    Bar Pretzel & Queso
    Amber G.

So can we just pretend that it didn't take almost three years of living in Belgrade to realize The Manhattan Saloon was just a short 10 minutes away? I mean seriously...why have I been wasting my time driving all the way to Bozeman? We loved it here! The entire staff is so incredible and friendly. Nothing like a little small town hospitality and good eatin'. We started off with the bar pretzel. My husband was a huge fan. It's not a traditional, doughy pretzel. It kind of reminded us of a light, fried donut. One that you would get at the carnival - a little sweet, a little savory. The queso that came with it wasn't my personal favorite but it was okay nonetheless. What's better than a grilled ribeye? One that's smothered in mushrooms and onions, of course. Our steaks were tasty, no additional seasoning needed and worth the price. The veggies were okay. I try to avoid bell peppers. I opted in for a baked potato and my husband ordered the fries. Both were great. Our meals also came with a slice of Texas toast but it wasn't quite toasted enough for me. I also ordered a lemon drop martini and let's just say the bartender wasn't shy on the pour. Not sure what they use as their well-vodka but it came with a burn. A few small notes to consider but overall, we had a great time and will certainly be back.

Tiger Burger with fries and cowboy sauce

Saloon is a cute low-key place, as you enter you have the bar to the right and the dining to the left. I sat on the dining side. Service was quick, then after I ordered my food more people started arriving and it got a little busy. The Tiger burger was delicious, juicy (medium) the bacon, the bread was soft. It wasn't spicy, next time I will ask if I can get my jalapenos roasted to hopefully make them spicy. The wings were crispy and good overall, the "hot" was a regular buffalo sauce, which was still tasty and the bbq well just bbq. The wings needed to be more saucy, definitely on the drier side. Overall for a small town, the quality of food and service was great. I will stop in again during my visit and try something new.

So, I was a Facebook follower of this establishment, and posted a remark to one of their posts and was blocked/banned from the group with my post taken down. What cowards! They need to step up their game in the kitchen and have the fortitude to withstand a bit of criticism. They posted an $18 brisket plate with three strips of dry meat....which I said looks like jerky. After living in Texas for 40 years, I know what brisket is "supposed" to be! I will not be wasting my time or money on this place, and I agree with other posters, that it formerly was a local icon as Sir Scott's Oasis. Now a desert.

Great local bar and food. Our favorites are the French dip sandwich and the steak. It's always fun to sit at the bar.

Not that good. The bar stools are wayyyy too short! The food was unimpressive...like poor quality bar food. The service was great .

Food: I ordered the cattleman's burger which came with bacon, cheese, bbq sauce and fries...I added the lettuce & onion.; it was phenomenal ! It was cooked perfectly and the fries were crispy, yet not over cooked. And the bacon was PERFECT! If you're not into a messy burger, leave the sauce off. Service: we were seated very quickly (perhaps 5:15/5:30 on a Friday night) , and the waitress came over to take our drink orders within two minutes; she returned with the drinks and took the food order within five minutes. The food was brought out by another person within fifteen-twenty minutes. The waitress returned to check on us after several bites, and again when my glass was nearing empty and brought me a refill shortly. However, she never asked the second person about a refill and we had been finished eating for at least fifteen minutes when she returned the next time and asked us about dessert & the check. I find this disappointing anytime it happens, especially when they are not that busy. Ambience: the place looks like its name, an old time saloon, yet modernized. It wasn't noisy, and the tables were far enough apart we could not hear the next tables conversation.

Bartenders were nice when they were around, it was busy at first around 7. But wasn't busy 30 mins later yet still barely saw them. Food was just bad. Patty melt was dry and the meat was cooked from all varieties of rare to well done. Fries were fine. Caesar salad was actually pretty good. Beer prices were great. No real vibe but the place is local so that's a perk. Overall, idk if the service gets better or if the food does either.

Chef's kiss! Our daughter got the Magic Carpet Ride, which was a pretty good deal for $10 for a small burger and fries. We shared the "GNAR-BE-QUE" ($19 with no sides) and also got some loaded fries and carrot fries. Yes, we were being total fatties after a day of skiing, don't judge! Of course it ended up being way too much food. The burger is pretty good, but the carrot fries were undercooked and the cheese fries were essentially just smothered and became way too soggy. Everything was also super salty. One of us appreciated the spicy margarita and they do have a bunch of beers on draft. This actually would have been a mostly positive review but then we allowed our daughter to get one of those ridiculous milkshakes ($19) and it was downright disgusting. Re. the strawberry milkshake, which was called "Unicorn Toot" (BARF), the actual milkshake portion--aka the heart of the matter--was entirely liquid. Zero element of ice cream or texture and there was so much crap all over it that it was beyond over the top. Cotton candy in a cone plopped on top??! Just WHAT. It's like they came up with the idea with AI it was so dumb. Listen, we had a good time hanging out with a friend there that we randomly met up with at Big Sky, but it seems like there are way better places to eat. We'd skip this place.
