Ridiculous experience. They picked up my cart for a small repair and tire replacement. They kept my cart for 2 months claiming the tires were back ordered. They assured me that the reason it was taking so long was due to the uniqueness of the tires? When they finally returned my cart, they returned it with the battery almost dead and with completely different tires than those they replaced. Upon recharging my cart after it was returned I am now experiencing a significant fall off in the power output and my lights no longer work. The batteries are year one old. Saddleback Golf Carts is taking no responsibility for any of this. I had to reach out to them many times when my cart was in their possession and several times I was told I was going to get a call back which never came. The only helpful person is the receptionist, that's where the good ends. Luis Luis in service is an absolute horror show, promises to produce an estimate of repair within 2-3 days for our client, 16 days later he says he sends it and comes up with an excuse or 2 or 3 and then talks over you and hangs up like a complete AMATEUR! Been in the biz for 20 years representing some of the best insurance carriers in the biz making the carrier, the shop and the owners happy. If only the senior citizens of Laguna Woods were up to date on tech and were able to figure out how bad this place really is,,,, for those of you reading this, take your business somewhere else and avoid clown world! We purchased a golf card in October fromSaddleback Golf carts. When we asked about registering the cart at the DMV, we were told that Saddleback would take car of it. Six months later!!!!we got a call from Kate at Saddleback telling us that we owed them $686.!!! $300. Was for the DMV. $386.00 was the fee that Saddleback charged for processing the "paperwork" as they called it!!!! We were stunned that Saddleback did not alert us of their outrageous fee. And... when we went to DMV to get the insurance for the cart, they said we really did not need a license unless we planned to go out on the street instead of staying on local NEV paths. We do NOT recommend doing business with Saddleback! Take your business elsewhere!!! read more

BEWARE!!! I would give them NO (ZERO) star rating if I could! Do not use them! They had our GEM electric car for months, without contacting us to give us an estimate repair! I had to keep calling them for status. For a long time, they could not locate the car. After months of trying to get an estimate, I finally told them to tow the car back to our home, it took weeks to get the car back. I spent 2 mornings waiting for them to deliver the car, no delivery; no call to let me know they were not delivering it. I wasted 2 Saturday mornings waiting for nothing. By the time we got it towed back, the car that I gave them very clean, we got back dirty and dusty! I finally got a chance to look inside, they changed the ignition key without letting us know. For the last two summers, while vacationing in Newport Beach, we have rented golf cars from Saddleback and have been very pleased with our experience. Their delivery and pickup service is prompt and efficient. When we had one battery problem, the owner Phil came by the same day to confirm the problem, and Hector replaced the defective battery early the next morning. Luis has been helpful on the telephone answering questions. We believe they have reasonable prices and will call on them again next year. read more

