The Fresh Asian Ramen salad dish was tender organic mixed greens, lightly-sautéed fresh seasonal carrots peas-in-tender-pods and thin brightly-flavored radish slices, tender light ramen noodles, and our chosen plum-glazed sesame-fried mild tofu (instead of chicken), with added sweet tender pan-fried Idaho rainbow trout filet, all under a light sesame-soy vinaigrette. Quite marvelous. The Kale Caesar, (Their Hail-Caesar joke?) was surprisingly good! By rolling the kale and cross-cutting it into thin strips, chiffonade-style, it was tender to the bite! I actually though it was baby kale! It was dressed with a sprinkling of shaved hard white cheeses, housemade sourdough croutons, and a light splashes of creamy caesar. They would add anchovies if you want. Tender juicy thick Monarch-Elk Burger is just a tiny bit game-y, adding a light tough of sweet extra flavor. We savored the creaminess of their home-brewed sweet draft craft root beer. And of course we dove into their craft beer list. It was fun to taste the brightly colorful smooth somewhat-sweet Huckleberry Cream Ale from Portland's Hopworks Brewery. Lical huckleberries are hard-to-cultivate more-tart blueberry-relatives, which did become a recurring treat in one form or another on this trip. We shared two self-chosen craft-beer flights. Our favorite was the Bayern Brewing kölsch, a light golden color with soft yeasty malty flavors and just a touch of spiciness. And we loved a selection of their many IPAs.
