To cut a long story short, I have not had good experiences with HVAC companies in the past where they try to scare you into paying for overpriced (and unnecessary) replacement parts, expensive service plans, and then end up doing shoddy work. This was why my AC never cooled like it was supposed to.....for the last 6 or 7 years! Until now. I had read through all the reviews on Yelp for a HVAC company I could trust, and finally narrowed my choices down to Stanley at Irvine AC. I emailed the company about what I needed done....that is, AC was not cooling as it should, and to have my themostat replaced to a smart one. The response was quick and detailed....and surprised me as it was on a weekend and I didn't expect any reply till the following work week. Anyway, I later learned that it was Stanely himself who responded to my email, informing me what he would do, what it would cost, and even made several suggestions on thermostats for me to consider over the rest of the weekend....I really appreciated that. Anyway, Stanley texted me 20-30 minutes before ETA...nice....and arrived on time. He nicely greeted me, came prepared with his bag of tools,and a fully equipped van, and was even respectful enough to have brought shoe covers so as not to dirty our floors.....very good impression made so far. Stanley went to the AC unit outside to do his diagnosis and some time later came back to tell me what he found and made suggestions to fix the problem. It seemed the capacitor the previous HVAC tech installed was an unapproved model, and they had left the gas caps off, which is why the AC's freon had been leaking all these years, making the air in my home not cool. OMG! I couldn't believe it....finally, a solution! Stanley then gave us a breakdown as to what everything would cost, and I was pleasantly surprised it sounded very fair (compare to my neighbor who recently had his AC serviced). He also told us what we did and didn't need, never tried to upsell me into expensive parts and services, and definitely didn't try to sell me some overpriced service plan. Just simple, honest, friendly and fair expert service...that's it. During Stanley's time at our home, we chatted about this and that, and this gave me even more confidence in his abilities, his personality, and his character.....not only is he a true expert in what he does, he's a good, honest, and affable person, and as far as I am concerned, this is exactly what I been looking for for so long.

What I thought was maybe only a capacitor turned out to be a blown fuse in the attic and a broken contactor. Capacitor was working but had a low reading so got all 3 replaced in one swoop. Work was done quickly and at every step Benjamin went out of his way to test everything to make sure it was working as well as explain to me what he was doing and why he was doing it. Benjamin is a good guy, didn't try to sell me on replacing a unit, and offered a good service at a reasonable price. If you're in need of a good HVAC technician, Benjamin is your guy.

I ended up calling another company, and they came out and immediately tried to upsell me on multiple expensive services. Something didn't feel right, so I decided to get a second opinion and called him back. When he came out, he did another fireplace sweep and also repaired cracks in both the exterior and interior of my fireplace. He took the time to carefully inspect everything and honestly told me those additional services the other company recommended were not necessary. I really appreciated his honesty and not trying to take advantage of the situation. His pricing is very fair, and his work is excellent. It's rare to find someone this honest, skilled, and trustworthy. I highly recommend him and will continue to use him in the future.

Hire them! I contracted with One Season after contracting with another "local" company that I had used for 20+ years. I'd originally called the former company out to inspect my AC because it smelled sweet, like something was leaking into the ducts. They quoted me 19K for duct work, new furnace, new coils and other work. Something didn't sit right but this was a company I'd trusted. They'd just put a new 16k AC 1.5 years prior and no mention of duct work needed. After telling my next-door neighbor about the cost, he reached out to his friend, an owner (Chad) at One Season. They sent Joe out the next day. As it turns out, I only needed new duct work. The furnace was still new and the coils only needed to be cleaned and purified. Joe explained everything thoroughly to me so that I could make an informed decision. Their quote was 8K. I cancelled with the other company immediately. The crew, Rob, Josh and Ben were so fantastic. They were super nice, polite, treated my home with care, were efficient and didn't leave a speck of dust or mess. More than the work they did, here's something that's unmatched: They way they worked together. I've lead a lot of teams over the course of my career and this crew was a team. They worked together to well. I was in my office right outside of where they were working so I heard them all day. Their communication and helpfulness to each other showed they not only worked together well but that, they weren't just three people on a jobsite together. They were a team with a ton of comradery. You can hire for skills, character and personality but you build a culture, and One Season sure seems to have done a great job there. Regarding the other company: after researching it when it felt off, I learned that their owner retired about a year ago and as happens to many of the locally owned business, they were bought by a venture capitalist group. This is happening to many mom and pop business and people need to be aware. The VCs' buy these companies and retain the name to make it look locally owned. They are big enough to secure big purchasing discounts, forcing smaller companies out and the fixing the prices much higher as there's no competition. Hire local and strongly consider One Season. Yes, they asked for a review and I'm delighted to give it to them. read more

