There were a few companies that I called that seemed like it would be a ripoff or they were so eager to know upfront how old the unit was, I was pretty sure they'd just recommend a replacement. I'm not an expert on pricing at all for AC, but I feel like it was a fair, solid value for how long he was here, fixing the one upper unit and also cleaning and checking the lower unit. Aubrey came and was so professional and thorough and able to get our AC repaired and up and running. What a relief. It's possible we still may need to replace the unit, but it's good to give it a try to see if the leak repair will work first. We will most likely be signing up for their yearly maintenance package next spring to get things cleaned out and in good working order. Highly recommend!

In fact he offered to credit the service call toward the purchase of a new AC, if I decided to go with his company. Two months later, when I had the same problem, I called him back and placed an order for a new unit. He still honored the credit for the service call after two months. Extremely disappointed with NexGen's protection plan…read more I paid for this membership for over two years because it included things I actually used -- my annual tankless water heater flush, A/C check, and replacement A/C filters. Now, apparently, those benefits have changed. Filters are no longer included and the water heater flush costs extra. What really makes me angry is that I do not recall NexGen ever notifying me that the benefits I was paying for had changed. They even called ME to schedule my annual water heater flush through my membership, only for me to find out afterward that I would now have to pay extra for it. So what exactly am I paying for? To make matters worse, nearly every service visit seemed to come with a new list of recommended repairs or upgrades costing anywhere from hundreds to thousands of dollars. At a certain point, it becomes very difficult not to feel like the membership is more useful as an opportunity to sell you additional work than as an actual maintenance plan. If NexGen had simply been upfront and notified customers that the plan was changing, I could have decided whether it was still worth paying for. Instead, I continued paying for a membership based on benefits I had received for years, only to discover they were no longer included. Based on my experience, I would absolutely not recommend this protection plan. Save your money and get everything they claim is included in writing before signing up.