The first time I tried to buy a cart from them the service and follow through was so bad that I drove to Corona and bought from Rainbow, who were great. 5 years later I thought I'd go in and give them another chance, but same crap service, follow through, etc. It's amazing to me these guys are still in business. I had a great experience. From the initial call to the pick up of my carts. All was smooth and very informative. I saw an ad on Craigslist for some used Carts that needed work. I'm looking for projects so I called. I spoke to Luis and Phil who were very patient and helpful. Luis sent me videos and images of the carts in question. I'm about 1.5 hours from Laguna Woods so I wanted as much info as possible before making the trip. Luis and Phil made me comfortable and confident that the carts were as described so I decided to make the trip. Upon arrival I was greeted by Luis. He took his time and showed me all the carts I had interest in. I was able to pick a couple carts and arranged a tow. I left and Luis met with my tow truck driver and coordinated the pick up. It was very painless.... for me. I'm glad I made this contact and will definitely do business with Saddleback again. *Side note* While Luis was helping me I saw a couple walk in. I mentioned to Luis that I could wait if he wanted to go and help them. On his way in the couple were already walking out. The couple commented that no one helped them. Well this was due to the fact that Luis was the only Sales rep at that time and he did not want to be rude and walk away from me to help someone else. Even after I mentioned to him that is was okay to help the couple he was hesitant. I feel like some folks expect to be greeted immediately and helped immediately upon arrival even if there are folks ahead of them. My gut feeling is Luis really wanted to help but was torn between the person in front of him and people that walked in and that can be awkward. This shop offers CUSTOM options which require a lot of time and attention. I understand that it's not a big box store where you walk in grab your items and checkout. Worst place ever! My advice, pay twice the price anywhere else. We purchased a golf cart 1.5 years ago for almost $8,000.00. . It's been in the shop more than 75% of that time. From the beginning, we asked for a new cart or a refund. At first, the manager of 20 years was helpful but more recently we were told that the manager was fired for stealing and that the owner won't stand by anything the manager promised us. Not the kind of business owner you want to deal with. Recently we took our cart out of the shop to find that they delivered it back with chipped paint, missing lettering and full of messy grease near the battery. Check me out. Worst experience with a golf cart. Our family rented one of their carts for a week in our community. The golf cart we were given for a whopping $500 in total for a week and a half was dirty and old. It on the first day after being fully charged would constantly break down and the wheels would lock in the middle of the street. The people told us it was our fault because we did not charge it but could bot explain why after it was stopped in the middle of the road for 35 minutes could then turn back on and drive for an hour afterwards before it was starting to run out of battery. I would highly recommend you use APEX Golf Carts (who was extraordinary with their rental) or any other golf cart rental around you. read more

Here is my honest experience from separate visits. Either nobody knows what the carts cost and you can't get a price without Phil the owner (almost all the carts on the showroom floor don't have price listed) or you can't get someone to acknowledge that you are in the store to offer help. Service is a joke. From the "estimates" I got on my first visit, the carts were grossly overpriced. I was told that a cart with no motor, no batteries and needing new wheels was possibly $2k. I was told the owner, would probably price it as such. I truly can't stand businesses that have no integrity and just want to see how much you are willing to spend. My second visit, I spent 30 minutes on the floor and nobody bothered asking me for help. The place was empty. Simply will never recommend and will take my $10k in business elsewhere. read more

My parents were talked into a DMV permit they didn't need ($300) then were stuck with an additional bill of more than $350 by Saddleback for the nominal job of filling out the paperwork. Saddleback clearly took advantage of them, over billing them for what was ostensibly a courtesy. Beware, DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY: I was referred to do business with Saddleback Golf Cars to replace a V Glide I purchased from a manufacturer. Scheduling was easy with Lishell. Unfortunately, they didn't show up for the job for 2 days in a row wasting my time. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I went ahead and accepted they offer to pick up my golf cart, at no additional cost to me, and conduct the work in their shop. Unfortunately this is where the good news ends. The owner of the shop has no refused to return my golf cart despite my willingness to pay for the replacement of my part and the labor. Instead he is demanding traveling fees, and has doubled his written original bid, and despite my efforts to resolve this his demands do not follow the written quote. I have tried for 3 weeks to resolve this and am still being denied access to my golf cart. Went there yesterday to get info and possibly buy a golf car. The lady in the "office area" was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. She first scolded me to go wait in the show room. After 10 minutes waiting in the showroom the only thing I got was a headache from the smell of gas and fumes. About 5 minutes later the same rude lady popped her head out and yelled " someone's coming soon" I will be buying a golf car next week and it won't be at Saddleback. I've had a few service experiences over the years and have always been very impressed and found them very reliable. Most recently, I had a flat tire and needed to replace it and one other tire due to wear. My wheels are an odd size and they did not have them in stock, but they sent Luis out to our home in Newport and he took my wheels to the shop and installed some loaner wheels so we would be able to use the cart in the meantime. He showed up when promised and communicated everything to me via text message as I couldn't be home at the time. He also followed up when my original wheels were ready (with new tires) and came back out to install them. On another occasion when we had a flat tire, Luis came out and determined that he could plug the tire rather than needing to replace it, so he fixed it onsite. The most impressive interaction was when I called them as the golf cart was running very sluggish, running out of battery power quickly, etc. I told them that I thought I needed replacement batteries, however when Luis came out he pointed out that the batteries were out of water and it was a simple fix of adding water and that I did not need new batteries. Now, i should have known that and have done some basic research re: maintenance, but the point is they could have soaked me for a new set of batteries and didn't. Based on my experiences with them, I enthusiastically recommend them for golf cart service. read more

