Came here with my work team to have a team meeting and enjoy some food. Every-time i drive past this place, I notice how crowded they are. They weren't busy around 4pm. We were able to go straight to a table. We opted to sit out back on the patio. They play music on a speaker and sometimes have a live band playing. The band was setting up before we left. Service was quick and the server was polite. She didn't bother us, but checked on us periodically. There is free street parking, or you can park in one of the two nearby parking lots. I ordered a carne asada taco and chips and Queso. The taco was delicious. The meat was seasoned well and tender. I didn't like that they didn't drain the juice from the meat, as it made my taco fall apart. The queso was delicious and the chips were fresh and crunchy.

Love that they have street food on the menu. I stepped out of my comfort zone and tried a Huarache, which I consider to be like a cross between a Mexican style pizza and an over sized street taco. The homemade tortilla was thick, layered with salsa, cilantro, onion, Quesa fresco, and I added chicken. The mojito is a 10/10, could have probably drank 3. The back patio was pretty nice! Only downside was that I had been craving a Bloody Mary and they told me they couldn't make one? Which is odd since it's essentially a michelada just with vodka instead of beer. Oh well! Mojito was better than a bloody could have been.

Went out to lunch with some friends and to my surprise I finally found a Mexican restaurant that serves AUTHENTIC Mexican food!! The restaurant offers tex-mex as well as a good variety of food from several Mexican cities. I got so excited when I spotted several meals from the Yucatán and it brought back memories of my trip to Mérida and Cancun! I definitely had to order the panucho and Jamaica (hibiscus tea) as a tribute to my first trip to Mexico, and it did not disappoint. Our waitress was great and really professional, through the busyness of the lunch rush our table of 8 still got our food in good time.

Absolutely adorable Mexican restaurant. Clean classy decor that suits both the younger late crowd and older farts like my husband and I. Chips and salsa to start, the chips were to die for. My husband got the Steak a la Mexicana and I got the Chicken burrito and added queso. To say my pants didn't fit by the end was an understatement. Authentic cuisine with friendly staff, happy to call this place a staple in our frequently visited watering holes. Love my city!

Went last night for dinner for the first time and the food and service were great! We ordered the steak fajita, the beef chimichanga and the fries for an appetizer, I believe they were topped with pieces of steak. The salsa was good as well as the beans and rice. I asked our server which was the best chimichanga and he said the beef. I asked him if it was shredded and he said yes. Now I have bad track record with ground beef at Mexican restaurants, so when I cut it open and it was not shredded but ground, I was like hmm... But upon my first bite it was surprisingly well seasoned. Nice portions, descent prices, attentive and friendly service. I will definitely be back.

Sabroso is just so good! Their asada fries, with the perfectly crispy fries on a bed of queso and covered with chunky carne asada bites, jalapenos and pico de gallo, have ruined all other places' loaded fries type offerings for me. Their cochinita pibil, described by them as special slow roasted pork cooked in Yucatan style is unbelievably flavorful and tender - the citrus and achiote spice come through very clearly. The refried beans are made from black beans and have a smoother texture and flavor compared to pinto based refried beans. Their margaritas and pina colada are really well balanced. One small nitpick is their rice was a bit too salty for me. Even with that minor detail, Sabroso is at the pinnacle of Mexican food offerings in St Louis.

Good food BUT the smallest portion for $18 dollars! Not worth it! They also charge extra if you want chips and salsa.

Good food BUT not worth it for the price. The food is in such small portions. I got a veggie chimichanga for $18 dollars. I also didn't get chips and salsa as they charge extra. Not worth it.

This was our third time here. Thought I'd go simple and ordered the Chicken Burrito. It looked simple when the plate arrived, but when I took my first bite, wow, the flavor was amazing! The Chipotle Ranch along with the well seasoned chicken, cheese, and beans really work together. This is definitely going on my go-to list. In the past, I've had the beef Chimichanga, and it too was full of flavor.

Enchiladas with salsa verde with black beans instead of rice

Today I tried the enchiladas verde. I was able to order one each- chicken tinga, cheese and ground beef. The salsa verde was very flavorful and I enjoyed these a lot. I substituted rice for black beans, which was a great choice and more protein. My friend ordered the machete with carne asada and he enjoyed it very much. I've been to Sabrosa many times over the years and was sad to hear the NW plaza location closed. Everything I ever ordered has been very flavorful. The ambiance at the Maplewood location is very nice and service has always been top notch. Don't miss out on the salsa and chips. Yes, they are extra but worth it.

