I have gotten two pieces from Rachel and both experiences were wonderful. The first piece was an addition to an already existing tattoo. Her attention to detail and artistic eye married the two pieces together perfectly. The second piece was another addition to the existing which she blended in seamlessly. Her artwork is amazing and her calm and professional demeanor made for a quality experience. I cannot wait to go back for more! Not for his work but for his (work ethics,) his attitude, customer service and overall business sense. Let me clarify: I gave my 100 dollar deposit for a job that they quoted me around four hundred fifty bucks. Fair enough. It's big, detailed, color and you get what you pay for in which I was happy in doing my homework on Harley. I told him that this is my first tattoo. So as you can see I was a bit nervous and totally new to this whole experience. I noticed him giving me weird a look as to why the heck I came in w a blanket and pillow. Lol I'm an old dude w a bad back and staying put for four hrs straight isn't something I do everyday. So I take off my flip flop and put my barefoot on his chair to show where and how big I want the tattoo to be... I didn't even get a chance to finish my sentence when he snapped at me: DON'T PUT YOUR FOOT ON MY CHAIR MAN!?!?! WHOA!!! I swear those were his EXACT words. I was totally caught off guard moved my foot and apologized. He then gets his windex bottle, sprays his chair and wipes it clean w a paper towel. Hmmm... Who does that you guys? And who talks like that to a customer??? You mean to tell me this guy never put his butt on the ground? He never ever sat on the grass, dirt, or leaned against a dusty car? I swear I didn't have mud on my feet. I bit my tongue and didn't say anything. Apparently my girlfriend told me most of the things I said annoyed him. Cause he was always giving me dirty looks, rolling his eyes, and looking across the room at his other tattoo buddy. I guess he thought my girlfriend is blind, deaf or retarded and won't notice it. I was done in 3 and a half hrs and freaking LOOOOVED the tattoo. I even tipped him 50 bucks. Which came to 500 bucks even. I get home. Show off my first tattoo on my fb page and mention who was the guy that did it. Someone from my friends list knew him and said: Oh ya. That's Harley Haslem. He's amazing and tagged me his name. I requested him. He accepted and I showed my (initial) five star review on Yelp to which he thanked me for it. Now, after a few days the itching started. I messaged him on fb and asked what to do or use, and when can I start working out again? Was concerned about my salty sweat making it burn and all. Harley reads my msge but doesnt say nothing. I waited 3 days and finally said: This is my first tat and almost everyone said to NOT itch it. I was gonna take ur advice but I guess I'll call the shop. I call the shop and noticed they don't open til 12 noon. He finally gets back to me and says he rarely goes on fb and to call the shop for future questions. So I tipped you 50 bucks, I thought five star review was nice and the fact that I'm his friend on fb should be cool w him. Right? WRONG. LOL After 2 weeks I message him that I want some part of it a re-touch. Does he wanna do it or should I ask for someome else? As you guessed it. He has time to READ my message but that's about it. I am supposed to be an awesome mind reader on TOP of a good tipper. So that was the last straw that broke the camel's back. Look, I didn't expect this guy to become my BFF over one tattoo, 50 bucks or a good review. But I think some of you see where I'm coming from!! I already was impressed by his work. Loved my tattoo. But his weird demeanor totally turned me off. Oh. I almost left out this juicy part: After we were all done, I asked what should I take for pain? With a smirk on his face he says. NOTHING. It's not as if I broke your leg or anything. Shakin my head. How wussy of me to even ask. At the end he said, ok man. Now you can move back out. Conclusion: You just don't diss, insult, or make smart ass remarks like that to someone who was already happy with your work, raved about you, tipped you, and was WILLING to pay you again for a re-touch job (Found out those are actually FREE). NEVER GOING THERE AGAIN. Harley Haslem is a major prick. read more

This review should have been posted quite a while ago so I apologize. I chose Jesso Lange as a tattoo artist because I love her feminine style. I presented a vague idea to her and entrusted her with the details. I was overjoyed at the end result. She is a beautiful person and it shines through in her art. She is thoughtful and a true pleasure to be tattoo'd by. Although she is often booked a while in advance she is well worth the wait. I have been to a handful of shops to receive tattoos over the years and this is by far the cleanest and most professional I have ever been to. The lovely ladies who work reception are the most kind and courteous I have ever encountered at a tattoo shop. I highly recommend Jesso and this shop! read more

