Roast beef sandwich with home made potato salad. Beautiful setting next to the river

Had lunch here on a sunny, warm Monday. We ordered two of their daily specials, the roast beef sandwich and a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. The two of us shared these and both were absolutely delicious. The sandwich used fresh roast beef, not the packaged deli type. The soup was scratch made and beautifully presented with slices of avocado and fresh cilantro on the top. We sat on the back patio, right along the river watching the birds and chipmunks. The server was excellent and Sabrina checked in with us. She clearly cares about her customers and their happiness. This place is a gem and I will definitely return next time I am in the area.

Sabrina's food is amazing. I tend to get some kind of root salad or caprese salad bowl, and there's never a hesitation when I want to doctor it up with something like a salmon filet...or in the case of my friend, some tri-tip on top. In fact she's well-known for her tri-tip that is made on her smoker on her back patio. She's got breakfast burritos with eggs, potatoes, cheese and a meat and no-meat option. There are sandwiches, beverages (including beer & wine) and the icing on the cake, literally, a partnership with Autumn's Butter Me Up Bakery (go look that up on Facebook) where you'll find home-baked-in-Downieville sweets that are amazing. Oh, and coffee...all the kinds. Plus some grab and go food items in the refrigerator case. I've been here...I don't know...a hundred times? And I've always found something to eat, even being the pesky pescatarian that I am. Mostly because Sabrina makes sure she gets me fed. She is incredibly kind and just an amazing people person. The best kept secret? The back patio that has tables and is right on the river. It's truly magical. It might just be you and your coffee...or it might be full of people. They also host events there and when it fills up and the band kicks in, it's fantastic. Sabrina's is on one side of the space and Downieville Outfitters are on the other side. So don't be afraid to walk in. Both sets of employees are super friendly and will help you get what you need. Do give yourself a little extra time, though...there may be a bit of a wait for your homemade grub...but it will be worth it, I promise!

Stopped in on a rainy Sunday afternoon and enjoyed some hot coffees. I got a classic cappuccino and my fiancé got the Mexican mocha. Both were delicious especially the Mexican mocha. I usually do not like this coffee and encouraged my fiancé not to get it but he dared to try it as he never had before, and it turned out to be a real treat! It was very delicious. The two girls working were incredibly nice and fun to talk to. We didn't get their names, but one was from France and the other was a high schooler who recently moved to Hawaii but was visiting for the summer. We loved the vibe both inside and out back by the river. We were just passing through but if we're ever in downieville again we will have to stop and have some breakfast outside.

Sacramento Valley Region of the Porsche Club of America stopped at Sabrina's for lunch enroute to Lake Tahoe on our two day tour. Sabrina and her staff had lunch ready for all 51 of us when we arrived. Quick service, the food was great, staff attentive, friendly, affordable, and first class. Weather little nippy so we couldn't sit out on the awesome back patio right on the river but they accommodated us just fine inside. Highly recommend for a stop, group event with advance planning, or catering. We do a lot of tours involving lunches and this was one of the best. We will be back.

Love the charred onion and pepper veggie burrito! If I could eat it every morning, I'd be a happy girl. Came here for my birthday breakfast. Loved the vibe, filled with guys hopping on and off shuttles to head into the hills for a day of riding the awesome trails around Downieville and the Lost Sierras. Super friendly staff. Organic and fair trade coffee that supports women owned co-ops in South America. Lots of breakfast items to choose from. Can't wait to try others!

Covid or not this owner works her tail off to provide a quality meal and affordable prices. Sabrina welcomed us in and made our experience amazing with her warm personality, excellent staff, hot coffee and delicious breakfast. Wishing you continued success. Thanks again! This omelet was amazing with its fresh veggies and tasty bacon.

We asked for a table outside because she can't hear well, and the cafe was bustling and loud. The staff seated us, but had to move tables around outside. The hostess and a "regular" of the cafe said things like "this is what we do in a tourist economy." "We have to accommodate the tourists." As if we were a bother and they were bending over backward to accommodate us. Because my mother in law was there, and she is emotionally raw right now, I avoided conflict. So I'll say now, what I wanted to say to those snarky, rude employees Thursday: My husband's family has had a plot in the Taylorsville cemetery for longer than those two ladies been alive -- combined. His grandmother had 2 restaurants in Greenville. His mother is a fixture in the community, living through the Dixie fire and coming back to rebuild her life. Now she'll bury her husband there. My sister and brother in law worked in public service in Quincy for decades. We aren't tourists. And even if we were, you were incredibly unwelcoming. You made a sad day worse. The food was fine.

The place was quaint in a very small town. On the inside, paintings and other interesting art scattered the walls, a few tables and a restroom with a fun bathtub garden. The display case at the front counter (where are you order food) featured some appetizing grab and go treats and bites such as peaches and cream muffins, various cookies, lemon bars, potato and a curry chicken salad. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful with her recommendations. I had the NSJ Panini which was very tasty, it came with fries and coleslaw. I enjoyed everything. I ordered the lemon bar which was ok, a little tackier (sticky) than what I prefer but the flavor was nice. I was impressed by all of the smoothie and juice selections. They looked, well crafted and inviting. The next time I find myself in the area, I will definitely return for one of the salads and a smoothie!
