He was thankful that l sent him a quick message letting him know. He was already set up and I knew what he had drawn up for me! We had to make some minor adjustments for it to fit my arm and then we got started. This time, I tried the viral tattoo numbing cream. It's honestly not worth it. If your sitting for a day, the stuff wears off between 1-3 hours. This numbing cream was not provided by the shop, but I appreciated that Chuck was comfortable with me trying it. You build up more of a tolerance without it because once it stops working, it rapidly stops. I think while he was doing my tattoo, it felt much better without it. We took a quick lunch break in between the hours of tattooing. I was fun hearing him bs with his coworkers. It helped take my mind off the more painful spots. The pain level is different for everyone. Some spots for me tickled... it's not really too much of a struggle not to move because of the pain, but it's more of a struggle not to laugh when the awkward tickling was happening. Like... why tf does it tickle?? Haha! Chuck takes all types of payments when you are finished. If you put down a retainer, that goes towards your session with him. Unfortunately my tattoo has completely faded to the point it is barely visible on my skin. The bottom portion where the nose was done incorrectly looks especially bad. It is embarrassing when people ask about it, especially after learning I paid $2500, which most find hard to believe given how it looks. I am now planning to get it touched up and have the bottom part lasered and redone. Chris is no doubt a talented artist, but this experience has been a major disappointment that I regret. For the price I paid I expected better communication, more care in the design process instead of a same day draft, and most importantly a tattoo that lasts. With my darker skin tone I believe he relied too heavily on grey instead of black, which is likely why it faded so badly.
