A wonderful spot for a family meal! Our group of 6 adults and 4 kids were seated comfortably out in the patio close to the kids play area. We loved the complimentary focaccia bread, which was warm, soft, and so tasty that we kept asking for more. The appetizers (mozarella sticks, garlic fries and calamari/zucchini chips) were hot and cripsy and perfect for sharing family-style. The pastas and pizzas were delicious--fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The kids playscape was a huge bonus, keeping the little ones entertained while we relaxed and enjoyed our food. The only drawback was the service. We didn't know that they restaurant is completely self-service. You have to get up from your table multiple times to place orders at the counter for appetizers, drinks and entrees. It put a little dampener on the overall dining experience. read more

I must be honest. I am torn writing this review, because I'm grateful that we're able to get a table whenever we go, and I don't want to let the cat out of the bag. But, I want them to be successful. So, highlights: - Outdoor fenced in playground! That speaks for itself. - Literally the most kid friendly restrooms I've ever seen. We're talking fully stocked changing table in the bathroom with multiple sized diapers, wipes, you name it. And, stools for washing hands. - Free bread and oil, and homemade lemonade. - Delish pizza and Cesar salad. I've got two littles so obviously we flock to the places that are family friendly, and mandolas is truly one of the best. Their pasta isn't 10/10, but it's good. Service is great. What can I say about Mandola's Italian Restaurant that hasn't already been said? Every visit reminds me why it's one of my absolute favorites. First, there's no long wait to order, which is always a plus. Then comes the bread..... Warm, fresh, and so incredibly soft it practically melts in your mouth. Just as you finish savoring it, your meal arrives hot, fresh, and packed with flavor. Honestly, it doesn't matter what you order because everything on the menu is consistently delicious. That said, I have to give a special shoutout to my go-to favorite: the Chicken Parmesan with Alfredo. There simply aren't enough words to describe how amazing it is. My husband ordered his favorite, the lasagna, which never disappoints. And if you're ordering lasagna without adding a meatball, are you even doing it right? And last but certainly not least.... Mandola's is located right next to an apartment complex and Ranch at Brushy Creek community. Its quite popular for the neighborhood folks. This was our first time on a Saturday and the place was busy. They dont let you order till they have given you a table on a sticky. Which is quite different and honestly our first time doing so. The food was quite good. The Calamari was out quickly however the entrees took a while. We were on a clock so felt it took 20 minutes to get the food on table. No one comes to check on you the entire time you are there. Water, silverware and even to go boxes are for you to grab and fill. Its a very huge space with a play area for kids. Its popular for that reason too. The patio with the playarea is quite popular with families with young kids. Dog friendly too. Their ice creams and cheesecake are on point. This is our first time at this location but our second time eating at Mandola's. This location was a little confusing because it said order here before seating. We stood at the counter and watched several staff walk by us until someone finally approached us and showed us where to order. We were at the take out counter. Hubby got the Saturday special, braised rib and mashed potatoes, and I got Alfredo with grilled chicken. We had to ask for bread, but that was fine because it is so good! Hubby said his rib was ok, not the best but edible. My Alfredo was cold but edible. I brought most of it home to warm up. Came Saturday evening as a day the chaos mothers days dinner. There's an open lot, a shaded patio connected to the kids jungle gym and some open turf area for kiddos to run around. Overall, this restaurant is a causal, family forward Italian option that offers some good food options. We got a chicken parm and another chicken dish, the name escape me but it has goat cheese in it. Both chicken dishes to themselves were good, the pasta with marinara or Alfredo didn't change my life but worked fine as a side. The bread and dip is yummy offering once you sit, my mother in particular was raving about it. I would come again as a casual dining option but looking for some dishes that really WOW me and haven't had those at either location yet. read more

We decided to go out to eat last night & my wife really enjoys your restaurant. When we got there it was packed. The bartender suggested we sit at the bar & he would be happy to take care of us. I had a solid dining experience when I dropped by one night for dinner. They have a massive dining area that also includes outside tables. It seemed very family friendly with the laid-back atmosphere. They also have several large tables for bigger parties. I had spaghetti and meatballs and the other person in my group had cheese ravioli along with a caesar salad. The portions were reasonable, and the flavor definitely there. More places ought to be like Mandola's. Friends and I visited Mandola'a on a Friday around 6pm and there was already a huge line that was moving slowly but surely. For context, at Mandola's you line up to order and once you reach the front of the line you can order and will be seated. I thought this was a great use of time management because people can figure out their order in line without taking up time at a table. The staff use that extra incredibly well because almost right after you are seated you are served! The wait time after ordering is incredibly short, so be patient if you see the place packed, your food won't actually take long! Since I wanted to try their vegan option, the staff were so kind to give a couple of options. The salads can be modified to be vegan and the spaghetti is also vegan. Unfortunately their complementary bread isn't vegan so make sure to ask for ciabatta bread if you want a vegan option ($2 sur-charge). I ended up getting a half minestrone soup and half a Spaghettini Ortolano. I would rate the minestrone a 4/5 and the spaghettini a 4.6/5. The pasta was nicely al dente and the vegetables had so much bright flavor. Portions are much smaller than other italian restaurants I have been to but the prices are also much more affordable here. The restaurant itself is beautiful and lively with a great ambiance. Overall, I would definitely visit Mandola's again but would definitely request the team to add more vegan options! read more

