Went here for the first time to get some aluminum plate for a garage project. The first guy I walked up to stopped what he was doing and started answering my questions. First he showed me some full-size uncut plates, then some "scrap" plates. I was expecting to have to buy a whole plate and cut myself, but he cut the plate down to the dimensions of several small pieces I needed, and only charged me for the weight of the pieces. I got exactly what I wanted and their machines can cut much better more accurately than my hand tools. I'd definitely recommend this place if you're working on a fab project and need some non-ferrous metals. read more

So I did my research and decided to give recycling a try the next morning at 10am on December 1st I started stripping the wires mostly 12 and 14 gage at around 3pm I started my way to sackin metals because closing time was approchinge...I was told to put my scrap metal on the cart and well I hesitated because there was still some other persons scrap on the cart the man said to just put it there so I did ... I did not see the display since it was my first time when I finally saw the display it read 9lb. I was shocked I swear riding my bike for about one mile it felt like More..I've carried 14lb of cans walking and that didn't get me tired as bad as the copper wire.. so I asked the Man to please weight it again. The man again very rude Said I know what I'm doing...I told him sorry but I didn't see you reset the scale the Man said ok I'll weigh it again but I don't want it seeing as it was close to closing time I had no choice but to apologize and said it's ok I'll take your word....so I ended up getting 23 dollars for 9lb a 5 gallon bucket full... The customer before me is a friend of mine and today December 2nd I talked to him and asked how much did your scrap metal weight he told me 9lb... What a coincidence... I find it very odd that we both had 9lb on the dot. I still have the recipe. Please see that I get what I should so that I can try this recycling thing another try..I know this man is dishonest and is stealing why was it so hard to just weight it again for me... That's what I call bad business... Very rude and disrespectful... If you need a honest employee I'm your man... Let's see if you can do something about this matter... The time before last,I Loaded all my wire on the scale and I Got low balled on price wire, Efrain De La Rosa said it was because China wasn't buying it. Was the reason why it was so low.I should have pulled it all back to my truck and reloaded it but I was too tired from working all day This last time I was amazed by the thievery ,FYI the carts they have say a certain weight but is false. And the guy adjust the scales to benefit themselves. They weighed my copper pipe And it was a lot less weight than it should have been , I come to find out the cart was heavier then what they said it was . Then they said they 0 out the scales and took my copper off the the scale giving a negative reading. But never gave me the weight of my loose copper. I've been in a few times and always received excellent and speedy service. Some of the copper I had wasn't separated(solder joints not cut off) and the weigher let them slide. Everyone seems cool at least to me. read more

I was looking for some 1/4" STEEL plate for a welding table top and one of the workers asked what I wanted and I said 1/4" x 24"x12" of sheet steel and he cut me Aluminum ! I didn't notice until I went home, I called them back the next day and they said I could return it with the receipt. Then I get there and it's the same guy saying this is BULLSHIT you asked for aluminum and I've been cutting aluminum for 20 years... congratulations I don't care I never said ALUMINUM if you guys don't have sheet steel why didn't you say that in the beginning. The people are unprofessional and rude, Don't waste your time or money here !!! read more

I've been in to Sackin Metals a few times over this year. All said, its not a bad outfit. The business does not have good curb appeal. You have to just walk into the back and ask someone for help in finding what you want. Its an industrial yard and shop area but its well organized inside. If you know upfront what you are looking for in materials, they'll point the way and help you load your material stock. Prices aren't bad. I come back because the guys running the shop are friendly and helpful. I wish Sackin Metals was open later in the evening hours as I cant always get there over lunch. For a hobbyist, its a good place to go for raw material stock. read more