Just got my second tattoo a few days ago from Pat. He did an AMAZING job. He was very nice, very willing to answer questions, and was very skilled when it came to giving me the tattoo. Overall he's a very sweet guy who I recommend going to. My tattoo is healing well, so far no complications. I'm very pleased! As for the rest of the shop-it was very, very clean, everyone was very nice and very willing to help you out if you had any questions. I LOVE that they had a TV playing a movie while you're in there. It helps distract you from the pain of getting a tattoo-it also just contributed to the fun, friendly vibe of the whole place. Definitely recommend! THE WORST OVER THE PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD--I LITERALLY CALLED WANTING TO TALK TO THE ARTIST AND MAKING AN APPOINTMENT, AND THE SECRETARY REFUSED TO LET ME TALK TO HIM, BECAUSE I MENTIONED THAT I EXPECTED THE BACKPIECE TO TAKE "AROUND 40 HOURS TO COMPLETE" I called to try to set up an appointment with a tattoo artist, but the secretary who answered the phone became immediately condescending when I asked her "Does an artist named Harley work there?" (seems like a reasonable question). When I asked to speak with him she refused. She decided that I didn't know anything about tattoos because I told her I wanted 40 hours of work done, and wanted to argue "Why do I think a backpiece will take 40 hours?" (Whether it's exactly 25, exactly 32, or exactly 50 is irrelevant). She felt like, since I thought a backpiece would take 40 hours, I had never had a tattoo before etc. I asked repeatedly if I could speak to the artist personally, but she refused. I asked if he could call me back, but she said "I am going to go tell him you were mean to me, and if he calls back, he will be angry. Harley: The work that I seen that you do looks clean. Your secretary is terrible, and she literally prevented me from making an appointment for a large piece with you. Also, my offer, I will pay $100 an hour cash for a 40+ hour piece, never miss appointments, sit for 4-5 hours at a time, and can come in when other clients cancel last-minute. $4000-$5000 cash over the next 6 months. Maybe that would have helped your shop, but the smacked out secretary prevented me from being able to talk business with you. This is clearly NOT a professional establishment, no matter how "talented" the "artists". -Adam read more

He's professional, has got the cleanest line work and really cares about every piece he puts out there. I will say I love everyone in shop too, really good vibes there. I have nothing but love for this shop and everyone there. I adore Sarah, she always answers my questions and is so helpful. Jesso is incredibly nice and so dang cute. Her work is just mind blowing. My favorite though? Harley. I can be pretty indecisive and admittedly not a great planner but somehow he is able to take my half done ideas and put together an incredible piece of art that I am honored to have on me for the rest of my life. I thoroughly enjoy talking to him, especially because he seems to get my sense of humor. I'm about 2 sessions away from finishing my sleeve and I can't stop looking at it. Doing an amazing job of tattooing the Orion Nebula on my left ribcage over a 4 hour period with a few breaks. Super friendly artist who I was very comfortable with tattooing my body, has a good sense of humor and is fun to talk too. The Imperious Rex Studio itself is insanely clean with each artist having their own area to themselves. It's a comfortable environment with nice rhythmic music playing throughout the whole experience. Definitely a place I suggest to my friends and would suggest to anyone else. I have been to Imperious Rex three times and the first couple times I had a decent experience there. Patrick is the tattoo artist who worked on my tats and I think he did a great job. The reason I'm leaving a 1 star review is because I brought my bestie in for an appt who is visiting from out of town - a woman of color (mentioning this for a reason)- and Patrick was absolutely awful to her. He demeaned her, he didn't allow her to speak her mind about her tattoo preferences, and he judged her heavily on her choices. And all she wanted was a simple tattoo of a hand with light emanating from it (little rays to signify the light). It was a SIMPLE TATTOO. And he made the entire experience an entirely awful one. I am highly ashamed I brought her here. We were very close to walking out. I highly advise other folks to be warned: if you're a person of color and more specifically, a woman of color, your choices and voice may be disregarded entirely. He treated me much differently than he treated my friend and that was obvious. DONT spend your money here, and watch out for Patrick. He does good work and the tattoo came out fine but after his behavior today I have ZERO desire to ever come back again. Same with my friend.. Be warned and stay safe. read more

The shop is beautiful & unique; the decor is not exactly what you would expect from a tattoo shop. The dining table with the portfolios is a fun addition to the lounge & I love that you can see all of the artists' artwork displayed around the shop as well as the artwork they're working on in the front of the shop. Great atmosphere, professional and most importantly it is super clean! I went in to schedule a consultation and things went beyond perfect. The portfolios of all the artists are amazing, I could've went with any one and been happy but they picked Pat based on the artwork. I met with Pat the next day and put an $80 deposit towards my tattoo and waiting for the drawing still. Everything is on track and ready to get done once I stick to a schedule. I've had to reschedule two times now to be financially secure since quality isn't cheap. They were more than friendly enough to assist me during the process so far. Very nice staff, the girl on the phone is super sweet! Keep in mind though I rescheduled with a week in advanced so they had time to work around it. I can't wait to get this all done.
