What an outrageous experience we had here for a pickup order on New Years Eve. Anticipating that it would be a busy night, we placed our order 4 hours in advance. When we called, we were told the order would be ready by 7. We get there at 7 and the order isn't ready. After 15 minutes, I asked for a status update, as I am waiting in a long line of DoorDash workers waiting for the orders. I'm told it will be another 15 minutes. Although I understand the kitchen was busy for the holiday, it was a disappointing response to wait so long since we placed our order so far in advance for a specific time. Not ideal, but fine - it happens. Once handed the food, we were given a voucher for the delay for a free appetizer. Once arriving home, we unpacked the order. We opened the trays to find our rice and our orders of koobideh. Looking around, we were missing our shish kabob order (while seeing it listed on the receipt). Frustrated and hungry, I got in my car to drive back. I call to make sure the order is ready when I get there. The lady on the phone tells me it's packed with the kabob. I tell her it's not there, and she puts me on hold. When she gets back on the line, she tells me that the "kitchen is full" and to come back next week for the rest of my order. In what world is that an acceptable response to missing a dish in an order that we waited for, paid for, and are on the way back to pick up? If the kitchen is too busy, the establishment should have stopped taking in new orders once it reaches capacity to complete all the existing orders. I told the woman that we wouldn't be coming back "next week" and we expect a refund on the order. Once home and eating our food, we also noticed the hummus we were charged more than $10 for was missing. We are expecting a refund on these dishes, if not on the full order. I cannot tell you how impressed I am with the quality and highest standards set by this restaurant. It has a very pleasant yet not stuffy environment where you can feast on a plethora of amazing Persian dishes. The kabob is of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. The rice and appetizers would make a Persian grandmother blush. This is the best ethnic and nonethinic restaurant in Ventura County. Try it at your own risk. You will get hooked. I am a foodie if you haven't figured that out but I got to talking to a phlebotomist while at the Red Cross and she's Persian. She knew i lived in T.O and I was asking about their traditional dishes, she said "You have to try this place for Persian food" Here is the name and you have to try these dishes, the Persian ice cream or try one of the other Persian desserts! I met up with a friend for dinner. There's parking in the back and along T.O blvd. The restaurant is semi big, you can dress casual. It took a while for the server to even come to the table so we had to ask for someone but once we got our drinks we relaxed, looked at the menu and we ordered a combo for 2 which would've fed 4 ! I'm looking forward to going back again. Please don't go if you're in a rush. I like it because i love to enjoy my food. read more

After eating from here several times and loving it, I finally got to dine in and was so happy I did. The restaurant decor is beautiful, warm and inviting, and everything we got was stellar. I was lucky enough to be introduced to Persian food many years ago by some wonderful Iranian friends, who helped me discover and experience the wonderfulness of this great food. This place would do them proud, I'm sure! The fesenjan was so good with those beautiful flavors with the deliciously crispy tahdig. I love the tahdig because it is such a unique dish that you can't really get anywhere else. The lamb was juicy and cooked perfectly, and the salmon kabob was moist with a great texture. Oh! And the dessert was really extra good, I can't remember exactly what it was but I think it was rosewater and saffron infused ice cream that I savored every bite of because of the delightful flavor. This is a mandatory stop whenever I come to Thousand Oaks. The chicken koobideh is better than any other Persian spot! The restaurant interior is new & airy, full on Persian restaurant vibes with a bit of a modern twist. You can park right on TO Blvd, and when you walk in you're welcomed by their friendly staff. Get ready to eat. I recommend ordering the full spread of apps, entrees, drinks, and dessert. The tahdig gheme is delicious, one of my favorites at Sadaf. The beef entrees are very good, but Sadaf does chicken cornish hen & koobideh best. Sub out one of your white rices for baghali polo & you're set. Very disappointed as we have been dining at this restaurant for more than a decade. We had lunch at this restaurant yesterday and we were 3 adults and 3 children. When we were presented with the check, we did not realize that the server added an 18% service charge and this was never mentioned. As a habit, we just added the tip and paid the total by our credit card. This is completely not right to do to a trusting customer. We understand the fact that some restaurants may add their own tip for a party of 8 diners or more, but in our case, the kids only had white rice and one of them did not eat at all. Beware of this scam of a behavior because by not realizing they added their own service charge, we ended up paying an approximate 40% tip, which was definitely not deserved, nor right to conceal the extra charge from us. We will not be dining at this restaurant in the future. Shame on you for pulling this trick on long time and trusting diners. read more

CHECK YOUR BILL! We came here on the weekend, with three adults and three children. When we asked for the bill, it seemed a bit steep, took a look, and they added a 18% gratuity for three adults and three children. It said gratuity is only added for parties of eight or more. Usually we don't even look at the bill and just put our credit card. Thankfully this time we did. It felt a bit sneaky and just wrong all together.
