I'd sent out a Yelp request for estimates, indicating in my request that I owned a condo and needed a termite inspection /report for the pending sale. Kevin P responded and was the only person who asked me who the HOA uses to perform exterior termite inspections. Kevin indicated that using that same company would probably be best for me, because - if termite damage were found - the HOA would want that company to address anything the HOA covers... I requested a Yelp quote and received many responses but they were the only ones to ask me about my HOA and tell me that I should speak with them first. So my review is based on customer service and upfront honesty completely. None of the other 6 vendors mention that. Tenting a house is the most definitive way of getting rid of termites, bedbugs, and other critters. Spot treatments can be a hit or miss, and the technicians have to drill holes all over the house to find the local infestations and get all the spots. I chose to go with the tenting route, even though it was more hassle. My main criteria in choosing the company to go with are: 1) hassle factor -Saddleback Termite, made it easy. They inspected the home, gave me all the air-sealed bags I need for the home items. On the day of the tenting, workers even helped with bagging of the house hold items. 2) trust - leaving your home unattended while workers go thru the tenting process can be worrisome. Saddleback Termite, vets their fumigation company, and has zero tolerance for invasion of privacy and theft (they fired a previous fumigation company because someone had stolen a baseball hat). This is an unusual rating, as we unfortunately chose another company to fumigate our house. The reason for the five star rating for Saddleback is they were so incredibly honest and helpful and, despite knowing they likely would not win the business, spoke to me several times to give us guidance. Their inspector, Jered, told us that we had a termite problem, but was the only inspector to point out that our lightweight tile roof would likely sustain significant damage. Incredible honesty! Subsequently, I spoke twice to the owner, Rachel, and she was incredibly helpful and patient, answering all of my questions despite knowing I was likely going with a company who also was a roofing contractor I believe I'm ok with who I chose, but I would have preferred going with Saddleback. They seem so incredibly honest, and clearly have the highest level of customer service. The least I could do is give them the rating they so deserve read more

Chris came out to do an inspection of my home. He was very professional and thorough in explaining what he found and what he recommended. He was a very trustworthy person, and I enjoyed speaking with him. I am not sure how I will proceed, but Chris was very honest in explaining that termites found in fences may not necessarily mean that there are termites in the attic or in the home. He was proactive about checking the wood trim around my home, and I felt like I was in good hands. read more

I was hesitant at signing up at first bc they aren't necessarily the cheapest but they aren't the most expensive but boy am I happy with the service their techs provide. We have monthly services and Roland is awesome. They don't just show up, spray, and leave. They actually assess the situation and use products for a foreseeable problem -- all part of the service, no upcharges. This month our tech mentioned he saw a few ant scouts so he informed us he used pellets in the grass to discourage colonization. Firstly, how cool that he's paying attention and secondly it's so cool that someone has this depth of knowledge. Ants look like ants to me. Money well spent. Highly recommend this service. read more

My usual tech Ethan did not come yesterday, I saw the technician and told him how much trouble we were having with snails, he told me that he had nothing to deal with that problem but Ethan has always treated for that. This technician was literally here for less than 10 minutes. I am not even sure that the traps got reset. I have been very satisfied with Saddleback but I feel this stop was not up to your standards. We had evidence of termites (frass) in the master bedroom, and so Saddleback sent someone to come by and take a look. Mainly, this review is for the inspector Chris, who also ended up doing our spot treatments. He seems very knowledgeable and patient, and really took his time to explain what he was doing. We had a lot of questions and he was happy to answer them. The day of the treatment, he spent about four hours at our house, not just treating our attics and the bedroom, but also replacing some dry-rotted wood trimming outside. From what I've learned, spot treating is always a bit of a gamble. We're hoping, however, that we don't have to resort to fumigation yet or at all. In any case, we'll be following up with annual inspections with Saddleback. read more

I had Termite and Pest Control service for a few years with a company most recently named Quality First. At the end of 2019, the pest control service was "transitioned" to Saddleback Termite and Pest Control. I received a letter in the mail from the prior company notifying me of this change, which also included a letter from Saddleback Termite & Pest Control which clearly stated "Your pricing and service frequency will remain the same as with your previous service provider." However, almost immediately after this "transition" I was contacted by Saddleback attempting to re-negotiate the service because they "didn't offer the same package of service i was receiving previously". They attempted to get me to agree to literally doubling the price of my services. I has been a very happy customer of Quality First (aka Quality Care) Termite, and you can look up my glowing review of them. I find it disgraceful that this company would attempt to strong arm those previous customers into a double the cost contract. Kevin quickly and accurately diagnosed the issues and provided a flexible set of options. It was a breeze to coordinate with Jewels via phone and email. The first set of treatments were handled by Zach & Mo, who took care of my property and minimized disruption to me by taking care of all the exterior work before efficiently completing the interior work. I appreciated that they called ahead and communicated all the steps clearly. As a bonus, some of the subterranean treatments even took out a colony of ants. Bo came out for the first treatment. He swept away cobwebs on the rafters and under patio furniture. It feels so clean! He sprayed the outside only, but said that would take care of keeping insects out of my house. He looked for holes where vermin might get in, and verified that my dog was doing a good job of keeping rodents and rabbits away from the property. He was super nice and friendly. His carpentry crew (Jared and Scott) showed up as planned, they were very articulate/well spoken, so there was no miscommunication re the termite/wood repair work. Excellent customer service. This company tented my next door neighbor's house. They had to access my backyard. I have been remodeling my yard and just put new turf in. They poured dirt on my new turf. I had talked to a worker who came by to check on the tent, and made him aware and asked if it would be cleaned up on removal. He guaranteed it would be cleaned. They did a half ass job cleaning it up. There is still dirt on my new turf. I cannot use a blower because of the sand that is used in it. I am very disappointed in this company especially after talking to someone about it. Update.. Thanks for taking care of the issue. I did call your office, Kevin, but it was closed. I was annoyed that I had spoken to the person and he confirmed he would clean up the mess. I cleaned some of it after take down, but didn't have time to finish. That turf is literally brand new. We've had a major spider issue outside and after a couple treatments they are disappearing! I run a small daycare and the last thing I want are creepy spiders getting near the children. He was on time, pleasant and did a thorough inspection. No up-selling or other baloney. He found only a small issue with some entry points that needed to be sealed and gave me good information on how to handle it. After bad experiences with the other national pest control chains giving insane bids to do basic pest control, it is very refreshing to connect with a local company with good people and excellent customer service.
