On a roadtrip with my girlfriend and this was one of the spots we chose on the way to Bozeman. We loved the area, the location, the parking made it feel super Montana and it's reminiscent of the area I'm from. We sat outside cause it's summer and it was a perfect temperate in the early evening. There are games outside that we enjoyed playing (connect 4 and frisbee golf). I taught my gf to throw the frisbee The server was extremely nice and welcomed us. We asked her questions about the town and even how the police react to speeding The burger I got with jalapeños was delicious!! Cooked medium rare and it was perfect. The fries were delicious My girlfriends wedge salad was extremely salty. I tried it and had to spit it out. She's didn't want to make a big deal out of it even though she was still hungry. We hadn't told the server b/c I didn't know at first, I mentioned it to her later and she said we'd get a comp or something but only took $2 off. Great local bar and food. Our favorites are the French dip sandwich and the steak. It's always fun to sit at the bar.

The rib-eye was seasoned well and cooked as ordered. It was a little light on the optional mushrooms, and I wish I'd saved myself the upcharge. The baked potato came with a generous portion of real bacon (not bacon bits), but the seasoned waxy cheese sauce (more appropriate for nachos) was a little odd. I was overall happy with the potato until I saw the upcharge for ordering it with "everything". This upcharge was not disclosed by the server or on the menu. Service was friendly, but the delay to get my check was excessive. I must have waited at least 15-minutes before giving up and going to the cashier to have them look up my bill. read more

I mean seriously...why have I been wasting my time driving all the way to Bozeman? We loved it here! The entire staff is so incredible and friendly. Nothing like a little small town hospitality and good eatin'. We started off with the bar pretzel. My husband was a huge fan. It's not a traditional, doughy pretzel. It kind of reminded us of a light, fried donut. One that you would get at the carnival - a little sweet, a little savory. The queso that came with it wasn't my personal favorite but it was okay nonetheless. What's better than a grilled ribeye? One that's smothered in mushrooms and onions, of course. Our steaks were tasty, no additional seasoning needed and worth the price. The veggies were okay. I try to avoid bell peppers. I opted in for a baked potato and my husband ordered the fries. Both were great. Our meals also came with a slice of Texas toast but it wasn't quite toasted enough for me. I also ordered a lemon drop martini and let's just say the bartender wasn't shy on the pour. Not sure what they use as their well-vodka but it came with a burn. A few small notes to consider but overall, we had a great time and will certainly be back. read more

The French dip was great, but the real highlight was my tag-team servers, Ryen and Taylor. They were friendly, attentive, and made the experience enjoyable. One thing that did make me a little uncomfortable was noticing a camera mounted under the TV that appeared to record both video and audio. Saloon is a cute low-key place, as you enter you have the bar to the right and the dining to the left. I sat on the dining side. Service was quick, then after I ordered my food more people started arriving and it got a little busy. The Tiger burger was delicious, juicy (medium) the bacon, the bread was soft. It wasn't spicy, next time I will ask if I can get my jalapenos roasted to hopefully make them spicy. The wings were crispy and good overall, the "hot" was a regular buffalo sauce, which was still tasty and the bbq well just bbq. The wings needed to be more saucy, definitely on the drier side. Overall for a small town, the quality of food and service was great. I will stop in again during my visit and try something new. read more

They need to step up their game in the kitchen and have the fortitude to withstand a bit of criticism. They posted an $18 brisket plate with three strips of dry meat....which I said looks like jerky. After living in Texas for 40 years, I know what brisket is "supposed" to be! 4 of us went for dinner on Friday night and it was very busy. Seated immediately. Service was outstanding and the food was excellent. Another business (Oasis) occupied the space for many years. When they closed their doors we were sad to see another great restaurant close. Last week we drove to Manhattan for a drive, taking Amsterdam Road off Jackrabbit. We had no plans for lunch. We drove into Manhattan and decided to turn left, out of habit. We saw a new Red Sign "Manhattan Saloon." I googled it from the car to see if they might have lunch. Sure enough they had a lunch and dinner menu online. We wondered if the food would be good... Well, the food and beer (local-can't remember the brand) was FANTASTIC! Our server "Casee" or "Kacee" was spot on! We asked for our burgers to have no pink inside but not be burned. The burgers were PERFECT! They were not overcooked, very juicy and super delicious. Mine had cheese with grilled onions and mushrooms (lettuce and tomato). I chose onion rings and they were fabulous! I mean fabulous!!! I asked if they had a prime rib night. Sure enough, on FRIDAYS. Whether you're a local or visitor, the 20 minutes to drive to Manhattan (Take Amsterdam Road if you want to see beautiful farm country - Or the old highway from Belgrade (frontage road). Turn it into a "Drive." We just found our newest "GO TO" in this place. We have grandchildren and they have a nice menu for children. FYI: The BEEF IS LOCAL and incredible! I too loved the Oasis, but...This restaurant is not the Oasis, it's not fair to review them trying to compare, they are totally different, except for having the same building. We've been there multiple times and have always had great burgers, shrimp baskets, onion rings, etc. Our service has been friendly & awesome every time. Yes, I miss Scott's Oasis too. But I've been to the Saloon three times for lunch recently and have enjoyed it every time. I think the burgers are excellent, as are the onion rings and fries. The chicken corn chowder gets a big thumbs and the beer selection is good. The staff has always been polite and attentive. I'll definitely continue to support this business. read more
