Had lunch here today for the first time. We ordered a great sampling: hummus, yogurt/cucumber dip, the cucumber/herb chopped salad (which had a tart lemon dressing ), the filet/salmon/lamb platter (which came with a ton of rice, a beautiful garden salad and roasted vegetables), and the 3 stew sampler which also came with a generous portion of saffron rice. Just loved everything. The meats were all cooked perfectly and were tender; the portions were generous; everything was fresh and homemade; the stews were all so good (my favorite was the pomegranate molasses and walnut one but I loved all three). We had baklava for dessert and it was perfect. Service was wonderful and the owner was so personable and kind. We will definitely be back...soon. read more

Great traditional Persian restaurant right here in TO. got their mint spiced yogurt which was fantastic. Their koobideh kabab was exactly what I wanted, spiced right and cooked perfectly. They kindly offered sour cherry rice instead of the traditional basmati when we inquired, and it was great, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Forgettable food. The chicken kabob was flavorless aside from the char. The koubideh was tough, and the even the basmati lacked flavor. The yogurt dip appetizer with shallots was overly salty. Sad to say the cold lavash was the highlight of the meal. There are much better options in the valley. read more

We knew Sadaf before the pandemic and have ordered take-out a few times since. Last night we had Baghali (rice with lamb shank and gravy) Polo and Tomatoes, and chicken Koobidehm a chicken kabob with onion. We ordered directly by phone and picked up our order. Everything was over-the-top delicious. The portions are so huge that we have hearty lunch for two for today. It was all well-packed and very hot and ready on time. Recommend highly. read more

Food is ok. Best thing is the Sadaf salad and bbq chicken thighs. My mom ordered beef kohbedah and it tasted gross. We assumed it's mixed with lamb but our server said no it's beef. I guess the meat was old but who knows. Rice was long grain and fluffy tasted delicious. Encino location is better and it's guaranteed you'll get fresh meat. read more

My god what a disappointment! I was so excited to have Sadaf in the T.O area as I frequently go to the encino location. I don't know if it was my bad luck or if it's the norm of this location to pick up my food. I should've known when I walked into a empty restaurant. We ordered the chicken koobideh and the beef koobideh and they were soooooo dry! Impossible to eat even with the sumac and we used the butter. I was struggling to eat the food. Such a disappointment Because the Encino one is so good and I expected this one to be comparable but it wasn't. Because of this I don't even want to go back to Encino either. Not only the meat was over cooked and dry but the basmati rice was so dry too. The food smelled gross more like a** but the sizes were alright. If I could give it 0 stars for flavor I would as it was dry and lacking flavor/salt. Felt worse eating this than a dog eating peanut butter. Never again and especially when paying over $20 for my food. I will make the drive out and stick to Raffi's. Would not recommend. read more

There's only one time that I have to wait for my food one hour to get ready and it was tonight at Sadaf in thousands oaks. I ordered panir-sabzi and it had sand in it. I almost canceled my order because it took one hour to get ready and the funny thing that my take out order was ready before my dinner. So sad that some....are in charge of this place. As usual, the food is great. My wife raved about the Sadaf salad with juicy chicken, and my kubideh chicken and beef combo was excellent. The Sadaf salad is a new addition to the menu of the former owners, and a welcome one. The only concern is that prices have risen about $2 a plate (for one on the old Darband menu) and salad is an extra $2 cost item with the plates dishes. The waiter was polite and friendly. We liked the happy hour drink deals - a welcome change. And via Yelp I got a free hummus appetizer, which was delicious as hummus goes. Overall a very good experience. read more

Came here for a quick meal on Christmas Day but were pleasantly surprised at how delicious the food is. We were especially impressed with their "small plate" happy hour special of beef koobideh logmeh and juicy chicken loghmeh. Basically taco style servings of beef and chicken kebabs that were amazing! Absolutely delicious! Had been craving burnt rice, a Persian specialty, and Sadaf did not disappoint. We had it with all 3 stews and it was hard to decide which we liked best. The hummus--free with a Yelp checkin--was seasoned just right. Portions are enormous, so I recommend sharing. We STILL had leftovers from the lamb chops. Service was very gracious. Just wow. Phenomenal stuff. This place deserves 6 stars. Ambiance was inviting, food was not only fresh, and tasty, but with very healthy portions. We had dolmeh for appetizer which was melt in your mouth, followed by Shish kabab for my wife and Ghormeh Sabzi for me. My wife's food was incredibly tender. A great medium rare, which is very rare to nail in this style of food. My food was perfectly cooked and seasoned. It was a very new flavor for me, so I can't judge if it was accurate for the dish culturally, but it tasted great. The rose water ice cream to finish it off was a wonderful treat. Also look at that Turkish coffee set. Wonderful set piece. Great coffee. The definition of putting you in the perfect mood for a phenomenal meal. Great service. Hats off to our server. He not only was incredibly prompt but was incredibly knowledgeable of the menu (including what items wouldn't match our pallet after we explained our request to him) read more