I am a huge fan of the Triangle location for no frills, simple Italian food, but the parking situation there is not ideal especially on weekends. I decided to give the Cedar Park location a try and now they have a customer for life. Everyone is so nice! Great food and dessert as always! The main dishes were so flavorful and the service was on point. I usually go to the triangle location and didn't realize this location had staff dedicated to helping you find a table while you wait in line to order. It made all the difference for me since I had a party of 6 to worry about seating. Matt I believe was the manager we met. Our dining experience here was pleasant. This is a good middle-of-the-road Italian fare restaurant. The focaccia bread and oil were a nice change from other restaurants. The spaghetti marinara was cooked well and had a good flavor. It was also a healthy serving size. That said, the grilled chicken was seasoned inconsistently; one of us had bland chicken, the other had well-seasoned chicken. All this said, we weren't blown away. We love coming to Mandola's for Friday night family dinner dates. I read a few reviews, and I think some people aren't understanding the difference between full service and fast casual/counter. We are always impressed by the consistency of a great meal, excellent service, and a big space for kids to roam free. We come pretty frequently, and we are always greeted when we arrive, and all staff interactions are top notch. Brandon, I think the floor manager, is a gem. My favorite here is the Italian Chop Salad, IYKYK - this salad is so good, and love a nice slice of Italian Wedding Cake. read more

Mandolas never disappoints! I have tried the pizza, ice cream, lasagna, alfredo and their caprese salad. The caprese salad is always a good refreshing meal. The cheese and tomato taste very fresh. Pizza was 10/10 and so was the pasta and lasagne. I wasn't too big on the Alfredo only because the chicken was a little dry and the pasta was a tad bit undercooked but the sauce was delicious! Tiramisu here is also great. Last but not least their fococcia bread is so soft and fluffy. It always tastes very fresh and is usually the main reason I got back. I've also tried the garlic fries, pretty nice and the sauce that comes with them is good as well. Service is always super fast! And even when it's packed we can get in and out pretty quickly. The whole place is very clean and I love the decorations they have up. Overall great restaurant that I would recommend and visit over and over again! read more

