "fresh-cut", I understand that frozen fries are easier but a good steak deserves good fries. Another thing that lowers the experience is that the condiments like ketchup and mayonnaise are in packets like a fast food chain. The service was standard, I had to call my server everytime I wanted a refill. ( even thought the restaurant wasn't full).

Ordering is simple; you can order at the counter or use one of the kiosks. Once your food is ready, they bring it directly to your table. I also appreciated the self-serve stations for sauces, water, utensils, and to-go boxes. I'm usually not the biggest fan of Cuban cuisine, but was in the area and decided to give it a try anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. Everything I ordered was better than expected. I went with the Combination Sampler, which is great if you want a little taste of everything. It came with a chicken empanada, papa rellena, fried yuca, ham croquettes, sweet plantains, and tostones. Overall, everything was prepared nicely. The only item I wasn't crazy about was the chicken empanada, which tasted a little plain and dry on its own. However, once paired with the sauces, it was much better. Speaking of sauces, they offer plenty of options at the sauce station. My favorite was the creamy cilantro sauce, which paired well with almost everything. They also had ketchup and mayo; perfect for dipping the crispy yuca fries. Along with a spicy sauce that definitely brought the heat. My go-to Cuban dish is usually a Cuban sandwich, but I didn't get a chance to try theirs this visit. Based on the rest of the meal, though, I'd definitely come back for it next time.

I was greeted with a smile and placed an order for an empanada combo. I tried beef, cheese and chicken empanadas. The beef was my favorite. But the others were delicious and my family loved them.
