I had to say goodbye to the cat of my life last month after he declined rapidly and suddenly. It was by no means a decision I had imagined having to make at this point in his life, he was only 12 and had been healthy up to this point. After a dramatic last couple weeks of his life trying to figure out what was wrong with him (emergency vet visit and overnight stay, and a visit with his regular vet) it was discovered that he more than likely had cancer and his lungs were continuing to fill with fluids despite being drained.