I took my cart into Saddleback for repair and they pressure washed the paint off many sections of the cart and it damaged the emblems leaving the cart all banged up. They tried to return it back to me without saying anything. I have more paint damage now to repair than the cost of the repair I brought it to them for. They really had no remorse and tried to explain why it happened, not apologetic. No discount. Far from best in class service! I'm will NEVER go back. These guys specialize in mediocrity. read more

I trust this company with my golf cart. They are always fixing my my cart with good timing. Luis (Parts Manager) is always helpful and the ladies in the office are spot on. They get right to the point and acknowledge your problems by scheduling a service to fix or check out whatever you need. Everyone is very nice and makes everything so easy. Phil (the owner) will personally help you as well which always makes a customer feel special. I live in Laguna Woods and prefer Saddleback Golf Cars over anyone. read more

We have 2 experiences with Saddleback. It would have been one but they had come so highly recommended. The first was the repair of an EzGo gas cart. The cart was returned in working condition, but the little things, like adjusting the throttle so the cart would differ in speed based on how much the pedal was depressed... We weren't really impressed, but we shrugged it off and sent our Taylor Dunn burden cart for repair. After about a month of calls and the cart being returned to us twice with an invoice(cart not in working order), we sent our cart to LSV Carts. LSV Carts made Saddleback look competent and dutiful. At the end of the whole debacle, we repaired the cart ourselves. Replaced a forward/reverse switch. Took about an hour. read more

WISH I COULD CLICK ZERO. BEWARE... Bait and switch tactics. I wanted to get my EZGO updated. I explained in full detail what I wanted and was verbally quoted $2,500. I agreed and they came and picked up my golf cart, at the wrong location by the way. Even after verifying my address with them 3 times. ONE MONTH later I get a written quote for $6,000. I said absolutely not. They then proceeded to try and up sell me on a, "better, newer" model. I still said no. When I asked that they return my golf car, they held it for ransom until I paid, ahead of time, an, "estimate fee" of $139. I had no choice even though they had nothing in writing and no signed agreement from me. They said that they would deliver to my house at 10:30AM, they showed up at 1:00PM. Then they neglected to leave me my key and claimed that the driver never picked it up when he picked up my golf car in the first place. Right... how convenient to come up with that excuse off the top of your head after having the car for 90 days. Great memory I guess. I will never, ever use or buy anything from Saddleback Gold Cars again and I will strongly encourage everyone I know to stay away. And, living in a resort, beach area like Dana Point, Laguna Beach: That's a lot of people with Golf Cars. I would rather trailer the thing to the desert where there are plenty of reputable dealer. I'll keep it short and simple. Cart went dead and was picked up on a Thursday. I called them twice the following Monday as I hadn't heard from them, and wasn't even sure they had it. Also sent a follow up email. Received a call Tuesday and was very politely told they needed some time to get their diagnostics done. No problem. Wednesday they called and gave me an estimate of over 4000.00. That's more than I paid for it. I paid them the "estimate" fee to get the cart released and had another company go get it. Estimate for repairs 1/8th of theirs, so hopefully things work out. Woman answering the phone was pleasant, service guy was polite when he did eventually did get back to me, but I decided to take my business elsewhere after reading other yelp reviews and being shocked by the estimate provided. read more