We got in town yesterday and we were very hungry, we looked at a couple different places but this place stuck out. Raised in an Italian house hold, I couldn't resist trying out a good Italian restaurant! Everything was freshly made, the inside was clean and neat, the outside had a nice big playground for the kids to enjoy and a gate around it. There was nice big dinning area, the bar, outside seating, also a separate smaller dining area if you wanted more quiet or privacy. The desert "bar" was near the front door and they had an open kitchen layout where you can watch them make your food. I love that everything is open seating and you order before you sit. Once we ordered we sat down and they brought us some fresh bread with an olive oil dish that was delicious! I got the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken but the person helping us recommend doing this sauce that was a mix of the Alfredo and spaghetti sauce, it kind of tasted like a non spicy vodka sauce. The grilled chicken tasted like it was marinated in a aioli sauce or Italian dressing, it was perfectly cooked and every bite tasted like heaven. My fiancé got the gnocchi meal, he said that it was a smoked portion but it was very filling and he loved the meat sauce that was on it. Once we got done we got blessed with free cookies to try out that one of the managers brought over, everyone working in the restaurant was kind and welcoming! My neighbors invited me to join their Valentine's tradition at Mando's and overall it was a really good experience. They have five kids and this place is very family friendly. There's a playground outside, which is huge when you're dining with a crowd of little ones. Inside was spacious enough for the seven of us plus my daughter's wheelchair, and we didn't feel cramped at all. That alone earns major points from me. It's counter service. You order, they give you a table number, find you a table, and then bring the food out. Easy and smooth. The food itself was fine. Nothing bad, just nothing that really stood out. I'd give the main food about three stars. Now the gelato is a completely different story. I had stracciatella there and brought home pistachio and almond. I have traveled Europe extensively and have been to Italy multiple times, and I am not exaggerating when I say this is the best pistachio gelato I've ever had. Five stars all day long. The stracciatella was delicious too. I also brought home a slice of Italian cream cake. It tasted like it may not be baked on site. It was a little dry, not bad, just not super fresh. I'd give the bakery four stars. They also have a pretty solid beer and wine selection. Came here to celebrate a birthday in a Friday night . We had never been here before, it had good reviews and we were eager to try it out. Although the restaurant was busy, it is very spacious and there were plenty of tables to sit at inside and out . The noise level was high as there were numerous children running around. The ordering system is very quick, walk up to the counter, tell the cashier , who doesn't know a thing about the menu, what you want, get your drinks and order number and have a seat. We ordered two appetizers, the fried calamari/zucchini, and the bruschetta. Our entree's were the lasagna with sausage, pasta Alfredo with shrimp, and the Carnivore pizza. One of the numerous servers brought us some very good focaccia bread to our table. So we assumed that we would be brought out the appetizers before our entrees which happens at every restaurant we've been too. Nope, it was all brought out together. Actually our entrees arrived at our table a few minutes before the appetizers. Talk about a crowded table.. So we started in on our appetizers so our entrees could get cold... the calamari/zucchini were just ok, the marinara sauce on the side was excellent. The bruschetta was very tasty. My pizza was a thin crust pie which I usually enjoy. But the crust was a bit soggy, maybe from the time waited to eat it or that it had meat on it which has a lot of moisture. The pizza was enjoyable, especially the sliced meatballs on top which were outstanding! The Alfredo was ok, with about 5 prawns on top. The lasagna was enjoyed. All in all, it was decent food. The ordering system is great as is the speed in getting your food. It is a very family friendly place . This is real authentic Italian. The salad dressing on the misto salad was delicious. The red sauce is simple and not sweet thank you!! The eggplant parm was the best I've ever had. Nice and garlicky. Pasta cooked perfectly. Meatballs and bolognese sauce was just like what I had in Italy. The lack of the 5th star was the massive amount of flies outside and a strange old garbage stench from nearby. Your server finds you with your number flag, bringing your amazing meals. Daily specials are available, so do take advantage of the price value. I've enjoyed everything I've had here. Mandola's on Guadalupe was a mainstay years ago, but after moving NW to Leander, we never got back to the Guadalupe location ... we tried the Cedar Park location this weekend prior to an event at the HEB Center (12 minute ride). Some things never change... and that is a compliment! The Cedar Park location is everything the Guadalupe location is and more... great outside area for families, lots of running around, jumping and climbing things for the kids to do. We had the grandkids along today, so more ordering than the usual "plus 1." LOL The boring, carb counting adults had the large misto salad with chicken, and the kids had the margarita pizza and spaghetti and meatballs. We tasted them all, so the street cred is there to do this review! Everything was awesome! The misto salads were fresh, crisp, and cold... everything in the salad was chilled, and the light vinaigrette was tasty and healthy. The chicken that adorned the salads was plentiful, grilled perfectly, soft and moist! The pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs were equally good. The pizza dough was thin, crisp, with that bit a chewiness that comes with Neapolitan-style pizza done right. The meatballs were big, juicy but firm, quality meat, and the marinara sauce was on point. The pasta was an absolutely divine al dente. Mandola's is exactly what it is meant to be... not gourmet Italian food. Great food, laid back, family friendly environment, good for lunch or dinner (or happy hour!). Ordered chicken parm with a Caesar salad. I asked for a Greek salad but they didn't have that kind. I would think a Greek salad would be offered at most Italian restaurants. I also ordered a frozen sangria. It was yummy but so small for what you pay for ($12). Food came out just warm which is a big no for me. I like my food HOT in temperature.. It was a rough day, considering my brother who is in ICU was taking a step back. We were all somber and close to tears. But the manager big Baldy jolly nice guy - I wish I remembered his name. Brandon maybe. He greeted us and was so friendly and so kind. He offered free gelato for first time visiting; he came by our table at the end of dinner and made sure we got our gelato! However, it's worth noting that the culinary experience leans more towards an Americanized version of Italian cuisine. Being that I resided in Sicily for many years, this is not cuisine that can be found along the Mediterranean nor on mainland Italy (Roma, Naples, etc.). Please keep this in mind with this upcoming review. Bruschetta alla Checca Checca sauce is a no-cook Italian sauce that is served over pasta. This simple sauce has tomatoes, olive oil, fresh basil, garlic, and herbs, and it is so easy to make. The best thing about checca is that it takes advantage of fresh in-season tomatoes and herbs, marries them with delicious Italian olives, and can also be served over pasta. The checca served here is in the traditional manner and has a great sweet and spicy flavor. Caprese Panini The Caprese salad is an homage to the quality ingredients produced and grown in the Campania region of Italy. A visit to Naples, the breathtakingly beautiful towns along the Amalfi Coast, or the idyllic island of Capri (from which this panini gets its name) wouldn't be complete without enjoying this famous salad. This panini is essentially the caprese salad inside of focaccia. The cheese used for this panini (mozzarella) seemed to be fior di latte, which is okay but not the preferred cheese to use with this as mozzarella di bufala is smoother and fresher. With these basic items, I was expecting a bit better, showing as the ingredients to make such dishes aren't overly complex. The food and experience here were very average, and it is not on par with traditional Italian cuisine resturants. If someone desires to frequent the TEXAS-based restaurant, it should be noted that this is not authentic Italian food but an Americanized version of Italian food. read more
