My Persian coworkers rave about this place so I thought I'd give it a try with some friends. First off I'd like to say the service and ambiance are great. I like the view of TO Blvd from the windows at dusk. I got the trio of stews and my friends both got chicken. Portion sizes were great and the food was presented well. However, I thought certain things tasted either too strong or off. Maybe I'm not used to authentic Persian food but I didn't like the Fesanjoon. The sweetness and earthiness was way too strong. The hummus also tasted off. It had a fizzy taste that was very off-putting. Didn't seem like it had gone bad but I read that sometimes this happens if you soak the garbanzo beans in too much baking soda perhaps? The baklava was soft and a little gooey, not crispy and layered and it had a lot of ginger flavor in it which I'm not used to in baklava. Overall, I think I like Maral in Agoura better. Maybe it's less authentic I don't know but for my tastebuds that seems to work better. read more

I was craving some fresh Mediterranean food and was very far from my usual spots so I ordered for delivery to the hotel I was staying at. Food arrived hot and very delicious! Got their stuff from Doordash- Or I should say *get,* because I order from them regularly. Their koobideh combo is astoundingly good, all of the seasoned rices are spectacular, the meat is well-seasoned and the grilled tomatoes are to die for. I actually opened up Yelp to specifically tell the world how good this damn soup is. I ordered the lentil soup for the first time today, and I got full-body goosebumps. My back arched. I am trembling as I type this. This soup is so delicious it's scaring me a little. Also, I have Celiac Disease and have never been glutened here! Long story short, order the soup. If you love yourself- or if you don't, you will by the time you finish it- then get it. It's too good. Whoever makes this soup, I love you. You are a genius. Keep doing whatever it is you're doing. I can't type any more- this soup is one foot away from me, and my mouth is watering. I need more soup immediately. GET THE SOUP! Update: The caesar dressing is also astounding. Absolute masterpiece. Sadaf has probably the best tasting Persian food in Ventura county. I've tried a few and this place is head and shoulders above the rest as far as taste and quality goes. We've been here a few times now and have not been disappointed. The food is fresh, tasty and the service is top notch even during peak dinner hours.  From their appetizers, varieties of rice, beef, chicken and lamb kabobs to the stews, this is as close to authentic and homemade as you will find around here. They have combo plates that are great for sharing and tasting a variety of items on one plate. To top it off, you get a free hummus with a Yelp check-in! I dined here on Mother's Day with my mom and brother. Upon arrival, the hostess did not acknowledge us or greet us at all. It was understandably very packed so we were completely willing to wait, since we had made the mistake of not making a reservation. We explained to the hostess that we were a party of three and were wondering how long the wait would be. She initially did not give us an answer, then finally responded she did not know. We asked if it would be possible to put our names down and stated that we would be willing to wait. She obliged, but she seemed pretty impassive the entire time. We waited for about 20-30 minutes, at which point we still had not gotten a call from them. My mom walked up to the host stand again to check in about the current wait time. The host again did not acknowledge her. Finally, a server let my mom know that there were currently no tables available inside, and that there was plenty of seating available outside if we were open to that. We agreed to sit outside and had a fantastic meal. My mom and I both ordered the beef koobideh and my brother opted for the filet mignon shish kebabs. We also shared the ghormeh sabzi as a group. We weren't checked on during the meal at all and also didn't receive water refills. Again, it is understandable that they were very busy due to Mother's Day, but it almost seemed like the outside section wasn't a priority for them. We have ordered takeout from here many times, which we have enjoyed just as much, and may be continuing to do that from here on out. read more

I like this place. Im Persian. Persian food isnt easy. That being said the prices are insane and make no sense. An appetizer plate of mushrooms and shrimp is $17. Okay, have you ever walked into a restaurant with your kids and you're like, "Oh! This place is actually really nice ..." but you've already made it past the door, they've seen you, and you're committed? So that was us. We take our girls out to eat pretty often so they are usually well behaved in restaurants, but we did have our littlest one with us, and he does a lot of squealing in delight and sometimes in protest. The staff was great, though. They didn't make us feel out of place or rushed or stuck in a corner. They were cool, attentive, and available but not at the table constantly. Just right. Okay, let's talk about the food. It was so good! Everything came out looking just as good as the photos posted by the business here on Yelp. I had the juicy chicken, and it totally lived up to its name. The rice was fluffy and flavorful, and my Sadaf salad was outstanding. It was so fresh and light, and the imported feta cheese was light and fluffy. It was the best salad I've had in a long time. My daughters shared the grilled salmon kabob, and they both loved it. They love salmon, and the portion was generous - definitely enough for two people. It came with a lightly dressed salad and a side of sabzi polo (steamed rice with herbs and garlic), and I just had to share their rice. So yummy! My husband ordered the dolmeh appetizer (stuffed grape leaves), along with the albaloo polo (steamed rice with sour cherries and slow boiled chicken). He really liked both. I would definitely come back to because I want to try other things on the menu ... but I would also love to have this exact same meal over again. Sadaf, you impressed me! 5 stars! read more

We booked the restaurant for 6 people for a friend's birthday over 2 weeks ahead of time, and then we received a phone call less than a week prior to our event that they booked OVER our reservation for a bigger party.