A little disappointed that the chips and salsa was not free, but the food was delicious. The street food section was very nice. The menu has items that normally is not offered in Mexican restaurants. Street parking, but we were able to park near the entrance of the restaurant.

Amazing quesabirria!!!!!! Some of the best I have had. It was perfect. I can't wait to come back. The chips and salsa were also delicious. Perfect crispiness of the chips. The inside had a cute bar area, but we appreciated being able to eat on the patio. Finally, the service was FAST.

I'm disappointed that it took me so long to make my way here. They won me over with the tiny dedicated parking lot. At my big age, difficult parking situations are a turn off and I will go home if I can't get reasonable parking. I was able to snag a space in the lot and headed in. The space is a bit dark with rich sage, brass, and terracotta. There are several hanging plants making it an inviting place. The bar has plenty of comfortable seating and cozy tables if you decide to bring some friends. Caleb was our server during our visit. He was an absolute delight. He made excellent cocktail suggestions. He looked after our group without being overly doting. Just a gem of a human. We tried approximately 9 cocktails during our visit. Did I mention we were at brunch! I highly recommend the peach bite and the Side Car. Every cocktail is thoughtfully made and well executed. They offer a small brunch menu along with the regular menu. I usually always get chilaquiles when they are available. But today the ruby trout and grits sounded perfect. This dish was amazing!! The trout was thin with crispy skin. The grits were creamy and delicious. The dish is topped with a house made radish pico and salsa macha. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich that was paired with the crispiest breakfast potatoes I've ever had. The burger and fries are also a good option. The seasoning on the fries is next level. The brunch menu has a sticky toffee roll that is a perfect size for sharing or not. Salty sweet fork tender cinnamon roll. Lastly, the deviled eggs were a group favorite. I am a big fan of Passenger Chili Crisp. If you are unfamiliar please look them up! It's hands down the best chili crisp I've ever had. It's locally made here in STL and can also be found in several dishes at restaurants around town. The eggs were creamy with the right amount of tang from the mustard. The chili crisp made these deviled eggs easily top five best I've ever had! Planning to stop in again soon for happy hour with more friends

I came for a HH and enjoyed three different cocktails. My first was a Gold Rush. It's basically a Bees Knees with Vodka instead of Gin. It was light and refreshing, making it a great start. The second cocktail was one of my all-time favorites, a Old Fashioned. I can honestly say, it was one of the best, if not the absolute best one I have ever had. I finished the HH with a Espresso Martini. It was a good ending to my HH. They use a Cold Brew instead of true espresso, so it had a milder coffee taste. My nosh while drinking was a, Jalapeño Popper Dip. It was okay, in my opinion, it did not fit the description on the menu. Especially, the type of chips described. My friend ordered, The Small Board and it was fantastic and a good value. Our bartenders were friendly and as I stated earlier, they are masters of their skill. What stopped them from getting a 5 Star review, is simple. They do not offer a Martini on their Happy Hour Menu. I'm a Martini Man and that disappointed me, but it wont keep me away, it just keeps them short of 5 Stars.

She then explained that people have eaten dinners on those tables before and that there's no open tables to move us to. Why, yes. I have also eaten off of a picnic blanket while at the park. I am well aware that people can eat off of different types of surfaces. Anyway, we made do though I was annoyed having to lean forward to take a bite out of my steak. The plate was too large to sit on my lap and I didn't want to eat off of my lap anyway. By the way, the proper table by us was empty the whole time from the time we got there, ordered appetizers, and our main entree, ate everything and sat around for 10 more minutes to finish our drinks. The food was excellent! We started with the crab dip which was true to its name. It had crab meat and topped with some crisp bread crumbs, no fillers. For places who try to pass off crab dips, they should take a page off of High Bar's recipe book. My husband had the chicken sandwich and I had the steak for my entree. As usual, I ordered mine medium rare which came properly prepared. I always get nervous when ordering steak at a non-steakhouse but I trusted my gut and they delivered. My husband really enjoyed his chicken sandwich. It had 2 fried chickens stacked atop one another. He took one off and took it home for later. We both had some cocktails. The people delivering our food and drinks were nicer. We wanted to take our leftovers home and told our waitress this. She dropped off some containers and the check. We left shortly after. I was honestly hoping for a much better experience. At least the food was still really good!
