Thrilled with our stay here! I had searched and searched for fair price cabins for the three of us. I searched using Yelp and saw good reviews. Funny thing is, I drove almost 200 miles to end up staying at the same time as two families I know from home! The cabins are Hobbit style in wheels. New and clean, solar powered and fairly private. You have a fire circle and picnic table with a water spicket about 10 feet away. The playgrounds are just beyond the cabins and in very nice shape. The bathrooms, showers, and laundry are just next to the play ground. I'd say fairly clean for a campground and they do get cleaned. There are a few activities available and I really like how you can rent any amount of days without restrictions like some places have. Perhaps there are better places- I haven't been to a ton. But I would not hesitate to return or recommend to a friend.

We love this campground and have zero complaints. Literally none! I was sure to read rules and fine print before booking and arriving. I appreciate that the campground has rules and enforces them, none of these rules seemed ridiculous and honestly they felt more like expectations which made the environment most comfortable for guest. We will absolutely return! From looking at the map before arriving I felt like we would be a little close to neighbors but absolutely not the case, spacious and comfortable. The store has everything you could need that you forgot or didn't think of. They deliver your firewood, super convenient. Let's talk about the staff, AMAZING, helpful, personable and never did we feel like we were bothering anyone. We really enjoyed our time here, can't wait to come back! Don't forget to set yourself up for great floating! It appears the campground has so much more to offer that we didn't explore.

Very enjoyable! Clean, lots of activities! Only four stars because it, I wish their were more trash barrels around. We ended up each night putting our trash bags on the mirror of our car and driving it to the entrance to dump. Also a Wash bin would have been great. In all fairness I think this camp ground is more geared towards Campers verses tents but you should consider that you do have both! we enjoyed our stay and our neighbors, and being right on the river bed was very nice!

This has to be one of the best campgrounds in New Hampshire. We just got back from a week long trip at SRCA and it didn't feel long enough. The campground itself was EXTREMELY clean and accommodating. There is so much to do for both kids and adults. The first night there, we were pleasantly surprised with ice cream sundaes and a ride in the giant shopping carriage! The staff was friendly and extremely helpful! We put down our deposit for next year on our way out, it's officially our new family tradition! We also made a lot of friends in the river! Our site was on the water. We tied up our giant tube and watched people float down :)

It is very easy to get to and is right off the Kancamagus Highway. Full disclaimer: our stay was late June, right before Memorial Day so it we had the place to ourselves. We chose campsite #10, it had plenty of space for our vehicle and made it very easy for load in/out. I believe it was $22/night (bring cash or check for the honor system envelope drop by the entrance of the campground). The campsite is close to the river but not close enough to hear it. However, there was a little trail from our campsite to the water and it took only a minute to get there. If you want a campsite really close to the Swift River, you'll need to get a campsite #21-24. Our campsite had a picnic table and a large fire ring with a grill grate that will lower over the fire. There were even some large tree stumps left there for seating. We didn't have anyone camping around us, but I'd imagine each campsite has a good amount of privacy and space during peak season. Id recommend buying firewood before you arrive at Passaconoway. The year-round campground host sells firewood (which is very convenient) but you can get double your money's worth if you buy them from little wood stands on the side of the road. If you're passing through Lincoln (via 93 exit on Kancamagus) you will see some self serve wood piles by some gas stations.

Passaconnaway is a great (relatively) primitive campground right off the Kanc. It's got drinking…read morewater and outhouses, but no showers, sinks, or RV hookups. It has a couple of nicely secluded spots and tends to stay pretty quiet (in part because of the lack of amenities). There's a series of trailheads from the lot just across the street that acess some beautiful hikes, and since it's close to the center of the Kanc you're pretty close to whatever else you want to go see in that neck of the woods. Bring cash because it's an "iron ranger" system (currently $20 per night for one car) and the firewood there is $6 a bundle.

This year I was convinced to join another couple families for their yearly trip to On the Saco Campground and I'm glad I did. It's not a huge place, but it's very well kept and VERY clean. No smelly outhouses or grimy bathrooms, both were maybe a little rustic but in good working order and again, very clean. My site was tree lined giving plenty of privacy, nicely mowed and had a fire ring. I don't know if they employ some kind of mosquito management but for a wooded site about 80ft from water, I didn't get one bite over my 3 night stay. There's a little store with pretty much any essential you may have forgotten for sale, small game room, washer/dryer, and dishwashing area. You can rent tubes and canoes, (I did both) and the staff is super friendly and helpful, (especially when we got caught in the rain and they came to pick us up earlier and at a different location than intended). They had some kind of activity everyday, I saw face painting one afternoon by the office, there was a glow stick parade one night, corn-hole tournament the next, and a movie night the third. A lot of Saco campground are shitshows, (I'm talking about you Fiddlehead!) full of wasted college kids, this place IS NOT THAT. If that's what you want, keep moving. However, if you're looking for a clean, friendly place that is definitely family friendly and a more peaceful but still fun experience I'd recommend On the Saco Family Campground for sure.

Every morning we'd wake up to them doing their rounds and maintaining the sites. They were all very kind to us and our dog. Overall the KOA is impressive. Lovely tent camping sites, a beautiful well maintained field for kids to play and clean facilities all around. When it comes to our site, we were disappointed. We were in site 18 which when parking to give ourselves a place to hangout next to the fire pit put us basically right on top of our neighbor. (Check out the pictures - the only view we had from our window was their camper) Our hangout spot near the fire pit was right next to our other neighbors so it basically felt like we were all hanging out together. The worst part for us was the highway right through the trees is highly trafficked at all hours of the day and night. Yes we heard tractor trailers at 3 am. It was so loud from traffic at times we couldn't hear each other speaking. This area of the KOA made us feel like we were at a rest stop on the side of the highway instead of in the beautiful wilderness camping. We would certainly return but without a doubt would need to upgrade to the much more beautiful spacious sites in the back. If you plan to camp in an RV spot we recommend you do the same!