I had a fantastic experience with One Season Heating and Air Conditioning from start to finish. Aubrey handled the diagnostic and quote process with professionalism and patience. He used digital tools to measure and provide a clear, data-driven analysis of my system. He thoroughly explained the cost/benefit of repairing the Freon leak versus replacing the system, which helped me feel informed and confident in my decision. I appreciated his transparency about the industry reality that replacing coils often isn't practical, and that my system was essentially "near totaled." The quote I received was fair--not the cheapest, not the most expensive--but with excellent terms: 12 months no payments with deferred interest (which I plan to pay off early), a no-change-order policy, and strong warranties (2 years parts & labor, 10 years parts). The financing approval process through Momnt was seamless and completely digital. On installation day, Josh and Michael were right on time, professional, and very collaborative. They included me in key decisions about install placement and enhancements, ensuring the new Trane Slim system outside not only worked perfectly but also looked clean and elegant. I just wanted to recognize the company as a whole. I needed someone out as air was not pumping out. The gal I spoke with to schedule needed to call be back and asked to allow 15 minutes as they are merging and may be in another system. I received that call back 13 minutes later. She followed through with call back and that doesn't happen ever especially with the transitions of business and the high service calls during this heat wave right now. I've used this team for the past 10 years for maintenance or repairs. Never have I had a bad call, support, techs etc. I love love love them. I wish I had all tech names from previous work so I could give them shout outs. For now for my recent Martin Turner just delivered from the get go. Prompt, kind, communicated well of what was going on and provided information on things I may want to start looking into. And not once with him or anyone else have I felt pushed to buy and move forward. After 20 years of no maintenance, my air conditioner my gave up. I checked Yelp for a local HVAC company. I decided on One Season as it had great reviews and they were local. It ended up being a great decision on my part. I called during a heat wave, and did not expect to get same day service. Aubrey came out within an hour of my call and was able to get it working again in short time. He also showed me, because of my years neglect to this unit, with a camera probe, what should be done. He was back the following week to clean the unit inside my house. When he took the front panel off he discovered all the corrosion and explained my alternatives. Because it was so old, I decided to go with a new air conditioning unit. The following week, Mike and Josh came out to take away the old, and install the new unit. They both were courteous and worked very efficiently. They had my new unit up and running in no time. I got several pricing from competitive companies and this company pricing was very competitive and for the work they were doing I felt was above and beyond the price that was paid.. after the install they sent a technician out to ensure everything was settling in well and making sure all my questions were answered and that I was still taking care of. This is by far the best air conditioning/heating experience I have ever had. I own a 30 year old home that needed the furnace and ductwork replaced. Chad, the owner of the company came out for the first service call and spent time walking me through the science of the kind of upgrade we needed and was super friendly and professional. It was going to be a lot of work because years had gone by and the HVAC system had not been maintained (cleaned). He had to go and take care of another appointment and get supplies for my job, but he promised he would be back as soon as possible (3-4 hours). I was anxious to get going, but I understood, and he actually came back sooner than we both expected! He spent hours cleaning everything and then checking that everything worked. I'm so happy that the heater is clean and didn't actually have a problem, and that the AC is clean too and refilled (the smell came from not having been used for a while). I am eternally grateful to True North Heating & Air for coming through for me. They were fast to respond, communicated well with me throughout the project, reasonably priced, professional, understanding, and friendly. If I ever have another problem (or when it's time for an annual cleaning), I'm calling them without hesitation!
