I was looking for a mechanic close to home and based on the great reviews, I decided to visit Sacto. My car was idling rough and the check engine light had just come on and I wanted them to run diagnostics since I had tried all the obvious, easy fixes and the issue persisted. The shop was extremely busy, and the gentleman who greeted me was friendly. I felt totally comfortable leaving my car in their capable hands. A few hours later, I called to get a status and the gentleman who helped me before said it would probably take them a few days to diagnose the issue since it was intermittent and I was better off taking it to the dealership for a more in depth diagnosis. When I picked my car up, the tech explained that they had seen this issue with my model car before and it was probably an issue with the ECU. He did not charge me, but gave me the codes he pulled from the check engine warning. He said the whole time he had my car, he felt it misfire once. He was very polite and again recommended I see the dealership. Here's my problem I don't trust the dealership, nor do I care to pay their inflated price for service. I really think that Sacto already had enough business that mine was not worth their time. As soon as my car was at operating temp, it idled rough consistently, just like it had before I dropped it off, so it concerns me that they didn't feel it. When I got home and popped my hood, my engine cover was not there and I had to go back to the shop to pick it up, so that was a little inconvenient. I wound up visiting another shop in the area and they were able to find the problem (faulty wires) and fix it in just a couple hours. So, guess who I'm taking my car to in the future? The shop that was willing to spend time. It might not have been a high dollar repair this time, but I have another car that needs a lot of work. I really hoped to build good rapport with Sacto but I wasn't a big enough fish for them. Oh well. read more

This place will allow you to spend money on basic maintenance. But when you saw hey I just did my major tune up with you and now my vehicle is leaking oil when it WASNT before I brought it in and they tell you well we can't help you now. Maybe next week. They don't care about you just your money. 4 years of going there and the first problem I have they tell me they don't have time. Unacceptable and will be contacting the better business bureau. Do yourself a favor and spend your money with people who actually care and are willing to help their customers. read more

This auto repair shop lived up to it's 5-star rating. I needed a pre-sale inspection on a car. The dealership wouldn't let me bring it back to my mechanic (45 minutes away) so I looked for a shop close to the dealership. They were so busy but fit me in and did a fantastic, thorough inspection with a detailed report that included pictures. I would recommend making an appointment because they had tons of cars and because I had an appointment I was able to get taken care of quickly. I saved almost $200.00 on my brakes front and rear. One of my guy friend's recommended Tom and his shop to me and told me I'd probably get the cute girl discount. I laughed and said I'd appreciate that because normally it's the other way around, cute girls get charged more for car services. Wether cute, ugly, skinny or fat, boy, girl, straight or gay. I don't think it matters here at Sacto u get straight-forward service that's highly competitively priced and they don't skimp on quality parts. I needed to have my front struts done and I insisted on KYB over OEM and he said no problem. I had an ordeal with my back struts at another shop that was recommended by a different friend that put OEM struts on the back of my car even though he said the KYB's were better because he wanted to make more money off of me and charged me the same price he charged my friend but my friend got KYB. I would looooove to write a critical negative review of that shop but they are part of a tight knit community of family and friends so I decided to be diplomatic and keep mum. I am so grateful I found Sacto. These will be my go to guys from now on and I'll be sending all my friends their way. Their prices can't be beat. I called Sacto the morning to get a quote but walked into the shop without an appointment a few hours before 5:00. I didn't give him a ton of time to install my shocks but they hustled and got them done before closing. I sat in the waiting room but I think normal procedure is to drop your car off early and come back for them later because his lot was full of cars. Some cars he even kept there over night. Super cool- hardworking dude that gives you the best price for repair work with quality parts. I really appreciated this place. Can't recommend them highly enough. Best part besides the terrific price on my repair was that the bathroom was clean!! I was expecting it to be covered with smudges of grease. Sacto is great! I've taken my subaru in to be worked on a few times now and each time have been the best experience I've ever had with any auto shops or repair shops. The staff are very knowledgeable, Tom is very information and patient. I've gotten quotes from several places to get work done on my car and Sacto is the cheapest by far and the most professional and friendly. You can be sure they're not out to get you like other shops. They work fast too! I'll definitely only be bringing my cars into Sacto from now on. They have a wide range of expertise. You can come in for installation of specific parts or come have that weird sound troubleshooted or just come have some routine maintenance done. Either way you wont regret it. My husband and I were buying an Acura MDX off craigslist and wanted a pre-sale inspection. We called some garages in the area (because this is the area that the car was being sold) and every other garage we called wanted anywhere from $76-$120 for the full inspection.... but Tom, here at Sacto, did an inspection for only $30! We were beyond thrilled. After the inspection, which took about 45 mins, he sat down with us and went over the results of the inspection. He said there were some minor things that needed to get done but that nothing he found required immediate action and we could drive the vehicle just fine as it was. We ended up buying the car and going back to Tom the following week to get those minor things taken care of because we're kind of hyper-vigilant about maintenance when it comes to our vehicles. And even though we live an hour and a half away- we were going to be in the area anyway and there's no place in Los Angeles that can compete with the prices for the quality of work Tom provides. read more

His cousin--KEN--is also quite good, (although he's not as gregarious). I especially appreciate Tom's thoroughness in not letting my old--1997 Buick Le Sabre-- not leave the premises, until the promised work, is done right. Their pricing is competitive. Wow! What great reviews! I just got back from there and I am so pleased! I took my car to Meineke on Van Buren & Philbin in Riverside yesterday because my AC was blowing hot. They told me it was going to cost $906, that my compressor, condenser and basically unit had to be replaced. I didn't feel right and a customer of mine had mentioned SACTO previously so I thought I'd get a second opinion. I'm so glad I did! They delved a little deeper, it was an AC cycling switch and charged me $117! They were forthright, delivered just what they said they would and didn't charge one penny extra, and Tom was fantastic! Great communication, friendly staff and quick service. Brought my car in for brake service. I dropped my car off in the morning. They evaluated what services my car needed and called me to authorize work. I received another call when more issues were found. Each phone call was friendly and helpful, estimating time until completion of work. I was so happy with every aspect of this experience, that I brought my other car in for service the next day.
